Babylon Posted 30 August 2011 Posted 30 August 2011 i was using that as an example of the price and the quality of player And I was using my post to highlight it means bugger all when the player is god knows how much older and on 5/6 times the amount of wages.
Simmo86 Posted 30 August 2011 Posted 30 August 2011 Brizzle would be nuts not to accept that! They'll reject it no doubt, stating they 'dont want to sell to a championship rival' and will go onto be relegated!

wolfgang amadeus Posted 30 August 2011 Posted 30 August 2011 If I was in their position I'd be wanting 6m for a guy with one year left.

Guest Basildon Fox Posted 30 August 2011 Posted 30 August 2011 Fanhouse UK reporting that NM has turned down a move to Leicester I doubt this is true as we would not have spent the summer continually going after him without encouragement to do so. If we have it would be incredibly unprofessional and would have to question why we have continued to flog a dead horse for so long.
Bettsy82 Posted 30 August 2011 Posted 30 August 2011 Nick Maynard has rejected us, the yak it is then, still happy.
ThurnbyLodgeFox Posted 30 August 2011 Posted 30 August 2011 maynard wouldn't reject us without speaking to us.. unless something against FA rules is going on, there is no way he would know what we have to offer
the_foxes_till_i_die Posted 30 August 2011 Posted 30 August 2011 Nick Maynard has rejected us, the yak it is then, still happy. Yak is going Blackburn!
Jobyfox Posted 30 August 2011 Posted 30 August 2011 I don’t know whether these rumours of Nicky Maynard rejecting us are true, or not, but it wouldn’t surprise me, at all, if they were proven to be correct. NM has had practically all summer to force through a move to us and hasn’t done so. I believe that he was/is waiting to the last possible minute to see whether a Premier League club comes in for him. It might just be the case that he isn’t interested in coming to another Championship club. In a way it’s refreshing as it shows he’s not just motivated by money. The position of Bristol City is a little more difficult to make sense of. Currently he’s a £6m asset that will depreciate very quickly if he does not sign a new contract. Despite the noises from Bristol fans of their man not needing to sell it would simply not make any business sense to lose millions on their asset. They need NM to sign a contract extension, badly, if he is not sold before the deadline. Could it possibly be that NM has already agreed to sign a one year extension with BCFC (probably with release clause) if the bid from the PL fails to materialise in the next 48 hours?

Finnegan Posted 30 August 2011 Posted 30 August 2011 If Maynard rejects us I will bet heavily he's had word of bigger interest than us.
Jobyfox Posted 30 August 2011 Posted 30 August 2011 that is probably because he wanted to stay on Bristol fans side just in case a deal didnt happen Maybe you’re right, but I’m nervous because I’ve not seen any shred of encouragement throughout this saga that NM would even entertain a move to us. Hopefully over the next 48 hours my concerns will prove misplaced, particularly if we run out of other targets.
Lesta Legend Posted 30 August 2011 Posted 30 August 2011 Although us not getting Maynard may end becoming reality, I would take what a anti Leicester, Nottingham based journalist says with a pinch of salt...... What will be will be
Jimothy Posted 30 August 2011 Posted 30 August 2011 I know the tabloids print absolute bullshit most of the time, but I love how people are believing something called Fanhouse Percy and not the Mirror, the Sun and even bloody Stringer.

Rusko187 Posted 30 August 2011 Posted 30 August 2011 Does anyone actually know what's happening with this? Just hope he signs, he was awesome against us!
