You Must be Sick of Cardiff

Must have been a long old trip home for you lot on Wednesday, very decent turn out for a Carling cup game. Wouldn't blame any of you for not coming on Sunday though, shite time for a football match, too early for away fans to leave the house and too much all day drinking time for home fans (will suffer on Monday). Will be a completely different game in my opinion, we'll have a few playing who played Wednesday but we''ll play a completely different system. My main question is though, will Sven be a bit more animated and interested? Seemed to just pop into the technical area every now and again the other night and generally do bugger all, very much like Dave Jones did for us, it's like a breath of fresh air having Malky ranting and raving on the side of the pitch (I know it doesn't win you games, but it sure revs the crowd up, if he shows he cares). What was very noticeable was at the end of 90 and 120 minutes Malky got all the City players around him and was banging his fist and generally geeing them up,alien to us after Jones, while the Leicester players were just wandering around individually looking a bit lost,Sven spoke to one player at the end of the 90,yes one,it was remarked on by us lot sat together. After the effort made by the decent crowd that travelled from Leicester a bit of passion wouldn't have gone amiss for you. Any way all the best for the rest of season after Sunday, always got respect for Leicester fans going back years and more so since we seem to play you every couple of months now. :sge: :chant: But will he?

Yes I am sick of you lot. Play off semi's

I am never confident when we go to Cardiff, but I reckon we'll nick a draw.

Also, lay off Sven, we have enough of our own fans on his back let alone oppostion ones!

But I thought Sven had sacrificed the league cup and the chance of a good cup run because we were going to rest players so as to win in the league game on Sunday? Now you're saying we'll only draw? Make your mind up?

decent post, agree it will be a completely different game on sunday. out of our starting line up i think only matt mills will play on sunday, so pretty much our reserve team. think we will see another a draw after 90 mins :scarf:

Cheers mate and well observed. As for passion, fook knows how Sven got all the hot totty he did!

The game will be won or lost in the middle of the park on Sunday. If you control that area you'll score enough to win.. If we control it then vice versa

Totally different game on Sunday and will be far more entertaining, can see us winning 2-0 tbh but it will more than likely be a draw.

Why does everybody feel the need to criticize sven? Does it really matter what the manager does? Passion is nice sometimes but too much works negatively, having said that I could never be calm and collected. Different styles work for different teams. Sven's been far more successful than Malky ever will.

Us to score just after half time, and like on Wednesday, they'll equalize two minutes before the end. 1-1

I have a feeling Mills will be on the bench for this whilst St.Ledger will be handed a start. why I think this.

Hope Howard plays some part as Cardiff in the past have struggled with his strength etc.

He certainly has, but at this moment I would prefer a hungry, ambitious, enthusiastic 39 year old Malky Mackay than a sedate elder statesman like Sven. Just my opinion but we've had a few Q & A sessions around the area with Malky, wonderful to see and hear him interacting with the fans, not ducking any questions and generally playing the PR role brilliantly (obviously time will tell with results,as always). I do think that Sven's successful days are behind him now mind, don't think any of the Italian giants will be coming knocking for him in the future. The reason I criticised him is because, although we got a Cup final and play off final under him, Dave Jones was cut from the same cloth, I travel to all away games and it's been a revelation to see Malky joining the players in coming over to us at the end of the game, a bit of appreciation for the travelling support goes a long way in my book and my original post was about that. The Leicester fans deserved a bit more passion from their bench, trust me, we've had the "air of nonchalance" attitude and now we've got "the fist pumping, we're all in this together" attitude and I know which one I prefer.

Steve Howard has been a thorn in our side for bloody years.

Is Nugent not ready to return yet? :(

Can't wait for him to come back, his partnership with Beckford will be unstoppable. :yesyes:

Have to agree with you, I wouldn't mind seeing a bit of, enthusiasm shall we say, off sven. Having said that he's just not that type of manager. Hearing some players who used to be managed by him (beckham in particular) I remember them all saying he's just a manager who believes in the players and knows what to say to gee them up, and that's it.

Definitely take a point on Sunday. I can see us losing 3-1.

He kinda did, but that doesn't mean we'll certainly win you muppet. Cardiff are a great side especially at home. We'll still struggle regardless of the players being rested.

IF (and it's always a big IF) we continue last's week's encouraging form v Brighton, then Cardiff fans may well be in for a disappointing afternoon.

Sven's team selection for last Wednesday's match was almost certainly decided on in conjunction with who he wanted to start Sunday's game.

As such, we will have a very strong side out that is starting to gel.

I also think that having lost in the fashion we did on Wednesday, the team will have a most determined inner resolve not just to redress the balance, but to redress it well and emphatically.

So although Cardiff might play a different system on Sunday, so will the Foxes.
