sphericalfox Posted 14 August 2011 Posted 14 August 2011 Surely the one big difference between Schlupp & Le Fondre is experience? Young Schlupp is really just on the starting line, whereas Le Fondre has several seasons of playing at professional level & consistently scoring goals, albeit in a lower league. I would not be at all surprised to see him joining The Sven Revolution & if he does that will not stop Sven trying to bring in another striker. It seems odds on that Steve Howard will be going to Sheff. Wed & I think Waghorn will be loaned or sold very soon, so we may need a couple more strikers? In Sven we trust. ( well I still do) So why haven't he been snapped up by some other high-flying team? Southampton have money and are looking for a striker, yet there's not been one story in the press about Le Fondue joining any CCC team. I am happy to be corrected. Links please.
topharry123 Posted 14 August 2011 Posted 14 August 2011 Riiiiiiiight, you've been banging Le Fondre's drum for a awhile now. Le Fondre failed to score against us. Schlupp scored 3 against Rotherham. Therefore Schlupp > Le Fondre. Schlupp failed to score against Reading. Therefore there is no need for Le Fondre. Yes we've seen Le Fondre against better opposition. Us. If Schlupp is going to struggle against equal or better organised defences than he's used to, then how is Le Fondre going to magic up this skill? But Schlupp was playing in a far superior team so was obviously going to have better service and a lot more chances. Schlupp has played two games for us. One he was great, the other average. Le Fondre has been consistently good for 3 seasons. All in all I think he's worth the risk. Others obviously don't, which is fair enough. This argument is obviously going nowhere as i'm not changing my mind and neither are others. I am a fan of his and hope to see him in a Leicester shirt. Until then none of us really know how good he would be but i think he would be worth the risk.
DANGEROUS TIGER Posted 14 August 2011 Posted 14 August 2011 Let's get shot of Waghorn, once and for all. Imo, he is 100% useless, and has no desire in him. Not worth Jack S--t. %

Happy Fox Posted 14 August 2011 Posted 14 August 2011 Is supposedly holding talks with West Ham on Tuesday
leicester4life Posted 14 August 2011 Posted 14 August 2011 If that's true, I might have a giggle when half of the "he's not good enough" brigade bemoan losing out on such a talent to West Ham.

Their just trying to get up our arses, you know what them footie fans are like I'd say were still in poll for Nicky, will come down to what he thinks of us on wends. There's absolutly no point in getting Fondler here, dnt care how desperate we are

Salieri Posted 16 August 2011 Posted 16 August 2011 Le Fondre just scored again. And Ryan Lowe for Bury.
Austin Posted 16 August 2011 Posted 16 August 2011 Le Fondre just scored again. And Ryan Lowe for Bury. I'd take the gamble on the lad. Just because he was quiet against us in the cup, doesn't mean he couldn't be a good player for us
Fox 4 Life Posted 16 August 2011 Posted 16 August 2011 Notice 2 "league one" strikers lambert and connolly are absolutely ripping the championship so far!
topharry123 Posted 16 August 2011 Posted 16 August 2011 Notice 2 "league one" strikers lambert and connolly are absolutely ripping the championship so far! Exactly some strikers play in lower leagues for years when they're actually good enough to play i a higher league. Seems like this has gone quiet though hasn't it?
phildw Posted 16 August 2011 Posted 16 August 2011 Notice 2 "league one" strikers lambert and connolly are absolutely ripping the championship so far! So far being the key words. Sides promoted always have the 'honeymoon' period after the excitement of promotion last season. Itrs a long season and Southampton will be fighting relegation come the end of season. History says so.
Criggers Posted 16 August 2011 Posted 16 August 2011 This guy knows here the back of the net is. And if there is one thing that's consistent between the leagues, it's where the back of the net is....

I'm sure there are plenty of other examples but i'm too tired (and lazy) to research. Saints will make the Play Offs this season. Think Brighton will do pretty well too.

Guest MattP Posted 16 August 2011 Posted 16 August 2011 Southampton will finish in the top two I think, they look quality..... Could be right, deffo top 6. Good youngish side, good strikers, players who run the bollocks off for each other. Similar to Norwich last year.
Happy Fox Posted 16 August 2011 Posted 16 August 2011 I would rather have Bradley Wright Phillips than ALF
Austin Posted 16 August 2011 Posted 16 August 2011 I would rather have Bradley Wright Phillips than ALF I bet you would. YOU GIANT BENDER. Edit: Harsh, but you deserved it. BWP IS SHIT.
phildw Posted 16 August 2011 Posted 16 August 2011 What absolute cobblers, hardly anyone has gone back down from this division after coming up in the last few years.... Didn't say they would go down just fighting relegation. There's always freak results first few games, same every season, so lets let the league settle down a bit and see where they are.
andog Posted 16 August 2011 Posted 16 August 2011 I'd still put in a sneaky bid for ALF - After watching him at the Don Valley, he definitely looked there brightest spark. If Leicester can create the chances, I'd bet my bottom dollar he could convert them. The back of the net has nightmare's about this guy. - (Adam La Zonza, as Sven would say)
