liam717 Posted 19 September 2011 Posted 19 September 2011 If you look at Leicester league statistics for this season you'll see that you haven't scored in the last 30 minutes of games but have conceded 5 goals - http://bit.ly/qmj1Qi . Do you think this is a problem for Leicester or just a coincidence. If you like the stats page, please look around at the rest of the website and register if you like. Thank you and good luck with the rest of your season.
Leicester Bob Posted 19 September 2011 Posted 19 September 2011 we have been a bit fragile but the back 5 have all have never played together before so its sort of expected! but we will be pretty water tight from hear on in!
SOCCERROO FOX Posted 20 September 2011 Posted 20 September 2011 Wasn't it our 03-04 season that if the game was only 75 minutes we would of been mid-table. But games are for 90 minutes.
chesterfox Posted 20 September 2011 Posted 20 September 2011 not to be scoffed at - I think a lot is down to tactics as SGE seems to like to hold on to what he's got(as it were!)
Ric Flair Posted 20 September 2011 Posted 20 September 2011 Wasn't it our 03-04 season that if the game was only 75 minutes we would of been mid-table. But games are for 90 minutes. About three quarters of the way through that season we'd have been in the top 4 if games had finished after 75 minutes, I'm sure of it!
funkyrobot Posted 20 September 2011 Posted 20 September 2011 Yeh those stats are a worry, we haven't scored in the last 3rd of a game and conceded the majority of goals in the last 15 mins. It indicates a slacking off that might be part tactical and perhaps in part a fitness issue? Either way I hope Sven looks at this. We need to press for 90mins!
VinceNoir Posted 20 September 2011 Posted 20 September 2011 Wasn't it our 03-04 season that if the game was only 75 minutes we would of been mid-table. But games are for 90 minutes. The 3-3 game at Middlesbrough really hurt me. Also, I went to visit a mate during the Wolves game, when we were leading 3-0. Checked teletext for the final results and I couldn't believe what I was seeing.

DANGEROUS TIGER Posted 20 September 2011 Posted 20 September 2011 I don't know why it is, but both last season, and this, our defence gets more nervous than most sides appear to, in the final 30 mins. Strange.
Foxblogger Posted 20 September 2011 Posted 20 September 2011 It's probably a bit too early to read too much into this sort of thing. The funny thing is, when people were making a bit deal about late goals last season and putting it down to player fitness (up to and including the QPR game at least) City had scored more goals in the last 30 minutes than they had conceded.
broughtonblue Posted 21 September 2011 Posted 21 September 2011 I don't know why it is, but both last season, and this, our defence gets more nervous than most sides appear to, in the final 30 mins. Strange. So do us fans!!!
wellyfox Posted 21 September 2011 Posted 21 September 2011 Using stats you can make things look as good or bad as you want to. I take little notice so we score two in the first 60mins an let one in in the last 30 so have won the league. Or the other way round and we go down. The only stats that cound is the figure at the end of each teams name at FT that matters. Would you care if every player got 4/5 out of 10 if the score read LCFC 1 A.N.other 0 every week. And how mant times have you picked up the papers the nxt day to find players have a different mark in each one. The fact we concede 2 in a game is more the problem not when they score.
dhermon Posted 21 September 2011 Posted 21 September 2011 Oh gawd the 03-04 season and that bloody wovles game was braging to my mate about the score only to hear we lost 4-3 not long after i feel down a flight of stairs .. ... ... .... drunk as fark somehow didnt manage to spill 1 drop of beer couldnt walk for the rest of the night but the beer was safe!!!!
blueredswed Posted 21 September 2011 Posted 21 September 2011 I can only say the season have just started. We have a good squad let´s see what is happen when the others get injuries and..... So I can only say UP WE GOES :scarf:
Foxblogger Posted 21 September 2011 Posted 21 September 2011 Using stats you can make things look as good or bad as you want to. Whilst I accept it's possible to make bad arguments with statistics, I don't think it's as clear cut as you make out. Numbers can provide us with real insight into how to solve problems and double down on strengths on the pitch. But I would say that, wouldn't I.
Fox92 Posted 21 September 2011 Posted 21 September 2011 I know the 03/04 season we got relegated, and we played some poor games. I remember thinking we're going to beat Wolves by 5 at half time at Molinuex.. then they scored 4!. Also, Hignett with that goal against Arsenal. But, remember the Spurs away game? Everytime I watch the season review DVD that bit of commentry does it for me; "its Tottenham 3, Leicester 4. Its suicidal for Spurs, its jubilation for Leicester City" .. it ended up 4-4, we chucked it away, as usual. Freekin' Defoe.
funkyrobot Posted 28 September 2011 Posted 28 September 2011 So city still haven't scored a league goal in the last 30 minutes of any game in the championship this season!
Thracian Posted 28 September 2011 Posted 28 September 2011 So city still haven't scored a league goal in the last 30 minutes of any game in the championship this season! That screams out that Sven is more focused on not losing than solely on winning,
Guest Col city fan Posted 29 September 2011 Posted 29 September 2011 So city still haven't scored a league goal in the last 30 minutes of any game in the championship this season! Is anyone surprised at this? Sven preserves what he's got, rather than taking risks... This has been clear time and time again this season
MikeyT Posted 29 September 2011 Posted 29 September 2011 Let's face it though. He's doomed if he does and doomed if he doesn't. If he does go for it, and the opposition score everyone will bemoan him and the team and if they don't go for it, people will moan about that too. He can't win.

If he does go for it, and the opposition score everyone will bemoan him and the team and if they don't go for it, people will moan about that too. He can't win. His only chance of not being "doomed" - albeit on a golden liferaft - is to win the considerable number of points needed to achieve something. That being the case I'd have thought his best philosophy would be obvious... especially given that there's a three points reward for winning.

Point is Thrac, can you last 30 minutes, I can see Mrs Thrac nodding her head right now!!! About LCFC, Sven has throughout his career used similar tactics, it's his nature!!
Dan Posted 29 September 2011 Posted 29 September 2011 Jesus, no goals that late on? Pretty poor that, I think Thracian's got it spot on, we're simply not attacking enough and don't have the right attitude.
