DANGEROUS TIGER Posted 22 September 2011 Posted 22 September 2011 I believe he has the potential to become as good as Joe Hart, but not yet.
SuperScout Posted 22 September 2011 Posted 22 September 2011 If you're referring to his England eligibility, he's lived here more than long enough to apply for a GB passport, but he wants to play for Denmark. OK, if his Dad moved to England five years earlier, he'd have had no excuse then!
dannythefox Posted 22 September 2011 Posted 22 September 2011 He said when he was at Man City he couldn't pick between them because there was nothing in it.
blueredswed Posted 22 September 2011 Posted 22 September 2011 I've seen Hart make more mistakes than Schmeichel. I was following Man C. when Sven was there. He prefered Hart because he is a little bit taller in the air than Schmeikel but instead Kasper is like a TIGER quick.....and penalty he takes 3 of 5 I´m sure So I can only say we have the second beat goalkeeper in Great Britain :scarf:
blueredswed Posted 22 September 2011 Posted 22 September 2011 This is another problem with Sven, he thinks everyone he purchases are and will be successful in the future. I´m sorry to say you are not in his future
yessae Posted 22 September 2011 Posted 22 September 2011 Hold on lads. It's a long season ahead. One can never judge a goalkeeper so early into a season. Kasper's mistakes started to get clearer for us only after we got over the high of a new signing. I don't think he will eradicate them that quickly as there are some basics that he does wrong (commanding the box, handling crosses and communicating with back 4 ) ...
Thracian Posted 22 September 2011 Posted 22 September 2011 From what I've seen of him so far, Schmeichel's got presence as a keeper as well as ability and is the best we've had for ages. His reaction speed is particularly impressive and he has that ability to spread hmself that was so characteristic of his father. He's still got aspects to polish up a bit - some of his punching is hardly Madison Square Garden for precision - and his distribution, although generally quick and positive isn't always accurate. But Hart's never looked like the greatest goalkeeper when I've watched him so yes, I'd perhaps go along with Sven's viewpoint especially given Schmeichel's concentration and willingness to gee up his defenders when he thinks they've fallen short. He seems consistent, professional and shows a genuine respect for the fans. Yes, I know he erred at Forest but even then he accepted he'd done wrong and I seriously doubt it will happen again. A whole team with his level of ability and commitment and I'd be very happy.
step Posted 23 September 2011 Posted 23 September 2011 I have no doubt he will become one of the best keepers in the world.
The Year Of The Fox Posted 23 September 2011 Posted 23 September 2011 He said when he was at Man City he couldn't pick between them because there was nothing in it. Yeh, cos they look the same
gerrytaggart Posted 23 September 2011 Posted 23 September 2011 I value Svens opinion much more than anything I've read in this thread. Plus, I havent seen another Goalkeeper have such an impressive start here than Kasper, feel totally confident in him so far. He has earned us quite a few of our point already..pretty much single-handedly on one or two occasions.
Alexikokopops Posted 23 September 2011 Posted 23 September 2011 Sven says that they were of a similar standard 4 years ago. BBC leads with a headline suggesting that he's saying they're as good as each other now. Media outlet in misleading headline shocker.
lcfc jack lcfc Posted 23 September 2011 Posted 23 September 2011 Hart is Quality Kasper is very good Weale is errm quite good what are you on about everytime weale plays we lose hes absolutely shit.
bardonfox Posted 23 September 2011 Posted 23 September 2011 I would be very surprised if Kasper wasn't a top premier league keeper one day.
hackneyfox Posted 23 September 2011 Posted 23 September 2011 I just think we have to wait over a longer period of time before saying things like this. I remember after 6 months here people were actually asking questions why Weale isnt being looked at for England as he was "as good" as anything in there...... Some people on this board may have, many didn't.
Saxondale Posted 23 September 2011 Posted 23 September 2011 As we all know, 'keepers are fairly difficult to rate. They're ability is, as much as anything, defined by how often they make clangers (as all 'keepers do now and then). Aside from that, there's: Ability to claim crosses / corners - TICK With top drawer keepers, the number of out of the ordinary, top class saves they make - BIG TICK, Schmeichel's made a load of these so far this season. Command of the area - TICK From the evidence I've seen, I have no reason to disagree with Sven on this one.
lcfc_sam_p Posted 23 September 2011 Posted 23 September 2011 'Another one of svens problems is he thinks everyone he purchases will be successful in the future' what a ridiculous thing to say

Christoph Posted 23 September 2011 Posted 23 September 2011 Best thing about Kasper is that when you play a game you dont have to skip a heart beat every time the opposition takes a pop at goal like you would with weale.
Trav Le Bleu Posted 23 September 2011 Posted 23 September 2011 Did Sven not work with both at city. If so is he not in a position to judge both now. After all it is his opinion. Close the thread. The correct answer has already been given.
Adster Posted 24 September 2011 Posted 24 September 2011 This is another problem with Sven, he thinks everyone he purchases are and will be successful in the future. I'm sorry, but this is a really silly thing to say. You've had a mare here Wymsey!
Number 6 Posted 24 September 2011 Posted 24 September 2011 Great 'keeper. Nice to have a manager come out and praise a player out of the blue, rather than having to come out and claim to still have faith in a poor performing player.
paddy Agyemang Posted 24 September 2011 Posted 24 September 2011 agree with sven and i cant believe we have kaspar to be honest as i think he is prem quality
Guest Posted 24 September 2011 Posted 24 September 2011 I think Kasper is better than Joe. I'll never understand why Leeds let him go. Best signing of the off-season - especially considering long range Weale was the number 1 if not.
Guest shearfox Posted 24 September 2011 Posted 24 September 2011 This is another problem with Sven, he thinks everyone he purchases are and will be successful in the future. Isn't that what your suppose to do as a manager buy players that you consider good now or have potential to be successful? You don't sign players that you think won't cut it!!!
Dan Posted 25 September 2011 Author Posted 25 September 2011 This is another problem with Sven, he thinks everyone he purchases are and will be successful in the future. Phenomenal.
