GH1 Posted 7 July 2011 Posted 7 July 2011 When this is confirmed what about Mills as next seasons captain? Plays at Centre Back (good captain position) will be first name on team sheet, a strong player, and he's from Leicester - come on When was the last time we had a captain from leicester (I dont recall Heskey having a go, Lineker to young, mattock.......)
Kent Posted 7 July 2011 Posted 7 July 2011 I know he's from Leicester but does anyone know who he supported? I guess someone will ask him in an interview.

I would say no because then king will feel pissed off becuase he was not long made captain. if mills comes then he should be straight a captain, maybe vice but not full captain because you have to think of king
bald reynard Posted 7 July 2011 Posted 7 July 2011 I know he's from Leicester but does anyone know who he supported? I guess someone will ask him in an interview. Sky Sports (Rothmans) Yearbook and the PFA Yearbook both say he was born in SWINDON. Now, I guess you COULD be born somewhere and move (at a very young age !) to another place - and then say you, "were from that place" (ie he could have moved to Leicester), but normally you're 'from' where you were born ! Perhaps Sky Sports and the PFA books are wrong ?!
dannythefox Posted 7 July 2011 Posted 7 July 2011 I would be surprised kings a good captain. We all no Mills is too but would Sven bring him in and do that straight away?

MikeyT Posted 7 July 2011 Posted 7 July 2011 Can't imagine him coming straight in and being appointed captain. Other players been here longer you'd think would be a captain, like King or Wellens. Just guessing though.

The conclusion we came to was that he was either born in both, or part of a travelling Circus. I like the latter.
Father Ted Posted 7 July 2011 Posted 7 July 2011 Anybody who honestly thinks King is a better captain than Mills could potentially be is an idiot.

Finnegan Posted 7 July 2011 Posted 7 July 2011 Anybody who honestly thinks King is a better captain than Mills could potentially be is an idiot. And anyone who thinks the sky is pink with green zig-zags is an idiot, too. What's your point?
bald reynard Posted 7 July 2011 Posted 7 July 2011 I was born in Chelsea but always say I'm from Leicester otherwise it gets too complicated when someone asks where are you from? Fair comment DG - I don't tell anyone that I was born near West Bromwich - or that I grew up near Nuneaton ! Witness, that my profile says I'm "ex-Lutterworth" !

deepbluedevil Posted 7 July 2011 Posted 7 July 2011 Not sure that bringing in a new player and immediately replacing King as captain will do anything to build his confidence.

I remember getting dicked by his brother in primary school football.
GH1 Posted 7 July 2011 Author Posted 7 July 2011 Fair points, dont want to undermine King, but if i had a choice (regardless of the is he isnt he Leicester) i would have mills But actually if he was bom Leicester isnt it his natural birth right
Itsthejoeker Posted 7 July 2011 Posted 7 July 2011 Bradon Forest is a secondary school located in Purton, near Swindon in the English county of Wiltshire. The school is famous for its theatre works, and that actress Billie Piper once attended the school, as did footballers Matthew Mills, his younger brother Joseph Mills and former Swindon Town player Michael Pook. The headmaster of Bradon Forest at the current time is Mr L M Spiers. The school holds specialist Arts College status. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bradon_Forest_School
80footgiraffe Posted 7 July 2011 Posted 7 July 2011 I like king as captain at the king power stadium, mills as vice yes please. Maybe next season. just not quite yet
Itsthejoeker Posted 7 July 2011 Posted 7 July 2011 Straight from the '05 village newsletter Football success continues! In addition to the number of youngsters who play local football so successfully, those at the Swindon Town Football Club Academy – Michael Pook transferring to the Swindon First team so successfully – we now have two Bradon Foresters in separate England teams and they are brothers! Joseph Mills (Year 10) has been selected for the England U-17 Squad for the Nordic Tournament in Iceland. Joe is on the books of Southampton and will be attending the Southampton Academy. His brother Matthew is also on Southampton’s books. Matt left two years ago and is developing well. He has been loaned to Coventry and Bournemouth and was on the bench for the last Southampton match of the season at Charlton; he should break into the first team next season. Currently Matthew is playing for England in the European U19 championships. As we write this, the team has just beaten Serbia Montenegro in the semi-finals 3-0. In the quarter-final against Norway, Matt scored a superb header in the first 3 minutes. (Cable TV is useful at times). Unfortunately the final is after the deadline for the magazine, so fingers crossed. Joe and Matt’s elder brothers also came to Bradon Forest and were also good players – JP played for Southampton and Jamie was on the books of Swindon Town. Joe is continuing the family success and it would be a great moment if he and Matt were on the same team sheet in Southampton’s first XI. Joe was with Swindon Town until 11, then at Aston Villa before joining Southampton. It is a pleasure to work with parents to support youngsters with talent and, hopefully, help them achieve their dreams. http://www.purtonmagazine.co.uk/2005-09_sep.pdf
