We are now looking at a amazing 7 different Strikers been told we are turning to desperation.

Erm.... We pretty much knew Sven had a long list, this hasn't changed. And please stop posting things like "we're desperate", its just conjecture and just riling people up - not helpful at all.

Situation should be nearing its resolution by the end of this video.

So Maynard's destiny is to be a benchwarmer at Wigan or alike. Good luck to him. dry.png

Jesus wept. Do wish people would stop overreacting, especially when we know nothing.

Exactly. Andrew Neville's been in the game long enough to know what the crack is. I'm confident we'll be sorted one way or another.

Its not like we've left it too late, Bristol & Maynard by all accounts were the ones dragging their heels. Sven's in a lose-lose situation, if we pursued Maynard and don't get him, its a waste of time and left it too late, if he went for someone else it'd be a 'getting second best' situation and people would complain.

On iPhone so can't copy and paste but transfer hawk eye says he's not rejected.

Edit: wait I can!

Maynard has not rejected #lcfc. Unless they broke FA Rules by speaking to him without permission. #nobidaccepted #bcfc

and the fact that Sven keeps going in for him, suggests he his sure Maynard will join if given permission by #bcfc. #lcfc

Don't come into this thread, posting all your 'sense' and proportionality. Where exactly do you think you are?

I think what is happening here can best be explained as below.

Draw a circle. Then every ten degrees put a name on with a speech bubble saying 'It wasn't me I got it from --' (next name in circle) and continue until the circle is complete. :scarf:

Left it too late or not. It would have been mind blowingly stupid for us to have gone after him this way for 2 months if he wasn't interested. If we really wanted him we should have not fannied about at the start and offered the money they wanted. If they have accepted a bid from us now and he turns us down do you not think it would make us look a little bit stupid?

What have they been thinking if he was never interested? Did they think they could just wave a wad of cash in his face and he would run from Bristol to Leicester? This is a non sensical situation to have left ourselves in should he turn us down.

I would also suggest that if we can not get another striker in who is any better than we already have then we should be patient and wait for the 25 man squads to be officially announced from the Prem before looking perhaps at a loan with a view to a permanent transfer.

They have tried to hold on to him. They have not named a price.

From OTIB

"City have made a serious offer for both Jem Karacan and Reading team-mate Sean Morrison.

Fee in region of £2 million although dependent on major outgoing..

FR"

If true then I can assume the "major" outgoing is Mr Maynard........

Not too sure about that. They have consistently said that no one has met their valuation in interviews. How come we would all of a sudden know what that was. All it seems to me is that they have stuck yo their guns and we have offered what they wanted anyway. Surely this would be the most pointless, drawn out situation that I can think of in over 30 years of supporting Leicester if he now turns us down. We will look like absolute fools.

Er..... no. The way I perceive it is that BCFC have turned down a large seven figure sum for one of their players with a year on his contract. That would be fine if the player was prepared to sign a new contract but Maynard seems reluctant to do so. It would seem in the first instance BCFC are fools unless they sell the player on in the next couple of days as they will have no chance of a decent fee.

With regard to Maynard, he has/has had the chance to move to a larger Club in the absence of PL Clubs coming in and looking to buy him. Clearly he wants to be in charge of his destiny to some extent and I am sure he thinks that without a fee he can pick and choose but who is coming calling? That is the mindset of someone looking to be a bench warmer at Wigan and alike.

Much better, now go and post something in the Edgar fookin Davids thread, maybe asking for a source?
