Leeds fans singing WACCOE Really? lol

Good game so far.

Im gonna sound like an idiot but whats WACCOE?

Already mentioned this in another thread but I'm surprised by the number of empty seats in the ground - would've thought this to be a stonewall sell-out...

And WACCOE is that infernal "We are champions, champions of Europe!" chant...

We Are ??? Champions of Europe :)

It's a one-sided rivalry to be fair and it's a midweek Carling Cup fixture though.

Although, I'm surprised by the poor turnout by Leeds' standards

I assume you mean the rivalry is all on the side of the Leeds fans? Yet the Man Utd end is almost certainly sold-out...

Man Utd fans singing "Istanbul, Istanbul!" - love how intelligent my fellow Mancunians are

I wouldn't go so far as to say the Leeds-Man United rivalry is one-sided but I daresay it's faded a bit on the red side with Manchester City coming to greater prominence. Each year that passes with Leeds not even in the same league as Manchester United let alone in a position to challenge will weaken the rivalry in my view, especially while their main rivals (Liverpool and Man City) continue to challenge.

Oh and by the way Adam, Man United sell out pretty much anywhere at any time. Give them Plymouth on a Tuesday night and they'll probably sell it out, bloomin' vocal lot as well. Completely different to the notoriously quiet Old Trafford support.

Yeah I know. I was replying to FuriousFox who seemed to suggest that the fading of the rivalry amongst Man Utd supporters was a potential reason for the empty seats, something that doesn't make sense given the sold-out Man Utd end

3-0 now. Oh well, that's that evening done with then. My shitty internet connection was messing up anyway, so kinda glad it's decided. Man Utd won't pull a Leicester-at-Molineux 2nd half performance.

Leeds sound as though they're more out of their depth than that bloke who ended up in Barrymore's swimming pool.

Manchester United look like they're going to be different gravy this season.

Manyoo were well out of order with the Istanbul chants. Doesn't justify Leeds responding with Munich songs though. :(

To those who noted the empty seats, they may have been related to the ticket prices set by Ken Bates. How many on here would pay £35+ to see a midweek game against a reserve team?
