bigdutchy Posted 26 August 2011 Posted 26 August 2011 Walk into any team? Jack Cork isn't even that good. Lallana is decent but not better than a fully fit Johnson or Fernandes. Fvck off. Ok. Lets follow up on this discussion on Sunday after we've watched the game tomorrow. I'm pretty confident you'll think otherwise. Cork will boss the game like he has done for the first four games.
LCFC_FAN_1995 Posted 26 August 2011 Posted 26 August 2011 Very strong defence? Really? St Ledger is a calamity - expect more of the types of mistake you saw against Bristol City from him. The Reading manager and chairman must think Christmas has come early - in 2 deals they've made a net of £4.6m and actually upgraded their centre half position. Weak defence? Best defence in League One last year. Also, we've conceded half the amount you lot have so if you insist we are weak, care to describe your defence again? Average midfield? Lallana and Jack Cork would walk into any midfield in the league. The only accurate things you post contained was the fact that you do have a quality midfield - Fernandes and Danns are both quality. And you do have a world class manager. Or at least, he was once. Not sure whether that is still accurate. I'll pop back on here on Sunday, win or lose, and I'll pop back on here in April too. Quite happy to take the flak if I'm wrong. 1. St. Ledger is a back up 2. you say you have the best defence in league one...this is the championship, a whole lot harder than that division. 3. You say you will be back here, when we beat you on saturday and prove you wrong, I highly doubt you will.
iBleedLeicesterColours Posted 26 August 2011 Posted 26 August 2011 4 4 fackin 2. Gallagher in the starting XI That is all.
21st Century Fox Posted 26 August 2011 Posted 26 August 2011 I have a feeling it might be close but no cigar for Southampton this season like us when we had the spring board effect following our promotion, no doubt they'll be stronger the season after.
Fox92 Posted 26 August 2011 Posted 26 August 2011 Schmeichel Pantsil -- Bamba -- Mills -- Konchesky Wellens -- Fernandes -- Danns Dyer -- Nugent -- Vassell Gallagher in the starting XI Please no.
Leicester_Loyal Posted 26 August 2011 Posted 26 August 2011 Schmeichel Pantsil -- Bamba -- Mills -- Konchesky Wellens -- Fernandes -- Danns Dyer -- Nugent -- Vassell Please no. 442. Or we'll get beat.

Guest Col city fan Posted 26 August 2011 Posted 26 August 2011 Schmeichel Pantsil -- Bamba -- Mills -- Konchesky Wellens -- Fernandes -- Danns Dyer -- Nugent -- Vassel Please no. Id pick exactly the same team fox 92 Apart from I'd play schlupp down the middle and nugent to replace vassell
Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 26 August 2011 Posted 26 August 2011 Gallagher in the starting XI Please no. Well said. Same team that played Forest, with maybe Peltier in for Pantsil. The lack of width in the team playing with this selection is worrying but it seemed to work vs Forest.
bigdutchy Posted 26 August 2011 Posted 26 August 2011 Thing with Southampton and Brighton is they might be starting off well but they don't have the squads to maintain it all season. We might have started off crap but we know that we have players who can come on for other players and do a job. Time will tell I guess. Me again. I will argue your point about us not having a strong squad. We could put out the two teams below: Kelvin Davis, Frazer Richardson, Jose Fonte, Dan Seaborne, Dan Harding Guly do Prado, Jack Cork, Dean Hammond, Adam Lallana Rickie Lambert, David Connolly Bartosz Bialkowski Danny Butterfield, Rahdi Jaidi, Aaron Martin, Danny Fox Steve de Ridder, Morgan Schneiderlin, Richard Chaplow, Lee Holmes Lee Barnard, Jonathan Forte Plus we have - Jason Puncheon, Ryan Dickson, and some decent youngsters. And there's talk of an additional striker and centre back coming in before the end of the transfer window so our squad will be pretty deep.

acooling08 Posted 26 August 2011 Posted 26 August 2011 Dutchy, your team isn't anything special. But team is the key word here. Your players play very well as a unit, none are stand-out by themselves. Couple that with your momentum from League 1 (most League 1 champions start well in the CCC) and you are bound to start well, especially with teams like Leeds on opening day thinking they'll walk over you. Tomorrow I reckon you'll beat us because we have great individual players who haven't gelled yet and we have only picked up 1 point out of the last 3 games, but I am confident that we will finish higher in the League come the end of the season. Good luck for the rest of the season (apart from against us), I always kind of liked Southampton.
bigdutchy Posted 26 August 2011 Posted 26 August 2011 Who?...... Well, the names in 'Team 1' you will know pretty well by 5pm tomorrow as they will have run your overpaid cast-off's ragged and taught them a lesson about how to play football. As for the names in Team 2, some of those will be involved from the bench in the aforementioned lesson. The other names in Team 2 we may put out against you when you come to our place later in the season to give the 'Team 1' guys a rest. It is a squad game after all.

And I agree with you to be honest, I suspect in the long run once your new players have bedded-in you'll put a good run together and be there or thereabouts for promotion come the end of the season. . Despite my bravado, I've gone for a draw tomorrow.... Our team isn't anything special at all. We have one special player without whom we could struggle, but it's the unity that has been so good in the first few games.

I highly doubt it'll be one sided for either team. Just looks set to be a good match all round, which i intend to enjoy.

Share a cosy conversation on here with an away fan and tell him his team are gonna win! Disgraceful behaviour!!!!

Podge Posted 26 August 2011 Posted 26 August 2011 My first game of the season tomorrow, been far too long since I was last at a game. Can't fookin wait :trumpet:
Bob Weasel Fox Posted 26 August 2011 Posted 26 August 2011 Kasper Pantsil Mills St Ledger Konchesky Danns Fernandes Wellens King Vassell Nugent Subs Abe Bamba Schlupp Peltier Dyer
Merging Cultures Posted 26 August 2011 Posted 26 August 2011 ..................Kasper........................ .......Pantsil Mills Bamba Konchesky............ ..................Wellens........................ ......Fernandes.............Danns............... ...................King.......................... ...............Nugent Vassell................. Weale St Ledger Dyer Schlupp Gallagher Starting 11 and subs my guess only, dont shoot me down. haha Exactly the team I posted last week
Merging Cultures Posted 26 August 2011 Posted 26 August 2011 Spot on, its not easy, nor did I ever claim it to be. We're playing good football and working very very hard, and as a result of the way we play the game, there will be an inevitable drop off in form and results because you can't maintain that level of intensity throughout the season. That said, we're a much better team than you, and I suspect we'll win tomorrow. Good luck with all that debt... Hedging your bets? We are a good time but we'll be tired... wow, how lame.
Dabizas Posted 26 August 2011 Posted 26 August 2011 First game of the season tomorrow due to a 2 week holiday in malia and work commitments, cannot wait a 2 0 win for me! I know we havnt played particularly well but just optimistic cannot wait!
