purpleronnie Posted 28 August 2011 Posted 28 August 2011 Its hard to watch England because on paper we look to have a good team but it rarely is entertaining and often frustrating, and always ends in failure. I guess its comparable to Leicester. Apart from the entertaining bit.
DB11 Posted 28 August 2011 Posted 28 August 2011 Such a pathetic argument. I bet those who are saying they dont care about England will be the ones that have most to say about the match afterwards. Yeah cos I always comment on international games.
Vacamion Posted 28 August 2011 Posted 28 August 2011 Given where I live, if England play badly and lose, I never hear the last of it... So, whilst watching England is not always an enjoyable experience, I dearly want them to win and do well.
Podge Posted 29 August 2011 Posted 29 August 2011 Why can't people care equally about club and country? No wonder English fan culture is criticised when we couldn't even give a shit about the country we are in. Edit - Oh, and "England Team is full of twats" is a shit excuse, I'm sure there are plenty of club teams full of twats but people have no problem supporting them then. Personally it's just that I don't feel the same connection with the national team as I do with club football. Try as I might I just can't get that into international football during the season. what do they play for then ?? they dont get paid for playing for the country so surely play with pride.. I thought they did get paid? Might be well off base with that though.

BlueSi13 Posted 29 August 2011 Posted 29 August 2011 Country>Club every time. Clubs are just business where for the people in charge, making a profit is more important than seeing us win. Owners of clubs manipulate and exploit that loyalty we feel to our cities and clubs to rob us week in, week out. Yes watching England is eternally frustrating considering our potential, but i'd never be a bitter disabled hoping that lose so we can have a good old moan down the pub griping how shit everything is Leicester City & England through thick and thin Also, England players haven't been paid to play for a long time.
Libertine Posted 1 September 2011 Posted 1 September 2011 1-0 England U21s. Craig Dawson. MTWG will be jizzing into his.. cornflakes?
BlueSi13 Posted 1 September 2011 Posted 1 September 2011 England U21's 6-0 Azerbaijan U21's A certain Martyn Waghorn scoring on 79 minutes.
Ajax Treesdown Posted 1 September 2011 Posted 1 September 2011 England U21's 6-0 Azerbaijan U21's A certain Martyn Waghorn scoring on 79 minutes. He's good that Hull City forward, we should call him back........
The Doctor Posted 1 September 2011 Posted 1 September 2011 can't quite understand what I'm reading, while I do love Leicester more than Scotland it's not by much and I would never be so disinterested by my nations games. Still, c'mon Bulgaria & Wales.
STEVIE B Posted 2 September 2011 Posted 2 September 2011 England are so frustrating to watch. No doubt they will qualify for the Euro finals. We will then get sucked into the media hype that we ' Have a great chance ', only to huff & puff our way to a quarter final exit at the hands of Holland or Portugal. Then it all repeats itself when we head off to ' Bring the World Cup back home, and with this squad England have a great chance '.
Narborough_fox Posted 3 September 2011 Posted 3 September 2011 Kevin Blom is the biggest joke of a referee i've ever seen.
Matt Posted 3 September 2011 Author Posted 3 September 2011 Today has been sooooo boring! Quite sad I have nothing to do on a Saturday afternoon when Leicester aren't playing actually... Kevin Blom is the biggest joke of a referee i've ever seen. Excellent ref from what i've been hearing.
Podge Posted 3 September 2011 Posted 3 September 2011 Today has been sooooo boring! Quite sad I have nothing to do on a Saturday afternoon when Leicester aren't playing actually... Excellent ref from what i've been hearing. From watching the game he was terrible and not just with the Czech pen at the end, the Czech's should have had one in the first half. Scotland could have had one, and just his general decision making was terrible. Don't think he should ref international games for a while.
BlueSi13 Posted 3 September 2011 Posted 3 September 2011 How the Czech Republic haven't won today is beyond me! Barring two absolute howlers from the Czech's, complete dominance throughout. Scotland have a long way to go.
Haydos Posted 3 September 2011 Posted 3 September 2011 Going back to the club v country thing, for me a big part of the reason why if feel less passion for England is the attachment. I've simply been through a lot less with them. A few world cups and Euro Championships that I can remember, a few of them distinctly underwhelming and apart from that nothing but dull friendlies and slightly uninteresting qualifying campaigns (on the whole). Compare this with supporting your club and which you're constantly chained to. Every week, every year. It just builds more of an attachment and that's why Leicester will always be what I'm most passionate about. Add to that the individuality of club football and especially the unfashionable Leicester then there's only 1 winner.
Super_horns Posted 3 September 2011 Posted 3 September 2011 How the Czech Republic haven't won today is beyond me! Barring two absolute howlers from the Czech's, complete dominance throughout. Scotland have a long way to go. Seems like they were lucky to even get a point in the end!
Father Ted Posted 3 September 2011 Posted 3 September 2011 Kevin Blom is the biggest joke of a referee i've ever seen. I quite like him tbh
