Walk into any team? Jack Cork isn't even that good. Lallana is decent but not better than a fully fit Johnson or Fernandes.

Fvck off.

This post now seems a little silly...what Leicester would give for two midfielders like Cork and Lallana right now. And Hammond. And Schneiderlin. And Guly.

So, what's the news up there? Who's taking over as Manager? MO'N would be awesome. I would really rather you lot went up with us than West Hoof United. They were the worst footballing side we've seen at St Mary's for a number of years....and we played Dagenham and Redbridge last year...

I went to the saints game on saturday as a guest of a friend from basingstoke , and i must say saints looked a very good side.

The 3rd goal was awesome.

how we could do with someone like your midfielder with the bald head who chased and harried everything ( Chaplow).

If Leicester could show the passion for the game as they did , with the players we have things would look a lot brighter.

Told you I'd be back at the end of the season.

Too many posts on here to laugh at all of them so I selected the best ones:

Would personally say ours is stronger. Could only see Lambert & Lallana making our XI

Still think only Lallana and Lambert would make your starting XI?!

1. St. Ledger is a back up

2. you say you have the best defence in league one...this is the championship, a whole lot harder than that division.

3. You say you will be back here, when we beat you on saturday and prove you wrong, I highly doubt you will.

1. Is he? Plays a lot for a back-up.

2. 3rd best defence in this league, not bad. And one of the teams with a top two defence has scored nearly half the amount of goals we have. The other won the league.

3. I'm here, and I was here after you beat us too.

Brighton, with Mackail Smith fit, will stay right up there.

Southampton, as cocksure as they are, will not.

Wrong.

'Strongest in League 1' says it all for your defence. Facing quality, they will crumble time and time again this season.

Wrong. See above.

You have four good mids by my count, but with minimal experience at this level. Alot of teams in this League have good midfielders but are seen as weak, Leicester's are now a differant level completely.

Haha. Good one.

As for our defenders

-----------Kasper

Pantsil. Mills. Bamba. Konch

Don't underestimate Mills, he's gaining momentummatch by match now, and the Leicester lad has a real passion for the club. On his day he can bring back games at the death, he taught us that last season, could be time for your lesson.

Probably the best comment of the bunch for me. £5m well spent.

Posted by simmo86 on 26 August 2011 - 11:31 AM in Leicester City Forum:

In terms on team spirit maybe, but in terms quality in your squad is nowhere near us.

We've done pretty well on team spirit alone then haven't we.

Posted by SpazticChicken on 26 August 2011 - 11:14 AM in Leicester City Forum:

That debt will only count if we don't go up, and I don't doubt Sven and his players ability to get us up this season.

What happened to Sven again?

You've probably looked up at Norwich last year and thought this time it could be you. The fact is your team is still riding of the confidence of last year, and a few bad results could spell the end of your ambitions.

Wrong.

You have a weak defence, and average midfield but like to play attacking football. We have a very strong defence, a very varied, skilled and quality midfield and a world class manager.

A world class manager? hahahahahahah. I can't believe how well we've done with our weak defence and average midfield. If we have a weak defence and an average midfield, how does the Leicester defence and midfield compare?

Posted by simmo86 on 26 August 2011 - 10:48 AM in Leicester City Forum:

ahhhh the old won our first 4 games so I'm going to give it the billy big stacks!

Its August muppet, lets see where you are at the end of April!

2nd. And promoted.

I can guess the reaction to this post - hate-filled vitriol, but given the abuse I got the last time I was here, I was always coming back to gloat when we got promoted.

As for Leicester, well, I genuinely hope to see you up in the Premier League soon. Nigel Pearson was a great re-appointment; he's well liked amongst Saints fans and will hopefully be given plenty of time to build a solid defence and a good team. Even though some of your internet forum fans are completely mis-guided (see above), the fans in the stadium are some of the best in the country. Good luck next season.

we beat you twice. that's all that could be asked of us regarding you. you can't deny you were shit when ricky and adam l were out the side, either.

Posted

Yes we were. Awful at home against you. To be fair though, we had more players missing for that game other than Ricky and Adam. We were also missing Richard Chaplow and Jose Fonte. We played Iago Falque that day - his one and only appearance for us. Any team with 4 starters missing is going to struggle. The game at the King Power was more even, and a good result for you. But you don't play 1 team; you play 23.

