Jimothy Posted 21 December 2011 Posted 21 December 2011 Just two points in six games for Newcastle, surprising. Coincided with the renaming of the stadium. Or the less likely reason they've had Tiote, Coloccini, Gutierrez and a couple of other injuries to players who were key in their success up til recently. They coped well with the loss of Tiote, Cabaye and Gutierrez. It's been the loss of the two centre backs, Colocini and Taylor at the same time, whilst Williamson was also out that's done them. Forced to play Simpson and Perch in the middle against Norwich. Both are full backs and Perch is woeful in any position. The defence is what they built the success on early on, and now it's fallen to pieces.
StanSP Posted 22 December 2011 Posted 22 December 2011 Arsenal vs Wolves postponed til Tuesday 27th Dec. I forgot that the Tube was the only way to get around London. I've got this brand new idea - it's called bus replacement services. Secondary brand new idea - taxis. Tertiary brand new idea - walking. In other news, Manchester United will not call off their home game against Wigan on boxing day despite the proposed tube strike in London
Father Ted Posted 22 December 2011 Posted 22 December 2011 Stoke set to bid for Junior Hoilett according to tabloids, if thet get him I will feel sick, the lad has so much more potential.
leicesterisme Posted 22 December 2011 Posted 22 December 2011 Stoke set to bid for Junior Hoilett according to tabloids, if thet get him I will feel sick, the lad has so much more potential. Wankers! Could see him ending up at somewhere like Arsenal personally. He's got a lot of talent.

In other news, Manchester United will not call off their home game against Wigan on boxing day despite the proposed tube strike in London Not really possible in reality though. The Tube is a mass transit system capable of transporting thousands, upon thousands of people quickly and directly - i'll stand corrected but the capacity for a Tube train is 1,000. If they were to use buses, the sheer number of buses they'd need to put on is ridiculous. Plus, the number of buses going directly to the Emirates is minimal, people travelling from the outskirts would need to catch numerous buses. Taxis aren't a feasible alternative either. Cabs aren't exactly the cheapest thing at the best of times and i'm not sure many people could afford to shell out £30 each way on a cab after Xmas. Not sure i'd fancy your shanks' pony idea either - the Wolves fans' would have to walk from Euston to the Emirates which is about 3/4 miles, and i'm sure there are Gooners dotted all over London who wouldn't fancy the trek. For the sake of 24 hours it seems like the logical decision. Moving on, it should be a decent game between Spurs and Chelsea tonight. I reckon it'll end 1-1 with Terry scoring for Chelsea.
marko Posted 22 December 2011 Posted 22 December 2011 1-0 Spurs - Adebayor Looked like Cech bottled it a bit.
marko Posted 22 December 2011 Posted 22 December 2011 You wait, 'Arry will be harping on about it being 'andball from Ashley Cole.
Frost Posted 22 December 2011 Posted 22 December 2011 Sturridge better be on that plane for the Euro's.
Corky Posted 22 December 2011 Posted 22 December 2011 Ended 1-1, both sides had chances near the end but Chelsea dominated the second half. Spurs will be happy with a point after that.
Corky Posted 26 December 2011 Posted 26 December 2011 Man City draw, Man Utd win, Liverpool and Chelsea both draw at home, Newcastle win for the first time in a while. Bolton can't build on a good away win and Blackburn get a good point at Anfield.
Father Ted Posted 26 December 2011 Posted 26 December 2011 Some right dodgy results today on such a big betting day, hmmm...
Corky Posted 26 December 2011 Posted 26 December 2011 Stoke v Aston Villa was every bit as thrilling as it sounds.
Jimothy Posted 27 December 2011 Posted 27 December 2011 Sammon's sending off for Wigan against Man Utd is an absolute joke. Dowd needs a few weeks off to think about how shit a ref he is after that.
THFC6061 Posted 27 December 2011 Posted 27 December 2011 Dimitar Berbatov Scores the Premier League's 240th Hat-Trick Dimitar Berbatov's three goals for Manchester United today in their 5-0 home win against Wigan Athletic was the 240th hat-trick scored in the Premier League Era. It was Berbatov's fifth hatrick, the fifth scored by a Bulgarian, the 29th scored by a Manchester United player and the 9th conceded by Wigan Athletic. It was also the 11th hat-trick scored in the current 2011-12 season (17 were scored last season). Full details available here... Premier League Hat-Tricks 1992-93 to 2011-12
Corky Posted 27 December 2011 Posted 27 December 2011 Arsenal drew 1-1 with Wolves. Swansea leading QPR, slightly controversial goal. Warnock spends more time moaning at the fourth official than trying to sort his team out.
Matt Posted 27 December 2011 Posted 27 December 2011 Wankers! Could see him ending up at somewhere like Arsenal personally. He's got a lot of talent. He'd get ruined if he went to either or those two clubs in that case. Stoke - Hoof ball and dirty. Arsenal - Whinging and dirty as soon as Arsenal went 1 behind.

Arsenal - Whinging and dirty as soon as Arsenal went 1 behind. Bullshit. Arsenal are one of the best teams at nurturing young talent. Look at the way they brought the likes of Fabregas, Cole, Kolo Toure, Song, Wilshire, and many more, either through the academy or signed as young players, and then slowly introduced them into the first team, only making them regulars when they are ready. I wish Rooney had gone Arsenal, Fergie has overplayed him from the age of about 18/19 and never gave him a rest, even when injured, and now he's ruined as a player in my opinion. He's very good, but England would have twice the player had he been nurtured by Wenger.

I have just merely commented that he would also be taught to become whinging and dirty as soon as they go 1-0 down, which you cannot deny, it is fact, just like what you have wrote above is.

Well to be fair, name a football team that doesn't change when they are under the kosh. Almost every team will start to get desperate and frustrated. Fly in to the odd tackle, show disdain at a refs decision they think is yet another harsh one against them. Arsenal are no different to Man Utd, Chelsea, Bolton, Blackburn or even our own Leicester. They all do it. It's just you're deep entrenched hatred of all things Arsenal makes you think they are the only ones.

Afterall, 'Arsenal are the best footballing team in the country.' © Shame that win's them **** all.
Jimothy Posted 27 December 2011 Posted 27 December 2011 Ok. Fair comment. Afterall, 'Arsenal are the best footballing team in the country.' © Shame that win's them **** all. Well yeah, I'll admit I love watching Arsenal play, but they do need to be more ruthless. That's what puts them and Liverpool behind Man Utd, Man City, Chelsea and even at the moment Spurs. But fact still remain if Hoilett wants to improve as a young player then Arsenal would be the perfect place for him to go because they'll use him properly and he won't turn into a whinging twat, because they're all whinging twats no matter what club they play for.
