@cheyette Posted 17 July 2011 Posted 17 July 2011 According to Andrew Neville on the latest Foxes Player Video- there will be 3 - 4 more signings to come this summer- with one to be done by Austria- What are people's thoughts on who they are? I recon it they will be Michael Ball first Then Routledge or Hargreaves and then Maynard and/or Yakubu or Heskey

sphericalfox Posted 17 July 2011 Posted 17 July 2011 I could barely hear him in the interview for the chorus to this song blaring in his office Also I think the cleaners have been shortchanged on their uniforms! Anything to scrimp and save for Heskey and Yak's wages!
sphericalfox Posted 17 July 2011 Posted 17 July 2011 I'm surprised that Andrew didn't perform the 'milkshake' speech from 'There Will Be Blood'. Bristol City fans beware!
Steve Agnew Posted 17 July 2011 Posted 17 July 2011 He also said that were looking for players of the right age, with experience in this division, and who are good enough to step up the the Premier League. My guess by that description is Routledge and Maynard fit the bill.

My guess by that description is Routledge and Maynard fit the bill. He also did say they've negotiated well for some people and badly for others- i recon definitely talking about maynard and maybe also about routledge- they must be for scouting for back up players of similar age/ skill/ experience- not sure who fits that bill though
Guest Bilo Posted 17 July 2011 Posted 17 July 2011 Maynard and Routledge are the most obvious two. The transfer expected to be done before Austria is probably Ball. As for the fourth, no idea. Hargreaves appears to be have cooled down, as does Yakubu. Heskey perhaps?
dannythefox Posted 17 July 2011 Posted 17 July 2011 Svens already said if Ball keeps training the way he is he will be offered a contract so that's one others i think will be Maynard, Yak or Heskey and probably Routledge and Vitor.
sdb Posted 17 July 2011 Posted 17 July 2011 Ball has already signed. I'm hoping for Vitor, a winger and Maynard (or one of Hesk and Yak alternatively)
Phlashman Posted 17 July 2011 Posted 17 July 2011 I think 1 or 2 new permanent signings, then 1 or 2 loans once the premiership squads are out to pick up some rejects on big money.
Larry_LCFC Posted 17 July 2011 Posted 17 July 2011 To be honest I think we're at the point now where anymore than maybe 1 more signing is going to have a negative impact. Clearly we need a striker who can bag a load of goals but are we surely reaching the point where sven needs to make the team gel? We have already bought so many players in this transfer window and I really feel we should stick with what we have for now and try and build a team with it that can win us promotion. Great signings are meaningless unless the team actually play as a team.
ithuriel Posted 17 July 2011 Posted 17 July 2011 Sven wants a good squad, not just a good first team. He probably has a good idea who is first choice players are but want's players that can step in for suspensions and injuries without to much of a drop in quality.

Exactly, it's so essential that we go up this season he has to cover off the possibilities. Injuries can't be an end of season excuse.
Chazwaz Posted 17 July 2011 Posted 17 July 2011 I agree you need depth to your squad to get out of this league and have all bases covered. I really want Maynard to sign but the Yak i'd be happy with.
lee(lcfc) Posted 17 July 2011 Posted 17 July 2011 i say 2 signings, ball and a striker and tunchev to get a new contract and the squad is complete.

I still scratch my head at what went wrong. Yes, reporters can make any signing sound promising but the purchases of Andy Johnson and Hellings still read well - Oh, how wrong we were. Just goes to show...
funkyrobot Posted 17 July 2011 Posted 17 July 2011 This signing was a bit of a gamble http://webcache.googleusercontent.com/search?oe=UTF-8&hl=en&q=cache:6EoekWYj7YwJ:www.lcfc.com/page/LatestNews/0,,10274~1032543,00.html
sdb Posted 17 July 2011 Posted 17 July 2011 Martin Allen, what a genius. Bert, if I were to hold a gun to your head and ask for some likely signings this week, you'd say...? (Comedy answer = pulling the trigger)
Jakemoore Posted 17 July 2011 Posted 17 July 2011 How times have changed... Oh wow! its shocking how far we've come....
Bob Farley Posted 17 July 2011 Posted 17 July 2011 This signing was a bit of a gamble http://webcache.googleusercontent.com/search?oe=UTF-8&hl=en&q=cache:6EoekWYj7YwJ:www.lcfc.com/page/LatestNews/0,,10274~1032543,00.html Did he ever play?
FuriousFox46 Posted 17 July 2011 Posted 17 July 2011 One of Heskey/Yak, Michael Ball, Routledge and Vitor