There was an interesting topic on here a few days back showing how each team got on against the top and bottom half of the league, It showed Saints took a ridiculous amount off the bottom teams, like 2.5 points a game or something, but struggled generally against the top teams, im guessing about 1.5 points a game. This is why I cant see you doing anything but coming straight back down unless you gut your team out and bring in some real quality. Well done though, and cheers for the 6 points, not that it made any difference in the end.

Posted

Wow, what an expert, it is amazing how right you can be after the event.

Good luck to Saints next season, they are going to need it, will you be back on here after getting relegated with the lowest points total in the history of the premiership?

:P

In all seriousness, you are going to need to invest heavily, how are your finances looking? From what I saw you are currently not good enough to stay up, admittedly what I saw were the 2 games against us, but when you see the quality of some of the teams fighting it out at the bottom this season, and Reading have the money to invest, I honestly don't see you seeing making much of an impact, we will wave as we pass you this time next year.

:P

we were missing players too and you can only beat the team put in front of you. excuses ain't gonna cut it in the Prem, son.

Cheers for the six points though.

Why do you think that wholesale changes is the only way forward??! Is that the 'Leicester way' or something? That really worked well for you lot this season didn't it. This whole 'you took 2.5 points per game against the bottom teams and only 1.5 points per game against the top teams' is the biggest load of shit I've ever read. We were one point off being champions. What the **** are you talking about???! But if we do have to buy players, our owners are the fifth richest owners of all football clubs in the country, so I think we'll be fine.

Oh and I was right before and after the event.

Do you want me to find it for you?

Posted

No, my point is that it makes no ****ing difference where we got the points from!! You have to play 23 teams, not the top 10, or the bottom 10. How does that little piece of analysis take into account where the teams were in the league when you actually played them? It doesn't take any account of form, injuries, suspensions. Utter nonsense. The only thing that matters is where you finish after playing all 23 teams twice.

Posted

bigdutchy, well done, credit where its due.

most of this forum is full of moaners so you coming on here gloating doesnt help in fairness.

you came 2nd and deservedly so, shame we couldnt be up there and joining you this season but not meant to be.

we beat you twice but thats no good when we have barely beaten any of the bottom sides...

p.s. Adam Lallana is the best player i've seen this season in the Championship

Have to agree with you on this, I'd happily swap with you lol

There's no reason why you can't stay up without making wholesale changes. Norwich and Swansea have done it.

Bigdutchy, cool your pants sister. Saints got to where they did on merit, foxes are where we are on performance too. Well done chap.

Sole the wall Bamba - The basis of how well saints do next season will have nothing to do with this season. Some teams that have won the championship at a canter have gone straight back down whilst other s that has scraped through in teh playoffs have stayed up there.

Yeah I suppose so, guess I'm just bitter because I live in Southampton. lol

Retrospect is a wonderful thing, eh? Any supporter of any team could come here and say the same as you - just replace Southampton with the appropriate. It is common knowledge we under achieved, but as individuals our players looked a lot more promising. Even you have to admit that? But that's irrelevant now anyway as they simply couldn't coexist as a team and that is what is vital in the Championship. We're on the right path now with Pearson and we're all looking forward to next season.

Cheers for taking the time and bumping this topic though 'dutchy' - must be a slow day at work if your allocating your time to post on another teams forum from near enough a year ago....

I assume these bits were aimed at my post, if you use the quote button it is easier to see who you are responding to.

I don't think wholesale changes are the best way forward, but I also don't see you staying up without improving your squad.

It was a genuine question about your finances, because I know f'ck all about them, for some reason I thought you were skint, if you have some money to spend and don't disrupt your team spirit by doing so you could be ok, but Norwich and Swansea have signed a surprising number of players of this season, as was pointed out to me, admittedly not all are starting every game, but it was about a 11 players each.

The point made about only beating the weaker teams is valid as you will not be facing weaker teams in the prem, and if you struggle against the top clubs in the championship, it could be a long season next season.

Genuinely wish you the best of luck, but honestly think you will struggle, as would we if we had gone up this season.

Edit: You weren't right about the Leicester match before the event,

the 30 mill (i think) they owed doesn't have to be paid back, it got converted into shares. southampton are laughing.

Good luck next season. Always nice to see the small teams punching above their weight.

In all seriousness, good luck. I think we're 2 similar clubs and hope we'll see you in the prem next year!
