Webbo Posted 23 August 2011 Posted 23 August 2011 Yep, I heard that too. Inevitable really. Good luck to him.
Guest Col city fan Posted 23 August 2011 Posted 23 August 2011 Fair enough if he wants to go..off he goes
NorthernFox Posted 23 August 2011 Posted 23 August 2011 Will be sad to see him go, but best wishes and good luck for the future.
Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 23 August 2011 Posted 23 August 2011 Could have been given more of a chance and should have been treated better.
HEGGSY Posted 23 August 2011 Posted 23 August 2011 Bye he just wasnt good enough which is really disappointing and annoying considering the saga that built up before he signed...but good look and all the best he gave 100% in terms of work rate every time
Suffolk_fox Posted 23 August 2011 Posted 23 August 2011 I echo these sentiments. Under NP he was blue to the bone despite being on loan. Good Luck Waggers, just don't score against us!!
Stevosevic Posted 23 August 2011 Posted 23 August 2011 Been awful since Pearson left, no point him being here. Bye.
MC Prussian Posted 23 August 2011 Posted 23 August 2011 Feel sorry for Waghorn and even more sorry for all the fans that got WAGGY on the back of their shirts.
Houdini Logic Posted 23 August 2011 Posted 23 August 2011 No doubt we'll try and buy him back in few years time, thinking he was the best thing since sliced bread, wondering why we ever sold him and conveniently forgetting the endless games where he produced fook all for us... Good luck Waggy
accessory Posted 23 August 2011 Posted 23 August 2011 Another Max Gradel in the making. A year from now, when he's scoring shedloads at another club, those slating him now will be the first to whinge at Sven for selling him.
Thracian Posted 23 August 2011 Posted 23 August 2011 I've never been his greatest fan and thought his purchase price ridiculous. But, he's got a certain raw talent which we've never made the best of and how he fares in the game may well depend on whether he can find the sort of mentor who will take the time and trouble to get the best from him.
Petchy Posted 23 August 2011 Posted 23 August 2011 I think he's one of those that with time will be good, but Sven is looking for success right now instead of having to wait and nurture a player / players for a length of time.
whitlock Posted 23 August 2011 Posted 23 August 2011 Like Bert said, Sven thinks Schlupp has/will have more potential than waggy
m00nie Posted 23 August 2011 Posted 23 August 2011 I think he's one of those that with time will be good, but Sven is looking for success right now instead of having to wait and nurture a player / players for a length of time. i think sven just dont rate him.. look at schulpp.. hes quite prepared to play and nurture him so that blows your theory out the window imo
Freeman's Wharfer Posted 23 August 2011 Posted 23 August 2011 He's had his chances but just looked worse and worse, never helping himself recently by stepping up for every set-piece and delivering nothing. Really liked him under Pearson but add him to the long list of players that never reached the heights they did under Pearson: Hobbs, Fryatt, Weale. He'll do well at his next club with a fresh start and a bit of confidence. A player finding a new club normally means they're leaving for free, I take it we're still after a fee for him?! He should fetch at least £1.5million hopefully.
StarFox Posted 23 August 2011 Posted 23 August 2011 Another Max Gradel in the making. A year from now, when he's scoring shedloads at another club, those slating him now will be the first to whinge at Sven for selling him. He will do well for a club, and I think he'll do very well in the Championship. I just hope he goes to the right club.
Nocturnal Posted 23 August 2011 Posted 23 August 2011 Could have been given more of a chance and should have been treated better. He's had plenty of chances, and when was he treated badly?
sdb Posted 23 August 2011 Posted 23 August 2011 Hard to judge. Maybe hasn't had a fair crack of the whip under Sven, but he's been awful in most appearances. With the right manager he could be very good, and at one point I thought he was a Prem player in the making. Not so sure now, but will improve with regular game time. Hope we get £1.5mill for him.
Guest ttfn Posted 23 August 2011 Posted 23 August 2011 Heart of a lion, touch of a rapist. Good luck to the lad. After giving up a shot of playing for his boyhood team to come here he deserved better. Shame it hasn't worked out for him.
FoxyPV Posted 23 August 2011 Posted 23 August 2011 He unfortunately never lived up to his billing/ potential and I think his price tag hung like a millstone around his neck. Good luck to him (obviously not against us though)
Leicester_Loyal Posted 23 August 2011 Posted 23 August 2011 Bye bye Waggy, Waggy goodbyeeeee, Waggy bye bye.
Guest shearfox Posted 23 August 2011 Posted 23 August 2011 I was delighted when we got him and never thought he would struggle so badly, don't know what went wrong but he never shown the form when he was on loan to us. Good luck to the lad and I hope he does well, sadly it never worked out for him here.
Guest Col city fan Posted 23 August 2011 Posted 23 August 2011 Simply comes back to the argument that certain players play well for certain managers.... There's lots of examples to pick from: Paddy kenny/ shaun derry for warnock Lennon/izzett/ gupppy for MON Fryatt/Hobbs for Pearson Etc etc.... Waggy was at his best under Pearson but has never looked like the same player under Sven. I posted in a thread earlier this week that I still rate waggy.. But Sven don't fancy him for whatever reason and, at this present time, that's what matters. He needs to join a club where he is going to get a consistent run in the first team and where he can feel that same thing he felt with Pearson It's of little loss to us because he and Sven don't seem to have that player/manager thing going on
