Ash Posted 15 July 2011 Posted 15 July 2011 So just got a tx off a mate whos actually out in Stockholm watching the lads, he said he was in the team hotel earlier and got speaking to a few people. Im not saying it is true or isnt true because its just something he must of heard from someone but he heard we going to sign a new rightback tomorrow. No names got mentioned but i have no idea who i could be . I know alot of of you will shake your head and think its just another BS rumour because i have no source, but thought id let you all know what ive heard and im sorry if its doesnt come true but fingers crossed.

Guest ttfn Posted 15 July 2011 Posted 15 July 2011 What we really need is somebody who can offer cover at both right and left back. We don't need a first-choice right back or a first-choice left back. Just somebody who can do a steady job on either side. No examples leaping to mind though.

I'd love Vitor to come back.

If Berner is going to be player-coach, I'm not so sure it does leave us that short. I know Sven isn't going to rely on loans - but I can see Cunningham coming back if he recovers from his injury ok.

The People's Hero Posted 15 July 2011 Posted 15 July 2011 CLYNE Can't see Clyne signing to be back up and we appear to be sorted for first choices. This would be a cracking signing though.

The People's Hero Posted 15 July 2011 Posted 15 July 2011 Dont think anyone that is good is gonna wanna be a backup but they can be rotated Indeed. We do want competition though. Clyne would be a great signing.
shen Posted 15 July 2011 Posted 15 July 2011 Indeed. We do want competition though. Clyne would be a great signing. Could well be Peltier who's maybe thought as backup
lcfcrinaldi Posted 16 July 2011 Posted 16 July 2011 Micheal Ball signing the dotted line? Though would have thought that would be done on return from Sweden or just before the start of the season. Or ofcourse I'm stupid and he dosent even play RB
One Arm Babba Posted 16 July 2011 Posted 16 July 2011 I'd rather peltier was given his chance than pay probably close to 3 million for Clyne. The money is better used elsewhere. The number.of defenders we now have... Surely 1 can slot in if needed. Worst case scenario - ROBBIE NEILSON.... Arrrrrrrrrrrr

Arrrrrrrrrrrr Yeah, cus it's worth paying millions to shore up your central & left side of defence just to allow a donkey to play at RB isn't it?
MGLCFC Posted 16 July 2011 Posted 16 July 2011 Think Sven wants each position covered and it may be that in some postions a rotation system is played. I firmly believe one of the reasons we faded so badly at the end of last season was because our midfield ran out of energy after playing nearly every game and having a poor pre-season.

Maybe a loan signing could be a decent shout for cover and competition
Jam Posted 16 July 2011 Posted 16 July 2011 What we really need is somebody who can offer cover at both right and left back. Alan Maybury?
PegguyArphexad Posted 16 July 2011 Posted 16 July 2011 Clyne would provide cover for RB and RM... But very much doubt he would come here to play second fiddle to Peltier and I would like to see Lee make that RB slot his own.
