Callabinho Posted 24 August 2011 Posted 24 August 2011 Certain plaets suit certain styles, and certain managers benefit certain players, Nigels Suited waggy down to a T, ball over the top for him to run on to, he is strong, quick and back then confident too, so his finishing improved as a result, however due to both sousa's and Sven passing style waggy couldn't adapt, both managers wanted a more technically gifted player down the middle, so waggy was pushed out wide where all of his weaknesses were exploited! I do feel sorry for him and will be sad to see him go, but I wish him all the best and hope that he can find his form again! He is a top lad!
Babylon Posted 24 August 2011 Posted 24 August 2011 I think he'll join the list with Max Gradel and DJ Campbell as players we'll look back on and go "Ah, I wonder what the problem was here". Pearson didn't like them in our system and style. It happens to every team, players come and go, sometimes players work in your system sometimes they don't. It really doesn't need some kind of inquest.
Nick Posted 24 August 2011 Posted 24 August 2011 I think he'll join the list with Max Gradel and DJ Campbell as players we'll look back on and go "Ah, I wonder what the problem was here". Of course you do. Otherwise how can you say "I told you so" further down the line? Question: Waghorn is angry, frustrated and wants a place in the starting eleven but is not demonstrating he deserves that on the training field or when given an appearance for the first team. Given our position and expectation would you put him in the side week in week out not scoring starting with Southampton to give him a chance? (You for one would be chanting 'Sven Out' louder than usual) If not, the lad wants to play regular football, let him go, good luck to him. He may go on to score 18 goals for Doncaster or Derby but he is not going to do that here this season so I will not regret his move if this happens. You are not just pessimistic you are becoming tediously negative towards the football club.

Pearson couldnt deal with their attitude, same with that Andre Blackman guy, all shipped out because they probably spoke out.
@mrtonycox Posted 24 August 2011 Posted 24 August 2011 I'm not negative I love and support my club.. I was concerned about Sven's appt from day 1 given his track record of spend and leaving with wads of cash.. I want to see them in the premiership and desperate to see my son's face when watching premiership teams, he's only young and was in tears when we lost out in the play offs. It was only a few years ago the club was in dire financial problems, we must be mindful of this. It's not pesimism if you wanted a manager with balanced ability and not just a knack of buying their way out of the league. As I always say I'm happy to be proved wrong and hope I am, I've never said told you so... The point of a forum is for all views to be aired, some you agree with some you don't.. If you don't agree with someone's views it doesn't mean their negative or pessismistic..

You could start by answering the question in my post above.
MrSpaM Posted 24 August 2011 Posted 24 August 2011 Schlupp has pretty much taken Waggys place in the squad, it's no surprise he wants to leave really. Good luck to him wherever he ends up, as long as it's not Derby.... or Forest...... or Hull..... Maybe a loan move to Charlton?
LCFC BEAST Posted 24 August 2011 Posted 24 August 2011 Waghorn's been awesome and a credit to Leicester. Just not performed as well under Sousa/Sven then in the Pearson era. Good luck to him and all the best!
Joethemightyone Posted 24 August 2011 Posted 24 August 2011 Surely this belongs in the transfer section. For goodness sakes when will people learn to respect the laws of this forum?!?!?!
@mrtonycox Posted 24 August 2011 Posted 24 August 2011 Instead of criticising everything then, why don't you write what you would actually do? You could start by answering the question in my post above. I would start my giving Waghorn a few games to prove himself and not depend on Schlupp who's still young and looked out of his depth in non cup games. I don't know what has happened in the background nor conversations between Sven and Waggy so can't ultimate give an opinion without facts. But Waggy has only played lits bits here and there, a starting place and a full match may make all the difference. I would say that my Sven bashing led to cries of it's only 4 games, I would say the same applies to Waggy. Every striker has a bad run. I realise he's off and wish him all the best wherever he goes, and hope a really profilic striker is about to join for us. Nick, I'm all for an easy life as it's too short, I'll cut my biting if you cut yours... Virtual handshake and virtual pint offered.

Mack Posted 24 August 2011 Posted 24 August 2011 When he came on loan he was superb. Since he signed he has been by and large cack. You could say it's because he got a good contract and lost his hunger, you could say he's been unlucky. What you cant argue us he's had plenty of chances under Sven to come on and prove he is worthy of a starting place. He has failed to do so and has moaned at times about limited opportunities. It's now better for everyone he moves on.
Joethemightyone Posted 24 August 2011 Posted 24 August 2011 I smell sarcasm.. You have got me all wrong
Nick Posted 24 August 2011 Posted 24 August 2011 Now THAT'S funny!!! A level of hypocrisy I hitherto suspected but didn't think I'd see so blatantly delivered!! I was wondering how long it would be before you saw the similarities between yourself and Tony. I have posted my footballing thoughts on this matter - no hypocrisy, just you Col, trolling for a weakness. If you remember I asked the same thing of you? You gave it a go to be fair but it exposed you enough to give everybody the information they needed.
OriginalRobboFOX Posted 24 August 2011 Posted 24 August 2011 This has got Hull written all over it.....

You were the thread starter for SVEN OUT - we don't have time to nurture a player in the first team by giving them 5 games to maybe start scoring against weaker teams. - I rate Waghorn, I simply believe he is not an auto promotion winning striker and he's not happy on the bench. Virtual Pint accepted. N.
Bob Weasel Fox Posted 24 August 2011 Posted 24 August 2011 Defo gonna end up at Hull under NP and defo gunna score a shit load of goals for them, typical
OriginalRobboFOX Posted 24 August 2011 Posted 24 August 2011 All this on the day he gets called up to the U21 squad!! FAIL.

I reckon the Oxford English pretty much sums you up nick....
DANGEROUS TIGER Posted 24 August 2011 Posted 24 August 2011 Total bulls**t. The quality was there often enough when he played under Pearson, just as it was for Weale, Dyer, Hobbs and others. But like them, he wasn't one of Sven's chosen men. Now, that really is total b------t.. The guy played, but just has not performed. You don't pick a player as a regular, if he can't do the job properly.

I love the fact you looked up what paranoid meant so you could explain it to me.
