chili_con_carne Posted 21 September 2011 Posted 21 September 2011 Anyone see the first goal Cardiff scored? Mills made no effort whatsover to head the ball. I'm sorry but everytime I've seen him play and on highlights he basically walks around the pitch not showing any passion or anything. He is here for the money. People at the moment are trying to pretend he is playing well, but to be honest he isn't. He is very average. He has had time and now it's time for him to perform. Making him captain was ridiculous because Sven can't drop our 5 million captain for St Ledger. Let's see how he performs on Sunday, it's on tv so he may perform, as the Reading fans told us. But so far, no passion, no desire or committment, And pretty average defending. Worried.
THEFATBASTARD Posted 21 September 2011 Posted 21 September 2011 You came to the conclusion from a tv highlight? genius, you should be england manager.
Ashley Posted 21 September 2011 Posted 21 September 2011 I would like you to do the following. Go to www.lcfc.com. View the picture special from the Coventry game, come back and post in this thread. Thankyou.
topharry123 Posted 21 September 2011 Posted 21 September 2011 Who cares if he came for the money? Most players do in football nowadays. Granted he's been relatively poor so far, but we're still only a few games in and he has gotten better since his first couple of games so i'd rather see how he's done after 15-20 more games before slating him.

SOCCERROO FOX Posted 21 September 2011 Posted 21 September 2011 Awaits 200 posts with Pash-un!!! In it.
Bugg Posted 21 September 2011 Posted 21 September 2011 *sigh* not this passion bollocks again. Players show their passion differently to others, just because they aren't badge thumping every five minutes and throwing themselves head first onto the floor doesn't mean they don't care.
Thracian Posted 22 September 2011 Posted 22 September 2011 Well I watched him closely enough on Saturday and, for all we kept a clean sheet that day, I wouldn't be satisfied. Yes, he's done some good things but I don't see he's any sort of step up from Hobbs, Kisnorbo or Wayne Brown. In fact he's very similar when it comes to giving the ball away. Mills so often spoils his best work by winning possession and promptly giving it away again. Against Brighton in the first half I wondered if he'd ever find a Leicester shirt with a pass. Six or seven passes, one after another, went astray. Does Faz, our supposed defensive maestro, ever speak to him? Cos someone needs to. But he wasn't our only defender last night and, once again, we conceded two goals against modest opposition. If we seriously believe we're going to win things with that sort of defence and just one natural goalscorer in central midfield we're dreaming.

For fvcks sake it was our 2nd string not the 1st team, are you really a LCFC fan?
artursteppe Posted 22 September 2011 Posted 22 September 2011 OK Thracian, a little advice to ease your mind. If you are such a big fan ( bizarrely ) of Kisnorbo, Brown and Hobbs, why don't you toddle off and support Hull or Leeds or whatever bunch of no-hopers Wayne Brown is playing with, and give us all a break?
lcfc_sam_p Posted 22 September 2011 Posted 22 September 2011 I thought Mills shows more 'passion' than most to be honest. He's improving game by game and I think he'll turn out to be a great buy.
SOCCERROO FOX Posted 22 September 2011 Posted 22 September 2011 Who exactly is pretending he is playing well? I haven't seen it on here. Maybe he is pretending to be Matt Mills and it is really Leon Crinic
Fox92 Posted 22 September 2011 Posted 22 September 2011 Its not the first time I have noticed this. We conceded a goal a few weeks ago, can't remember when, and Mills was just jogging back to cover. But, its not just him, Gallagher is the same. Does my head in.

crisp packet Posted 22 September 2011 Posted 22 September 2011 Shock !!!! We lose a game ..... Today's scape goat is ha ha ???? Fickle Leicester . As I said before o.p not even been to game !!!
tomtom Posted 22 September 2011 Posted 22 September 2011 Another knee jerk reaction thread! Mills goes from hero to zero etc,..... I'm sorry Mr chilli con carne but maybe you need to get a few more hobbies in your life other than watching highlights of city on tv and foxestalk Take an interest in girls.... You'll be a lot happier in the long-run
Jimmy Posted 22 September 2011 Posted 22 September 2011 Danny Tiatto had Pash-un and spent more time getting booked or sent off then contributing to a winning side. What was Mills supposed to do, a poor header by Ball, Cowie headed it instantly and looped in over everyone. but hey don't let the facts stop you jumping on the "Mills is fooking shit" bandwagon
Jon the Hat Posted 22 September 2011 Posted 22 September 2011 OK Thracian, a little advice to ease your mind. What? Read it again and point out where Thrac said anything positive about those players? Perfectly valid to say he appears no great improvement for his £5m transfer fee.
Thracian Posted 22 September 2011 Posted 22 September 2011 But lets face it Thracian you're never satisfied with anything Haha...that's almost true. In fact I had immense pride in the people I coached along with their achievements and well they knew it. I also had unswerving belief in their abilities but the euphoria of success was enjoyed for a moment only, or perhaps the rest of the day. Then it was on to improving some more and attending to any tiny weakness that might be apparent. Even after crushing victories there were things to be done. Mostly, both in football and squash. I worked with talented players who you'd expect to win. But on our summer coaching qualification course we worked with random schoolkids from Leicestershire to get our first badge. On the last day the hundreds of kids from various schools who had been the coaching "guinea pigs" were drawn out in lots to form teams and a knock-out competition was staged to round off the course. When I looked at our team there were some who'd hardly kicked a ball let alone had any chance of being picked for their school. But they played like heroes and somehow won that competition. Some of them shed tears of disbelief afterwards and I was so ridiculously proud of them. Indeed one of only two regrets in coaching was not getting a photo of that team. They metaphorically died for the cause and for their pride that day and collectively demonstrated that anything is possible. One-nil it was in the final. Hardly the breathtaking demonstration of unbridled attack I'd have loved. But yes I was satisfied. As I never saw any of them again there was nothing to work on!

If you are such a big fan ( bizarrely ) of Kisnorbo, Brown and Hobbs, why don't you toddle off and support Hull or Leeds or whatever bunch of no-hopers Wayne Brown is playing with, and give us all a break? And where the hell have I said I'm a fan of those three? Quite the coantrary. Apart from mentioning we've missed having someone with Brown's organising ability, I've consistently wondered why any of them would get anywhere near a decent team with their distribution...and said so loud and clear on countless occasions What I would expect in getting rid of them was that we might have signed someone better. But I just don't see that Mills looks any different from Hobbs or Kisnorbo, certainly for the money we've forked out. So tell me. What's the £5m actually for that's such a great improvement on previous incumbents?
Happy Fox Posted 22 September 2011 Posted 22 September 2011 It seemed to me at the time that when we forked out the money for Mills it was obscene i.e worth £3m, but obviously prem clubs were interested, and we were more keen to bring him in, I only hope he starts living up to his price tag sooner rather than later, I am willing to give him a chance, but on the evidence I have seen so far barring Coventry and Brighton, he hasn't lived up to expectations, here is hoping that he has turned a corner now and will produce consistent displays, Brighton was the first time where he actually played descent 7/10.
Fox92 Posted 22 September 2011 Posted 22 September 2011 Hume showed passion, wish he came back Please no. Best of a bad bunch, and left when we were relegated. Personally, I would not welcome Hume back.
