Mills for Captain

I don't think Mills has any known birth place or parentage. He was found wandering the streets of Swindon and taken in by Gary Mills, who trained him to become the footballer he is today.

Yeh he was deffinatly in Swindon at a young age. I remember getting dicked by his brother in primary school football.

Do you know if he has any connections with Leicester - grew up in the City (or County) etc ? I wonder where the mention of Leicester (on Wikipedia ?!) came from - or was it just wishful thinking on someones part ?!

I believe one of our posters wrote it. Alex?

It did say Swindon. I changed it to Leicester because it said he was Leicester-born in the Reading article. At the time there was no actual link to anything saying he was from Swindon (that I'd seen anyway). Plus I just wanted to stir things up a bit.

Well someone mentioned his dad played for city?? no idea about that.

as the only city fan in school (excluding my brother) i would have thought it would have been mentioned.

Id shout for king as captain but we don't know who gels best and can hold the team together, esp with a whole new back 5.

Read an article in the local (Reading) rag about Mills during a pre-match piece before they played us last season.

He said, though he was born in Leic, his family moved when he was 1, so didn't really have any affinity with the place.

Still, I'd be happy enough for him to reproduce his form per last season, £4.5m for a 24-yr old with a couple of good seasons, ain't bad. When he moves on, in a couple of years' time we'll get atleast that back.

Born in leicester is good enough for me - he will have an affinity for the place in a few weeks thats for sure

Yeah, I was going by Wikipedia to be honest which looks like has been changed at some point to say he was born in Leicester. He probably wasn't then.

Maybe he is to awesome to have been born in one place but instead is the mix of two different babys magicly connected in a shed in Leicester, I just blew your mind

People are saying his dad is Gary Mills. His dad isn't Gary Mills.

I think Mills for captain too :scarf:

Dominant centre half and more vocal than King. However, he has just joined but I've seen this happen at other clubs before.

I think Mills will be made Captain shortly before the season starts. He's a natural leader at the back, and I think defenders make better Captains generally.

Nothing against King, he's a fantastic player, but i'm not convinced he's really a leader.
