Leicester City Football Club is delighted to announce two new Platinum Partnerships for2011/12 npower Championship season.

A new partnership with AirAsia sees the Malaysia-based airline strengthen its existing relationship with the Foxes, while the Club is also delighted to welcome the Tourism Authority of Thailand on-board ahead of Saturday's opening home game against Reading.

King Power Stadium's East Stand is now renamed the AirAsia Stand, while the Tourism Authority of Thailand's branding will adorn the back of City's first team shirts for the whole of the 2011/12 season.

Leicester City Chief Executive Office Susan Whelan said: "We are delighted that AirAsia and The Tourism Authority of Thailand have decided to be major partners of the Club. Both organisations are highly respected and we are honoured that they have chosen to be associated with our Club and to work with us to extend their reputation within the UK."

Tassapon Bijleveld, CEO of Thai AirAsia, said: "AirAsia is very excited to be part of this world-class partnership. We strongly believe in the importance of achieving success through great team work, and it is an honour to support a leading team.

"Through our collaboration with a high-profile Club such as Leicester City, we hope to promote our beautiful destinations, as well as the connectivity that we offer throughout Asia at low fares."

The Tourism Authority of Thailand's 'Amazing Thailand' branding will be positioned on the back of City's first team shirts throughout the 2011/12 season. Supporters who wish to have the exact playing shirt branding on their replicas can have the Amazing Thailand branding added to new replicas in the "make it personal" zone in the new City Fanstore.

Leicester City Vice-Chairman Aiyawatt Raksriaksorn said: "It is no secret that we are aiming to increase Leicester City's profile, not just in the UK, but across the World, with particular regard to Asia. Partners such as AirAsia and the Tourism Authority of Thailand underline the Club's intentions to continue to work with first-class partners, as we strive for excellence on and off the field of play."

Not sure where this is all going to end, the owners seem to genuinely care and all this advertising revenue will bring in the wonga but I think they need to remember we are an English league club not Thai

You have to wonder where it stops but at the same time they have put around 10m in transfers alone. So without this we don't have the kind of investment that's been taking place.

Wonder how many will come out all guns blazing with their complaints on here though.

I'll assume there's going to be some sort of recipricol deal where AirAsia associate Leicester City to their business in Asia to further develop our support. If that's the case I don't see a problem in it at all.

" you have to wonder where it all stops" is definitely commentating with a view to moaning. loitering with intent, if you will.

Like many on here, you don't seem to understand the concept of middle ground.

Just because I'm not exclaiming my unconditional love for the owners I'm moaning? (PS. I really enjoy and appreciate what they're doing for the club and am very excited for this season).

So no, there is no subtext of moaning.

It's all about making the club self sufficient. Soon the new regulations come in that you can only spend what you make in revenue. Without sponsorship deals like this we will never be able to compete in this league let alone the Premier.

Can't imagine why anyone should complain about this. It's highly respectable sponsorship and likely to be quite lucrative. I just think the new owners have set their sights higher than previous administrators and have seen the massive potential of this club that has long been apparent to some of us.

The owners whole philosophy seems to be to set standards both on and off he field and, in the main, they seem to be succeeding. I'm not impressed by my season ticket failing to arrive, or the time spent queuing at the club shop on Tuesday but these things may be just teething troubles and of little consequence alongside the many things being done right.

The place is buzzing no question and, for the first time I can remember in years, we seem to be properly prepared for the new season, apart from the problem of sorting out a new centre-forward and, I'd hope, a new winger.

If the owners eventually end up making a bumper return on their investment, so long as the club remains safe and on sound financial foundations good luck to them. The way I see it so far is that we're all benefitting and long may it continue.

I've just been in the club shop and there are mugs, fridge magnets, badges and tee-shirts with King Power stadium on them. I don't mind being ripped off buying Leicester City merchandise but I'm not paying through the nose for an advert for a duty free shop.
