Haydos Posted 15 August 2011 Posted 15 August 2011 Was away over the weekend and haven't been on. Didn't get to listen to the game either so can't even get involved in the discussions but for **** sake it's like we're bottom of the league and its March in there. Might stick to gen chat til we've got a few wins under our belt. Feel free to let off some steam in here if you feel just as depressed by it
ajthefox Posted 15 August 2011 Posted 15 August 2011 Similarly, I hadn't been on since the game until a couple of hours ago and I wish I still hadn't. 5 minutes of browsing was enough to put me right off, don't intend on going back in there until at least wednesday night, and that's only if we absolutely hammer Bristol 5 - 0.
Messi Posted 15 August 2011 Posted 15 August 2011 Exactly the same here. If we lose I don't go on there, some of the peoples comments are fooking ridiculous. People act as if we are losing every game. People praise players when we win and then say drop the same players when we lose. Its a joke
Simmo86 Posted 15 August 2011 Posted 15 August 2011 If we don't win on Wednesday I fear we could have a few suicides on our hands!
Guest Bilo Posted 15 August 2011 Posted 15 August 2011 The LCFC sub-forum pisses me off. How long should Sven be given? Drop Matt Mills! Just fuck off with your overreactions. That goes for if we win our next two as well. Whoever starts a 'we're gonna win the league' thread or something similar, I will end you.
JadeFalcon Posted 15 August 2011 Posted 15 August 2011 some people just have no ****ing clue really. 2 games one loss, get the **** over it heh. imho the mods need to start clamping down on it, there must be over 20 threads of people picking ****ing fault. there really should be some form of intelligence test to get on here. plastic fans and their expectations are what have destroyed us year in year out since O'neill

I don't frequent the LCFC Sub-Forum half as much as I used to because of all the knobs who post their shit in there.
Guest Bilo Posted 15 August 2011 Posted 15 August 2011 I would just like to point out the following as well, Reading lost their first game of the 2005-2006 season at home to Plymouth, a result that would probably have inspired an East Midlands version of Jonestown and went on to do this. Would that have happened if every Reading fan had got on the team's back from the very off? People do need to calm down, one defeat doesn't mean the season's going to pot any more than one win means the Football League should save time and give us the title in August.
StanSP Posted 15 August 2011 Posted 15 August 2011 It's peoples own expectations of the club. They set themselves up for a fall. They expect us to romp every team by 4 or 5 goals. I had no idea Reading only lost 2 games that season though!
Rincewind Posted 15 August 2011 Posted 15 August 2011 I dont visit them because I dont feel I am qualified to comment on them with just being an armchair fan but after reading this thread about those posting there maybe it would not matter that I do not actually see the games. On Saturday City played a team that may well be challenging for a top six place. They played a system that City were unable to cope with on the day and paid the price. As a team they did not perform to the best of their abilities. It happens in football. Even to Man Utd (Admittedly not as often)) get over it and look forward to the next game with renewed optimism-not too much--taking each game s it comes.

Its f**king unbelievable in there. I'm genuinely shocked every time I start reading one of those threads, you assume the OP is some lone nutter on a rant but then you see the deluge of comments like "totally agree m8". Surely we have more deluded armchair managers than most clubs, surely.
davieG Posted 15 August 2011 Posted 15 August 2011 You lot sound more depressed that all those that you're moaning about. I think the suicide watch should be moved to this thread.
21st Century Fox Posted 15 August 2011 Posted 15 August 2011 You lot sound more depressed that all those that you're moaning about. I think the suicide watch should be moved to this thread. There's being depressed that your team won one and lost one and then there's being shocked at how easily other people can work themselves into a frenzy and have absolutely no optimism after their team wins one and loses one.
ScouseFox Posted 15 August 2011 Posted 15 August 2011 It's funny in there, I like it. People think Richie Wellens is good, Sven should be sacked soon and we should stop trying because we're already too far behind Derby. Jokers.
Rincewind Posted 15 August 2011 Posted 15 August 2011 I think if it goes on there will also be a few assisted suicides But remember it's assist before suicide not visa versa.

Zingari Posted 15 August 2011 Posted 15 August 2011 Football is all about extreme emotions though , and there's no point berating the fans who get excited to the point of frenzy and then just as quickly be down in the dumps , it's a great release for some fans who do this If you want to calmly analyse every match in a well reasoned emotionless manner that's fine too , but i really don't see any problem with fans having their little bit of "agony and ecstasy"
I am Rod Hull Posted 15 August 2011 Posted 15 August 2011 It doesn`t really bother me any more if we lose.. I just say to myself "it`s only a game".. Bullshit posts about how bad Sven and Mills are, on the other hand..

People do need to calm down, one defeat doesn't mean the season's going to pot any more than one win means the Football League should save time and give us the title in August. Reading had (and still have) no history, no high-profile ex-international manager, no host of international signings or national pundits predicting a title. So the level of expectations was completely different. If we have pretentions of returning to our status as a big club, we should learn to deal with the pressures which will inevitably arise.
21st Century Fox Posted 15 August 2011 Posted 15 August 2011 I agree that people should be emotional about the game, I can understand being emotional about a result, there surely wasn't a City fan that wasn't disappointed at the weekend, but its the "its all down here from now" brigade that can wind up some of the more reasonable among us.

accessory Posted 15 August 2011 Posted 15 August 2011 There were also some part-timers on here, Twitter and elsewhere who didn't go to the game, but took it upon themselves to berate those who did for giving an honest reaction to the result and performance. Sadly, we have to accept that as being part and parcel of a modern-day fanbase.
Marmite Posted 15 August 2011 Posted 15 August 2011 Loads of people getting upset saying we have no chance of going up blah blah blah Can I just state that Norwich lost there first game of the season to Watford last year and they got promoted People need to calm down, 2 goals from 2 set peices. The players know they have had a bad day at the office and if you look on there twitter accounts they are distraught and can not wait till Wednesday to put it right.
