Trav Le Bleu Posted 24 July 2011 Posted 24 July 2011 So we've sold out to Real; great. But how many people will be there as the only game they will see all season? How many will have paid for that ticket sacrificing money that might have otherwise paid for a ticket to the Reading match? I know it's not as glamourous... but in terms of importance, it's 1000% ahead! Surely this will show us how many plastics went to see RM. By plastics I do indeed mean the people for whom this will be their only match all year. And when I say went to see RM I mean that - they don't go to see City, but that's who I go to see. So yes, I think it will be a crying shame if we don't sell-out the Reading game. We've proven that there's enough people who can afford it, but somehow I don't think we will. I hope I'm proved wrong.
Guest ttfn Posted 24 July 2011 Posted 24 July 2011 No chance we'll sell out for Reading. We might hit 28-29,000 if we buy a big name before then and smash Coventry.
Larry_LCFC Posted 24 July 2011 Posted 24 July 2011 All the plasticzzzzz will have gone back into the cupboard by the time the Reading match comes about. No chance of selling out methinks.

DJMadness29 Posted 24 July 2011 Posted 24 July 2011 What is classed as a plastic?? I manage to get to 3-4 games a year. Mainly because it costs me about £160-£200 every time I go as have to get to leics from Wrexham. I have paid to go watch Real but cant afford (for the first time in about 5 years) to go to the first game of the season. So does that make me a plastic?? Just wondering
Larry_LCFC Posted 24 July 2011 Posted 24 July 2011 I would like to think we would get atleast 28,000 - maybe more if we sign a decent striker between the Madrid game and the Reading Game. Plus I think Reading have a half decent following.

Just wondering Well i was being sarcastic cause the word plastic is thrown around way too much on here. Personally i wouldnt class you as plastic. I think its more people who turn up to the Real Madrid game and no other game all season. But **** knows - its an annoying term anyway

Corky Posted 24 July 2011 Posted 24 July 2011 I reckon we'll get 26k for Reading. The next time the first home match will be over 30k is if and when we are in the Premier League.
Larry_LCFC Posted 24 July 2011 Posted 24 July 2011 You have to take into account aswell that alot of people will be on holiday around the middle of august so you cant expect there to be as many people as usual. I for one will be leaving torquay at around 6am to get back for the game but not everyone has that option.
Happy Fox Posted 24 July 2011 Posted 24 July 2011 I don't know if I will be able to go to this I have a Biochemistry and Cell Biology resit that I will need to revise for
Larry_LCFC Posted 24 July 2011 Posted 24 July 2011 I don't know if I will be able to go to this I have a Biochemistry and Cell Biology resit that I will need to revise for You can resit the resit in a few months. We wont be playing Reading at home for quite a few years after this season - they wont be coming up with is. Biology is no fun anyway.

the_foxes_till_i_die Posted 24 July 2011 Posted 24 July 2011 well im not going to Real match because of all the plastics that will be there im saving my money from that to go to an away game ( Forest) way more important
AyewJoking Posted 24 July 2011 Posted 24 July 2011 Are you a plastic fan if you cant afford tickets to games or the money is needed for kids, bils rent etc?
Spudulike Posted 24 July 2011 Posted 24 July 2011 I'm going to Cov and Reading matches. I'm not going to the Real Madrid match. Not interested.
stillwater Posted 24 July 2011 Posted 24 July 2011 As above will be at Cov & Reading but can't be asked with the Real game would rather go Kettering on Tuesday
Guest MattP Posted 24 July 2011 Posted 24 July 2011 I'm going to Cov and Reading matches. I'm not going to the Real Madrid match. Not interested. Exactly the same. Wouldnt pay to watch a friendly on principle but like you said, no interest anyway.

Mike the Metal Ed Posted 24 July 2011 Posted 24 July 2011 We won't come close to selling out the Reading game unless we hammer Cov. The second game of the season is a much harder sell than the first, even if it's the first home game. The attendances for the second round of fixtures last season were appalling.
