AmyLGK Posted 13 July 2011 Posted 13 July 2011 I tell you why I feel strange....cause we support Leicester City - NOTHING is EVER straight forward
RumbleFox Posted 13 July 2011 Posted 13 July 2011 How can any of you not be excited by this? What is wrong with some of you? Do you have brain maggots or something? If we would have made this signing last year, just before he went to Liverpool you would all be wank1ng into your replica scarves! Why can't some of you just let a little joy into your lives and let yourself get carried away for once! I know we might end up looking stupid and I would never be one of those fans saying "promotion is a definite" but Jesus Mary Christ of Atlanta have a little bit of optimism! The dance I'm doing at the signings we have made so far can only be described as resembling Cthulu entering the mortal plane! Come on Paul, I love you and recognise you for what you are : A fvcking good signing! Up the Foxes! Rumble. X

Bugg Posted 13 July 2011 Posted 13 July 2011 Konchesky's head is really, really flat on the top. It's like you could rest a glass on it.
Happy Fox Posted 13 July 2011 Posted 13 July 2011 Poor Forest always whining about something http://www.forestforum.co.uk/showthread.php?t=26664
purpleronnie Posted 13 July 2011 Posted 13 July 2011 Am I the only one who has gone from elated with all the signings to getting a little bit scared!!! The only thing that concerns me is the fact I don't think the squad is full of goals, for me thats what will get us promotion and I dont see it, hopefully that will change.

I think its priority we sorted out our defense, hopefully we can just now add a striker and a winger and then that should do it
Babylon Posted 13 July 2011 Posted 13 July 2011 The only thing that concerns me is the fact I don't think the squad is full of goals, for me thats what will get us promotion and I dont see it, hopefully that will change. I would say the squad actually has more goals in it than last year. we are just missing the main striker (I'm not going to say 20 goal striker). Mills scores from CB (think he got 6). Danns got 10 last year. Nugent got 14. Add that to King and Gally who should get good numbers again. We then have Vassel, Waghorn etc who can all chip in. Naughton will be missed though as Peltier has only scored two career goals. If we got Routledge and Maynard (big IF) i'd say the team is full of goal scorers.
Happy Fox Posted 13 July 2011 Posted 13 July 2011 I maybe reading too much into this but Sven's comments seem to suggest that maybe some more players from the top flight maybe coming here City manager Sven-Goran Eriksson said: "Paul has been a Premier League player year in and year out throughout his career so he represents a very big signing for us. "He wanted to come to Leicester City and it means a lot that proven, established top flight footballers want to be part of what we are building here.
Babylon Posted 13 July 2011 Posted 13 July 2011 Love how people think we are paying him £40k a week. Yes the owners are throwing money at it but they aren't bloody insane!!!
Dabizas Posted 13 July 2011 Posted 13 July 2011 I always rated this guy untill he went liverpool, just too much of a big move for him maybe not sure! Fully expect him to do more than a capable job and an improvement on last season in my eyes but will have to wait and see!

The one thing I would say however is that I remain a little concerned about a general lack of pace going forward. The players we have signed are by no means immobile, but I'd love to see a real quick player in the team... someone we can give the ball to and let them scare defences by running at them, or getting in behind them. We have gifted technical players (Gallagher, King, Danns) but 'the final piece in the jigsaw' may be that injection of real pace in the team when counter-attacking. Only Lloyd Dyer is rapidly quick at the moment, and it looks live Sven wont play him much
Jonezy Posted 13 July 2011 Posted 13 July 2011 The guy had a rough season at Liverpool and the Trees, but before that, he was an established Premier League left-back and part of a great defensive unit at Fulham. This is a great signing! The concerns are not about the individual signings, but more the fact, that we are building an entirely new team over one pre-season, and what will happen, if the whole thing implodes instead of firing us into the brink of promotion. But right now, we can't really do much, other than enjoy the ride, and I certainly will.
carterfox90 Posted 13 July 2011 Posted 13 July 2011 not to sure about this signing my mates a liverpool fan & he reckons he's not that great !! we will have to wait & see think brunos days are numbered now
Babylon Posted 13 July 2011 Posted 13 July 2011 not to sure about this signing my mates a liverpool fan & he reckons he's not that great !! I'm not sure just because someone isn't deemed good enough for the Liverpool first team, they should be deemed a bad player/signing.
leicesterisme Posted 13 July 2011 Posted 13 July 2011 not to sure about this signing my mates a liverpool fan & he reckons he's not that great !! we will have to wait & see think brunos days are numbered now Yeah we all know he had a shocking spell at Liverpool, not his fault Hodgson bought him but it was a step too far. He's easily good enough to be in the bottom half of the Premiership. IMO this is along with Mills the best signing yet.
Happy Fox Posted 13 July 2011 Posted 13 July 2011 Interesting read from the Wolves forum one of their fans based in Leicestershire has apparently got a contact at Leicester City training ground and this is what he says http://www.wolvesforum.co.uk/showthread.php?10900-Leicester-City
SOCCERROO FOX Posted 13 July 2011 Posted 13 July 2011 http://www.lcfc.com/page/LatestNews/0,,10274~2391520,00.html Eriksson himself handed Konchesky his England debut in a friendly against Australia in February 2003 and picked him for the Three Lions once more for a friendly against Argentina two years later. One of my favourite all time games. People saying he was woeful for Liverpool etc. It's Liverpool we are Leicester before last season we would of been calling this one of the singings of the decade. Babylon - will you have my babies? I Very rarely disagree with anything you say on here very sensible poster
The Padster Posted 13 July 2011 Posted 13 July 2011 Konchesky's head is really, really flat on the top. It's like you could rest a glass on it. It is quite... angular.

Corky Posted 13 July 2011 Posted 13 July 2011 Player with plenty of experience at top flight level and although he didn't do well at Liverpool, we aren't on the same level as them and shouldn't be used as a true barometer. Welcome Paul, best of luck.
