Dan Posted 4 August 2011 Posted 4 August 2011 I just hate sitting down at away games. I don't know why. What if there's a kid behind me. Hell, what if there's a kid sitting next to me. I use curse words a lot, while watching football I'm sick of people having to change their normal routine at football for newcomers, like families. Family stand, I can understand no swearing in them stands but if there's loud songs from Leicester which contain swear words, which the family stand would hear, then so be it. I'm sorry but if you want to go to the football so badly, away at a local rival, then you've got to expect swearing, passion and abuse, if it's not to your taste, then don't go. I'll be swearing regardless.

You should expect swearing and passion at every ground and every match, not just local rivals. Why on earth are aways seen as more important to some people? Why is all the passion saved for away matches? FWIW, most kids I know are perfectly happy listening to the swearing etc., its just the job of their parents to make sure they're aware that's swearing isn't really part and parcel of everyday life (*takes off boring hat*). Also, abuse? I'll never understand outright abuse of other fans, just because they're from another city. Sure, banter and fun (eg. Bristol City and "you're just a small town in Wales") but abuse? Nah.

Should try and get young lads between 16 and 25 down to support there local club instead of going shopping with the Mrs. down Highcross.

I also told him there were people who like to sit down and support their team quietly and that we should respect their decision as they should respect mine to be loud and stand up. Hopefully those who wish to stand will be allowed to make their way towards the back and support their team vocally. There will be numerous supporters on Saturday who will be going to assist their priority status as it's an easy trip to make and they will be sitting down and be quiet. If we are all sensible we can have what we want. As I have always said there is strength in numbers so the 'standers' need to try and group together.

I know past years going to Cov there quite strict on standing at the front. So they should, when you pay £25 for seat you expect to sit. Even sits.

Nah. What on EARTH are you on about? I didn't say I was sick of people starting to support the club, totally twisted my words (or just mis-understood them). I was saying, the regulars shouldn't have to change because of newcomers, like for example families, why should people who've always swore, shouted etc... have to stop that because of newcomers? Got no problem with them coming in, the problem starts when they have a problem with my ritual. We don't save all passion for away matches, it's a consensus, you'll generally find the ones who'll travel to Ipswich, Hull, Doncaster & Cardiff are ones that do care more than your average person who goes to a few home games - no-one even bother say I'm generalising here either, it's fact that they don't go as many because they're not AS bothered, that's not a criticism. That's why there's more passion at aways, because a higher percentage of the Leicester fans there have a higher interest in it. The same applies for the local rivals comment, how do you know I didn't go off it when Abe put us 3-0 up at home to Ipswich? A totally pointless game? I went all 46 last year, and trust me, I didn't save my passion for any games, I had passion for them all. Abuse towards other fans is part of it. I simply cannot see how someone would rather be a little bothered when we win and a little disheartened when we lose, over being delighted when you win and fvcked off when you lose. Then again, that's just me, and that's my level of interest. You totally mis-understood.

As for this paragraph I'll state again that's not a dig at people who go 5/6 home games a season, that's simply a statement of truth that their interest isn't as high. And I'm personally not fussed if you go "I can only make 5/6 home games because of money/other commitments, does that mean I'm not interested" because you know full-well it doesn't apply to you so don't get technical.
