I paid around £15 for Kharkov to Donetsk tickets and £60 Kiev to Donetsk tickets all first class. I wont be using the latter as I'm not going to France game. They are 2 sleeper tickets for the night before the France game - I'm open to offers for these train tickets as the refund services seems a nightmare.

What day you getting the train from Kharkiv to Donetsk? The Monday or Tuesday morning??

Posted

Sun June 17th as i'm going to see Holland vs Portugal in Kharkov then off to Donetsk for Englands final game.

Sorry, I meant Monday 18th. i'm going from Kiev to Kharkov on June 17th.

Monday 18th at like 6:53 or something like that?

If so, see you on there. 4 Leicester lads on that one.

6.15 on the 17th, gets in at 10.43 so should have plenty of time before the evening match. I'm in coach 2 seats 21/22. Should be lots of England fans at that game as many have the same idea...

It's the trains thing that put me off going anywhere else. I'd love to head over to Kiev in the gap between the matches I'm attending in Donetsk but it sounds like people are having a mare booking the tickets, so it didn't seem worth waiting until it was all properly up and running.

I can't imagine I'll get bored in Donetsk though. Even if it's not a massive touristy place, 3 games a day on huge screens should easily kill loads of time :)

Does anyone have any idea why flights are saying 22+ hours when it should be like 3 hours max from London to Ukraine?

Also would it be best to stop in Kiev then travel down to Donstek on the day of the match?

Thanks for any help.

Our flight out is taking about 18 hours because of a 10 hour changeover in Vienna (I didn't book it!) - although return flights only cost under £200

Re trains, Kiev to Donetsk is 5.5 hours by highspeed rail (although its a nightmare to book - I'm yet to be successful), or 12 hours on the normal trains

Thanks for the info... it seems there are no more 'normal' flights i.e 3 hour journeys which is a bit irratating, may have to book the flight for two days before the game now then seen some flights for about 285 returns.

will look into the express trains now and decide which game to go for.

Do you know if all hotels are fully booked in Kiev?

I believe all hotels/hostels are full. Me and a mate are camping - quite a few sites around - this one, apparently, is only 1km from the fan park - http://www.kievbeachclub.com/

But, like the trains, they've not got their house in order yet. I've been told it should be soon though. There are also other camp sites around...

Excellent that camp site looks pretty good. Thanks once again, may just go to the Sweden match now instead of travelling all over the shop.

Regarding hotels you can get quiet cheap ones on uefas website.

I'm booked into a right dump haha

Same here mate, student hostels all the way. It's only somewhere to put your head down for the night anyway. Got this flag being made up now, what do you lot think?

Good stuff, hope to see it flying high!

Going to book this beach place in Kiev then travel to Dontesk for the last game.

If I buy the tickets from eBay or another auction site would I still be able to get in ? like do the tickets have the buyers name from or hows it work?

They have never checked tickets in the past and I have some tickets in a different name. So basically you'll be very unlucky to be stopped but they can check if they want but just say your mates have already gone in.

It won't let me order tickets on eufa's website, do you think it would be ok or does the ticket have to have your name on it?

English fans to face topless threat at Euro 2012

The tireless topless activists from Ukraine’s FEMEN women’s rights group have chosen English fans as their primary target at Euro 2012.

FEMEN have already staged a number of provocative acts, including an attempt to break the Euro Cup trophy, as they protest against the football tournament turning their country into a global bordello.

The movement’s leader, Inna Shevchenko, claims the supporters of the English national team – well known for their bad behavior on trips abroad – pose the greatest threat for Ukraine’s fair sex.

“English fans need to know that if they try to mess with Ukrainian women then we’ll try to mess with them,” the 21-year-old said. “The sex industry exploits women, who are so poor and often uneducated.”

Shevchenko promised that she and her comrades will use their naked breasts to “attack” every English match at the tournament.

England are in Group D for Euro 2012, with co-hosts Ukraine, France and Sweden being their rivals.

Ukraine’s capital Kiev and the city of Donetsk will host the team’s matches in the preliminaries.

Meanwhile, it seems the country’s working girls are actually preparing hard for Euro 2012.

They’ve reportedly not only drastically increased their prices, but have begun studying football terms and the lineups of the arriving teams in order to attract more clients.

There are said to be over 80 thousand women of pleasure in the former Soviet state.

:D
