3 - 4 More Signings To Come

I think its the players Sven least speaks about that he's most interested in, Routledge Maynard are up there but are perhaps the slimmest of chances. Ball will obviously sign

Not sure where the new Yak offer has come from, we've already negotiated with him thanks to having a 3.5m fee agreed in the past and it would smash our wage structure to sign him, not sure what it would mean to the rest of the squad if it were to happen.

I also can't help thinking our new offer for The Yak is designed to force Bristol City's hand with Maynard, although by all accounts we already pulled that stunt with CMS & Brizzle didn't blink.

Seem to remember him playing in a pre-season against Quorn - and looking out of his depth!!

That's correct. I went to the game against Quorn & he was in goal, he was bloody useless & never played for City again.

Is Heskey still contracted at Villa?

If he isn't I wouldn't have thought we'd leave it this late to sign him what with him being an older player and his fitness levels, presumably, wouldn't be up to scratch :dunno:

May have seen you there mate .... i remember feeling so optimistic about the forthcoming season that day .... Carl Cort warming up behind us as we watched all our exciting new signings!

Martin Allen, what a genius.

Bert, if I were to hold a gun to your head and ask for some likely signings this week, you'd say...? (Comedy answer = pulling the trigger)

Unless something drastic happens, just Pantsil.

It's looking more and more likely that 2 of the signings will be Ball and Pantsil

Which means there will prob only be one or two more signings after that with a choice of probably one midfielder- Reo-Cocker, Routledge or Hargreaves

and one striker- Heskey, Maynard or Yakubu

What do people think?

By Jove! Old boy, you may have hit the nail on the head.

Just cos the so called hit list was for 12 don't mean it will be 12.

one or two might not want to join or even we took a punt on say danns or nuget and got em.

So we get 13 or 14 or sven might now say get me Yak or Maynard and that will do.

We may have already missed out on first choice and he can't find a better replacement to what we have.

Just my thoughts.

I'm still thinking that 3 will be enough to get us competing at the top, but I think we really do need 3 more very decent players. What we have now is strong, but I really don't think it's strong enough to set us aside from the pack, maybe marginally but not like I know we can. Would like to see the Yak come in. who knows if it will happen but would love him back. Maynard i'm confident we'll get, don't know why just got a hunch that we will, probably because we don't seem to be leaving him alone if the rumors are true, and there's so many of them I don't they're all crap. Not sure we'll get Reo Coker, Routledge or Hargreaves, but can see their futures being sorted out in the next week. Routledge has so much attention that he'll be gone soon, Hargreaves looks unlikely, not sure on Coker. Either way, I think we'll have Maynard, 50/50 on Yak, 0 on Heskey, and out of the 3 Routledge is the only one I can see really happening!

If Jason Banton and Michael Ball are included in our four other new signings then that is just stupid.

We need strikers come on Sven :sge:
