21st Century Fox Posted 23 August 2011 Posted 23 August 2011 For the people saying the club should have treated him better, this seems like a pretty honest and humane way to treat him actually. When you think of how much young talent goes to waste in the top leagues in our country, we're allowing him to leave so he can push on with his career rather than being strung along on the fringes of our team. I don't think he could really cope with the hype and level of expectation once he moved here permanently so hopefully he can move on somewhere where he doesn't have a fairly large price tag hanging over his head and build himself back up. Good luck to him!
iBleedLeicesterColours Posted 23 August 2011 Posted 23 August 2011 Gutted for Waggy. Loved him under Pearson. Anywhere but Derby though mate ..

Good luck to him! Yes I agree with this completely... Just look at young Ash Chambers... York city won five one tonight and ash set up four... He's enjoying his football at York apparently
Ozwin Posted 23 August 2011 Posted 23 August 2011 He will always get a warm welcome when he returns to the KP. Love the guy, I still think he should be given a bit of time.
TheUltimateWinner Posted 23 August 2011 Posted 23 August 2011 Good Luck Waggy, Shame though he has got potential, Just dosent show it. I could tell it was time too move on for him as he didnt look threatening against kettering... Bad times
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 23 August 2011 Posted 23 August 2011 I'll drive and I've only got a provisional.
thybluefox Posted 23 August 2011 Posted 23 August 2011 Agree with everyone in this thread tbh, is a shame but it's time to go. No matter what position a player plays, if they're good you can see it. Waggy just hasn't been good enough. Don't forget Sven sees him everyday at training, he'll know exactly the standard he's at.
panky and our gang Posted 23 August 2011 Posted 23 August 2011 Good luck Waggy it's a shame it did not work out but he still has time and youth on his side. I still think he was bought on his potential and Sunderland thought well it's too much to turn down for a player who may not cut it in the prem . But he always gave his all and on a personal note I hope he comes good and proves a lot of people wrong . Waggy you still gave us a few magic moments.
DANGEROUS TIGER Posted 23 August 2011 Posted 23 August 2011 He just does not have the quality, to wear a Leicester shirt. Personally, although I wish him well, I will be glad to see the back of him.
accessory Posted 24 August 2011 Posted 24 August 2011 He just does not have the quality, to wear a Leicester shirt. Personally, although I wish him well, I will be glad to see the back of him. Total bulls**t. The quality was there often enough when he played under Pearson, just as it was for Weale, Dyer, Hobbs and others. But like them, he wasn't one of Sven's chosen men.
panky and our gang Posted 24 August 2011 Posted 24 August 2011 Hope he reads some of this and realises most of us knew he gave his all and thank him for that . Good luck Waggy .
fleckneymike Posted 24 August 2011 Posted 24 August 2011 Steve Bruce has rinsed this club for close to £6million over the years. Waghorn is in illustrious company along with DJ Campbell, Stephen Clemence and Bruno N'Gotty. I don't rate him, never have rated him and never will. He's a poor mans Iain Hume, and he was dog turd too. Running around a lot does not make you a good player.

HoustonFox Posted 24 August 2011 Posted 24 August 2011 Making space for return of Iain Huuuuuuuuume? (sorry, I am catching up and just heard the phone in after the Reading game with the caller that suggested it)
renards Posted 24 August 2011 Posted 24 August 2011 A comment mentioned to me from within the training ground was that a lot of the players here pre Sven were given silly pay rises and have gone from reasonably level headed to the big 'I am's' Bound to happen I guess and a quick look around the car park would suggest that also. All a bit deluded.
Callabinho Posted 24 August 2011 Posted 24 August 2011 Sven was getting ripped on Twitter last night for this, I mean I think waggy is a smashing lad but have all these people moaning acctually witnessed his latest contributions? Now come be honest he has been terrible! I'd rather see him do well somewhere else tbh than rot in our reserves!
MikeyT Posted 24 August 2011 Posted 24 August 2011 When we signed him permanently from Sunderland on deadline day, i was absolutely over the moon that we'd got him back for good. Obviously he hasn't lived up to the hype and potential we all thought he would and could argue he hasn't had enough chances to prove himself. He's still young and has time to get better and better given the chance. All the best to him wherever he ends up next.
bluesbrothers Posted 24 August 2011 Posted 24 August 2011 Meh. Let him go to Doncaster where he can get in the team week in week out. Do him and their club good. Wish him the best, but come on - he's been piss poor since he came, with the exception of a decent run at the end of last season.
Karljohn Posted 24 August 2011 Posted 24 August 2011 Wasnt his last start in October in the league? I dont think he's had as many minutes as Howard under Sven which is quite amazing given Howard's record in front of goal. No doubt any fee will go towards the relentless pursuit of a player who doesnt want to come here anyway, have a feeling this will come back and bite Sven on the ass, good luck Waggy.
Darkon84 Posted 24 August 2011 Posted 24 August 2011 Another Max Gradel in the making. A year from now, when he's scoring shedloads at another club, those slating him now will be the first to whinge at Sven for selling him. I dont always agre with your posts, but thats spot on. I'm with you there
@mrtonycox Posted 24 August 2011 Posted 24 August 2011 I think he'll join the list with Max Gradel and DJ Campbell as players we'll look back on and go "Ah, I wonder what the problem was here".
Babylon Posted 24 August 2011 Posted 24 August 2011 I feel for the lad, but he just hasn't taken the chances he's had to make any kind of impact. Where as someone like Schlupp has most definitely taken his in the cup games. I'm sure with a bit of confidence he will do very well for someone, but how can Sven warrant giving him a start when he can't even control the ball when he does get onto the pitch. Will we regret it?... probably. But sometimes it takes a fresh start for someone to find their game again, just because he does it somewhere else doesn't mean it would have happened here for him had he stayed. The isn't one persons fault it's not worked out, it's a collection of things with Pearson going, Sousa coming in, then Sven coming in, not forgetting Waghorn himself who doesn't seem to have shaken the cloud hanging over him to actually warrant more game time. I'm sure Sven will get blamed, but having witnessed most of the chances waghorn has had, I really don't know why. Had he shown he could be a good player the chances would have been there like those Schlupp is starting to get. Thanks for the efforts, I'm sorry it hasn't worked out like we all wanted and good luck!
