LCFC_FAN_1995 Posted 22 August 2011 Posted 22 August 2011 Bury have had good start so I would like this, but probably sven will play 2nd team Weale (unfortunetly) Peltier - Bamba - Mills - Konchesky Wellens Fernandes Danns KingVassell - Schlupp Subs: Smith St.Ledger Abe Nugent Waghorn
Larry_LCFC Posted 22 August 2011 Posted 22 August 2011 I think this Bury game is a blessing in disguise. Even if we somehow manage to lose it *cough* Weale *cough*, least it gives us Kasper back for arguably the most crucial game so far on saturday.
Vlad The Impaler Posted 22 August 2011 Posted 22 August 2011 GK. Weale RB. Peltier CB. Mills CB. St Ledger LB. Konchesky CDM. Oakley RCM. Abe LCM. Johnson CAM. Gallagher ST. Schlupp ST. Waghorn
ScottybRAF1553 Posted 22 August 2011 Posted 22 August 2011 Only change should be the forced one in goal. Other than that 10 out field should stay the same in same formation as it was looking very good for most of the game against forest. Build on that and grow some confidence. He won't but I would like to see that.

Raw Dykes Posted 22 August 2011 Posted 22 August 2011 When I used to play FM, it was these sorts of games that I used to dread the most. I'd want to give all my best and available reserves and youngsters a go, and get any unfit players closer to match fitness. I'd often go into a cup match expecting an easy win and get knocked out by a lower league team, so you have to get the balance right between giving opportunities to fringe players and using enough quality players if you want to stay in the competition and avoid embarrassment. I expect a second string team should get through this round, so I think we should rest our best players for Soton in the league on Saturday. To play a bit safer, I'd take a strong bench. The rule is 7 subs for the League Cup which is good. This diamond formation is definitely the way to go, at least until we get some good wingers in, and we seem to be a lot better away from home at the moment, so I think this should work well. I had a tough time choosing between Weale and Smith, but I see this as a good opportunity to try to give Weale back some confidence - we all know that he was a pretty reliable keeper under NP, and he should be looking to sort himself out now to be ready if he has to be thrown into the first team again. It's also a great game to get Johnson and Ball on the way to being fully fit. I'd want to see how well Gallagher can perform in the hole, making clever passes for the strikers. I picked Mills because he's captain, and while he had a much improved game on Saturday, I think he could do with this game to settle in more and gain a bit more confidence. Also, we'd get some idea as to how well he'd work with St Ledger in central defence. If it goes horribly wrong, there's plenty of quality on the bench that should be enough to rescue the game. Bench: Smith Bamba Konchesky Fernandes Danns/King Vassell Nugent

Tommy G Posted 22 August 2011 Posted 22 August 2011 Anyone have any clue how Johnson is getting on? Whether hes close to starting or getting fit? Have this horrible image of him training then going home, plugging in the x box and spending the afternoon with rustlers and wkd's
Narborough_fox Posted 22 August 2011 Posted 22 August 2011 adamsmith_1 Adam Smith In the squad against Bury tomorrow new squad number #31

Narborough_fox Posted 22 August 2011 Posted 22 August 2011 only allowed 5 subs. plus I think Sven will play most 1st team, Bury away will not be easy! Allowed 7 in the League Cup. Only the Football League and JPT where you're only allowed 5.
gazfox9 Posted 22 August 2011 Posted 22 August 2011 I'd definately put out a 2nd string side. Do we not have that dick reffing us who done Middlesboro' away last year? The last thing we need are suspensions or injuries to first teamers. Deffo a chance for the likes of Dyer, Moussa, Waggy, Schlupp, Ball, Smith, Berner etc..........

Guessing he can't be too far off.
Father Ted Posted 22 August 2011 Posted 22 August 2011 I would start Moussa, Peltier and Schlupp and keep the rest pretty similar to Saturday.

THEfox Posted 22 August 2011 Posted 22 August 2011 Weale Peltier Bamba Mills Ball Abe Wellens Johnson Gallagher Dyer Schlupp Think it is important to give Mills and Sol as much playing time together as possible to build an understanding. Also Dyer would would rip these apart
Raw Dykes Posted 22 August 2011 Posted 22 August 2011 Thank christ we have your experience to guide us. I don't like to shout about it, but I did win the Champion's League with Hinckley Utd, so it's the least I can do. Always glad to help out!
