Matt Mills

Get a grip people. Yes he was abysmal today, but one bad game does not make him a bad player. He's already proven himself more than enough in this division.

I think if you do go and decide purely on those characteristics you would have to give it to Wellens.

I agree but I'm not certain he's going to be a guaranteed starter every match this season.

No-one will know better than Mills himself that he had a shocker of a game today, but I still think that he will turn out to be a good signing, so give the guy a fair chance.

If you were to give it to a player who's been at the club for any length of time then it would be wellens or king but King does tend to fade into the background, particularly away from home and isn't vocal enough whereas wellens too frequently flatters to deceive and, with Danns, Fernandes & Johnson having arrived he almost certainly won't start week in, week out.

I'm not saying Mills should be captain (personally I'd choose Kasper) but he has experience of captaincy and will probably play most games.

Just an example.

Roger Johnson has been made captain at wolves and he has just signed. they won today.

To say a newcomer shouldnt be considered for captain is ridiculous. Mills is a good centre back, and he is a leader, regardless of what ANY of you say. He captained Reading.

Why not Leicester?

1 fûcking game man. 1 game.

It really is ridiculous, that people are already moaning, just because we lost a game. They seem to think our season is over, before it has properly started.

As for the boo boys, grow up, and act your age. You should be ashamed of yourselves. You are certainly not, true Leicester supporters.

You have to consider him playing the team he just left and the one he captained to the play-off final. He never looked up for it today and he WILL be a good signing. He's never worth 5 million but at the end of the day he's one for the future not just now. He needs games to settle in as do all players. No player comes in and plays excellent from the very beginning. Yes he had a shocker but come Wednesday or Florest on Saturday he would (hopefully) have got his act together and will perform the way his price tag shows.

Why is no one recognising the fact that he was was playing against his former team whose fans happen to (for some reason) hate him. The players can still hear during matches you know, and as soon as it started going badly for him it was always going to be a struggle for him today once they had an excuse to abuse him. Does it excuse the performance? Obviously not, but I'm just a bit surprised no one else has really attributed it towards the shocker.

Exactly. Not so long ago people were slating Bamba, Mills had a shocker today but he's not become a terrible player overnight.

5 million for him, he had a shocker. no wonder reading fans gave him stick all through the game. you can normally expect that if you signed a big player to receive stick but they were taking the piss and piss granted.

mills' passing is awful. it's funny that people go on about replacing hobbs for a ball playing cb and all mills does is spray shite balls over the top

hobbs and bamba would be a great partnership..why the hell did we let him go!

Not everyone  I wanted, and still want, Wellens over Mills as captain.

Because Wellens gave an absolute masterclass in midfield today didn't he?

Strange how his captaincy skills went unnoticed by both Pearson and Sousa, and now by Sven.

Or could it be that he just doesn't have any?

not necessarily hobbs>>mills but he really needs to cut that shit out..he also looks ridiculously overpriced next to 250k bamba, free konchesky and free pantsil. oh well...onto the next game.

Konchesky wasn't free.

And of course he's overpriced, most would agree with that. Just shows how much we wanted him. And clearly we wanted him for a reason, even if he didn't show it at all today.

st ledger give him a go why is mills captin should off been wellens or kasper not this waste but give him time i guess but noway captin

Yet another poster on Foxestalk whose logic is consistent with their literacy skills. :frusty:

Mills received the armband because he is a leader - as those who saw him at Cov will confirm. He didn't have the easiest of home debuts today but he will prove himself over the course of the season.

mills had a poor poor game just as bad as the people serving beer and stuff shocking he needs to pull his socks up this boy only person out there today with passion was king kasper

I don't know why people are saying 'one game', he hasn't been good in thee three games where I've seen him live.

I'm wasn't saying that Wellens should be captain because of one game :frusty:

Wellens talks more than the other players, especially more than our captain at the minute. I didn't see Mills 'lead' at Cov, as you put it.

This happens, people have corrected me before, but I'm not here to sit an English exam.

Fair enough, but the grammar and spelling of some posters on here is so bad it's very difficult to understand what they're trying to say.
