chili_con_carne Posted 13 August 2011 Posted 13 August 2011 www.foxestalk.co.uk/forums/index.php?showtopic=74181&st=620&p=1911497entry1911497 my post on that page looks spot on currently. Mcdermott is a great motivator and imo one of the best managers around at the moment. He gets the best out of players. You might find noel hunt scoring a lot this season and being sold for a bit. He got the best out of matt mills, but will he perform under sven. Someone who isnt a great motivator.
Merchant Posted 13 August 2011 Posted 13 August 2011 You can't be proved wrong or right after 3 games, especially when he looked good in 2 of them. Pull yourself together man.

I dont care. Theres no excuse to play as badly as he did today. End of. He wasnt very good at cov nor rotherham so what you on bout? Plus scored an own goal. At the moment it looks a poor signing

Fox92 Posted 13 August 2011 Posted 13 August 2011 I have seen three games where Mills has been captain (Cov, Rotherham, Reading) and I have a few points. . He isn't worth 5million. . He doesn't look like a captain. . People used to get on at Hobbs' passing, but Mills' passing is as bad/worse. He doesn't seem to talk (or talk little), or calm the players down or get them motivated. Yet, today I saw Wellens and Kasper talking more. I have faith in his ability, I liked him at Reading, but I don't think he is worth 5million. I maybe proved wrong, hopefully. I am, but I have seen little so far to indicate he is worth the money. Three games can shape what player he is. I also thought he could have opened his body up more when he conceded the own goal at Rotherham.

broughtonblue Posted 13 August 2011 Posted 13 August 2011 Give the bloke a break, everyone has a bad at work sometimes.
blueharmie Posted 13 August 2011 Posted 13 August 2011 i hope he improves, but today it looked as though he was playing upfront for reading , his defending was shocking.
Burmesefox Posted 13 August 2011 Posted 13 August 2011 Walshy took ages to settle in the side - calm down chap!
stix Posted 13 August 2011 Posted 13 August 2011 I could put this weeks wages down that the majority of the playa haters that will be posting in here are the people that have ONLY seen Matt Mills play today.
blueharmie Posted 13 August 2011 Posted 13 August 2011 mills needs to act as a captain, he didnt do that today. ive seen more passion in sunday league.
The Doctor Posted 13 August 2011 Posted 13 August 2011 oh hurrah, the doom merchants don't wait long do they?
kingfox Posted 13 August 2011 Posted 13 August 2011 He isn't a bad defender, but he isn't worth £5 million and he shouldn't be captain. Many people would say the same thing, making a new player captain is ridiculous. He was flaming poor today, Reading fans got the better of him, his passing was shite long balls not much better. Reading fans have got there thoughts on him spot on, expect good performances but not week in week out, and expect frustration which I clearly saw today.
Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 13 August 2011 Posted 13 August 2011 He is a typical old school defender who gets rid when needed which is what we needed, but is quite annoying considering that is what Jack Hobbs was and we got rid of him. I dont believe anyone who is a new player should be given the armband. Players should be an experienced player in the squad and earn it. He was poor today, but could be a good signing, just need to give him a bit more time.

It's funny how everyone was loving him being captain before today.
Fox92 Posted 13 August 2011 Posted 13 August 2011 It's funny how everyone was loving him being captain before today. Not everyone I wanted, and still want, Wellens over Mills as captain.
Nocturnal Posted 13 August 2011 Posted 13 August 2011 Not everyone I wanted, and still want, Wellens over Mills as captain. I did notice that Wellens was the only one giving Schmeichel a bit back
Fox92 Posted 13 August 2011 Posted 13 August 2011 I did notice that Wellens was the only one giving Schmeichel a bit back Yes, well, he was talking more again today Wellens. Matt Mills didn't seem to speak, motivate or calm at all.
Bob Weasel Fox Posted 13 August 2011 Posted 13 August 2011 Mills had a shocker today but give him time and im sure he will turn out to be a very good signing
kingfox Posted 13 August 2011 Posted 13 August 2011 Mills was clueless, thing what grates me is everyone thought Mills was going to be a good signing one of our best. Yes he is good but certainly not captain material like I said above, need someone vocal only player who seems to be doing that is our flaming goalkeeper of all players. Kasper is the man, while Mills is pissing clueless.
Frost Posted 13 August 2011 Posted 13 August 2011 Mills was absolutely diabolical. Not normally pessimistic and I'm not going to go for the 'What a waste of 5m' line, but he was shite.

I think if you do go and decide purely on those characteristics you would have to give it to Wellens.
