davieG Posted 16 October 2011 Posted 16 October 2011 City: Schmeichel, Peltier, Konchesky, Mills ©, Bamba, King, Vassell, Abe, Danns, Fernandes, Nugent Subs: Weale, Pantsil, Johnson, Wellens, Beckford
Callabinho Posted 16 October 2011 Posted 16 October 2011 Even though this team trounced Derby convincingly, I fear this team may not be able to find a way through the brums, I don't know why but I have a really bad feeling about this game :\, C'mon you foxes get us 3 points!!!
Fox92 Posted 16 October 2011 Posted 16 October 2011 No Howard on bench! FFS When will Sven realise he offers something the other strikers cannot, and I feel its one of these games where we need Howard to ruff up their defence.
lcfcsnow Posted 16 October 2011 Posted 16 October 2011 Bit harsh on Schlupp leaving him out.. I'd rather see a few strikers on the bench then two central midfielders when four are starting the game anyway.
Larry_LCFC Posted 16 October 2011 Posted 16 October 2011 I would have left Johnson and Wellens off and had Dyer and Howard on the bench to be honest.
LcFc_Smiv Posted 16 October 2011 Posted 16 October 2011 Unfortunately this is the price we're going to have to pay with this stupid 5-sub rule, still that's a very strong side and we know that they are more than capable of getting 3 points!
Fox92 Posted 16 October 2011 Posted 16 October 2011 The bench is poor for me. I would have no goalkeeper first off, like Warnock. I'd prefer St. Ledger instead of Pantsil because he can play centre half or full back. Wellens and Johnson are the same type of player, so I'd rather have Dyer or Schlupp on instead and definetly Howard. Something like; St. Ledger, Wellens, Dyer, Howard, Beckford. I fear for this game as well.
sphericalfox Posted 16 October 2011 Posted 16 October 2011 That team spells to me. Hit them fast and hard, and then we'll make defensive precautions and sit back. I hope I'm wrong and Beckford comes on to showcase for the telly.
joel Posted 16 October 2011 Posted 16 October 2011 City: Schmeichel, Peltier, Konchesky, Mills ©, Bamba, King, Vassell, Abe, Danns, Fernandes, Nugent Subs: Weale, Pantsil, Johnson, Wellens, Beckford why isnt he starting beckford
AdamN Posted 16 October 2011 Posted 16 October 2011 Fvcking hell. One ten minute cameo and all of a sudden everyone thinks Howard is amazing again. Some people never fail to amaze me. Before the game we were all worried that Sven wouldn't stick with the winning formula we had against Derby. He has, so instead people find something else to moan about like the fvcking bench. Unbelievable. Good team. Up the City!
Cropwellfox Posted 16 October 2011 Posted 16 October 2011 So disappointed with the bench picked today, wellens would never come on and change a game positively, and for me doesn't deserve his place back after the impact of Howard schlupp and dyer. Once again eriksson picks a squad full of 'his first choices' rather than have players on the bench that can really mix it up if required. Shame Svennis and I think you'll regret your decision today.
Corky Posted 16 October 2011 Posted 16 October 2011 Blimey, he picks the same team as most wanted and now the bench is the issue. Taking away two substitutes will hamper us given the size of the squad, not everyone can get in the 16.
Thracian Posted 16 October 2011 Posted 16 October 2011 I would have left Johnson and Wellens off and had Dyer and Howard on the bench to be honest. Typically negative of Leicester playing away. Forsake people who could win or change the game for people who might - and I only say might - help to hold what we have. And what incentive is Sven's decision for either Dyer, Schlupp or Howard? Schlupp remains out top scorer this season with Dyer joint second on less football than others. Some meritocracy!
Fox92 Posted 16 October 2011 Posted 16 October 2011 why isnt he starting beckford Because he shouldn't change a winning team. Fvcking hell. One ten minute cameo and all of a sudden everyone thinks Howard is amazing again. Howard offers something different. Something that Nugent, Schlupp, Beckford, Vassell etc cannot offer. He is a target, a force in the air, he will mess up the opposition's defence and will give 110%. I've always rated Howard and always will. Thats why I think he should be on the bench. One forward on the bench is ridiculous in my opinion.
Fmfox Posted 16 October 2011 Posted 16 October 2011 Our bench is class guys. Beckford is a mix of the other attackers left out, midfielders are as good as the starting 4, pantsil is a solid defender and weale is a good gk imo
Corky Posted 16 October 2011 Posted 16 October 2011 Maybe for Watford we can sneak nine onto the bench- then everyone is happy.
Fmfox Posted 16 October 2011 Posted 16 October 2011 We have 4 midfielders and 2 strikers, makes perfect sense to have the same ratio on the bench. Dont forget if we go 4 3 3 danns and nugent can play wide, pantsil and abe are ok wide aswell
sdb Posted 16 October 2011 Posted 16 October 2011 not the bench i'd have gone with, but how strong is it (on paper) for a Championship side?! Amazing.

My bench would be: Weale, St.Ledger, Wellens, Beckford, Schlupp.
