Dan Posted 22 August 2011 Posted 22 August 2011 What sort of argument is "he's not been snapped up by League One". So he'll be good if he gets snapped up by the Championship? That automatically dictates how good he is? It's crazy, like any side in L1 could afford him.
Hack Posted 22 August 2011 Posted 22 August 2011 Yeah but . . . He's not Didier Drogba! FFS Michael Kightly csme up from conference to championship then to premier league. Since injury hasn't seen much of him but doesn't mean a player in the lower leagues cant make the transition up. just needs a club to take a chance.

That automatically dictates how good he is? It's crazy, like any side in L1 could afford him. It wasn't an arguement, it was a point. There's been plenty of well off teams lookin for goalscorers in League1, and other teams in the Champ, and for some reason he's been looked past. Highly doubt we will go in for him
topharry123 Posted 22 August 2011 Posted 22 August 2011 Yeah but . . . He's not Didier Drogba! FFS Not saying he is, just making a point that just because he's not been picked up by a bigger side doesn't mean he couldn't play higher than he is. We don't know why he hasn't been picked up, could be a number of reasons. Many other players that have excelled in lower leagues have gone on to be great in higher leagues.

It matters not what the arguments are for Fondue, simple fact remains he won't play in a Leicester shirt because Sven will never sign him!
MrSpaM Posted 22 August 2011 Posted 22 August 2011 I can't believe this whole thread got started in the first place after Sven got asked on the moan in by a caller "Are we in for Adam Le Fondre" and Svens reply was "Who?" shortly followed by "Oh yeh Adam La Fonzra". This has clearly been a no-goer from the start.
lcfc_amie Posted 22 August 2011 Posted 22 August 2011 Fourth official Leicester alongside Coventry have big interest in Le Fondre, however they are scouting out other "options" for now #LCFC Don't know if this has already been mentioned.
cc_star Posted 22 August 2011 Posted 22 August 2011 Fondue will never ever play for Leicester...he's at the level he is because that's where he belongs (or maybe Chaventry...but that's pretty much the samething now )please stop this utter nonsense and let's move on! Plenty of clubs pick up players from lower division and make great players out of them with robust coaching etc Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, made the leap from Lg1 to the Premiership top5 for example

topharry123 Posted 22 August 2011 Posted 22 August 2011 And lots don't, reason...there not good enough...simples! so it's not worth the risk because some don't and because we already have higher quality players in Waghorn, Kermorgant and Howard?
sphericalfox Posted 22 August 2011 Posted 22 August 2011 I think topharry should call his first born Fondue.
topharry123 Posted 22 August 2011 Posted 22 August 2011 I think topharry should call his first born Fondue. If he joins us and bangs in 20 then maybe I will!
sphericalfox Posted 22 August 2011 Posted 22 August 2011 If he joins us and bangs in 20 then maybe I will! Well considering two thirds of this thread is you spoffing over Fondue, just thought you would do it regardless
topharry123 Posted 22 August 2011 Posted 22 August 2011 Well considering two thirds of this thread is you spoffing over Fondue, just thought you would do it regardless What can I say I just rate him very highly, and I don't get the comments about him not being good enough as he's not been looked at by bigger clubs before. Seen him play a few times and have been extremely impressed with him over the last few years and always hoped we'd come in for him!
FOXMAN2 Posted 22 August 2011 Posted 22 August 2011 Well considering two thirds of this thread is you spoffing over Fondue, just thought you would do it regardless Well cant SVEN work his charm and get him on loan for a month play him off the bench then we might know if he can score in our league with 1st chance of buying him if he ticks all the boxes. .YEA i know this cant happen ( OR CAN IT ? )

They'll sell him or keep him.
Danny the Fox 95 Posted 22 August 2011 Posted 22 August 2011 Would stay clear of this signing if I was Sven

bluearmyfox23 Posted 22 August 2011 Posted 22 August 2011 Rangers are supposed to be offering 750k for him some time this week !
He's not bald Posted 22 August 2011 Posted 22 August 2011 Rangers are supposed to be offering 750k for him some time this week ! Ahh... now that's different SPL football being generally equivalent to league 1 he would probably do pretty well!
oxford blue Posted 24 August 2011 Posted 24 August 2011 Reported on Sky Sports that Rotherham want £350k and add-ons worth £50K. For me, worth a punt at that price to see if he develops into a quality player

Maynard and le Fondre would be great busnisss this week. I just wish we could get all the dead wood out of club and trim squad a bit, by this i mean Moreno, Howard, Waghorn, Oakley, Berner, Mousa etc etc and maybe some more ive forgot, we need a trim 23 man squad and get this season going.

Agreed - I think Le Fondre, might make a decent backup player to have. He must be a lot more effective than Waghorn currently is. I agree, I think it would be great to get Le Fondre and someone else better, like Maynard, in before the end of the transfer window. I agree, we do have too many unwanted players, but I'm not sure Moussa is one. He's only 22 and he could be one for the future. I think you forgot Kermorgant, Logan and Crncic. It's weird that Howard and Oakley were given new contracts not so long ago, when it was clear to see we wouldn't be needing them this season.
