Schmeichel - 8*. Another excellent performance - had no chance with either goal.

Peltier - 6. Showed some threat in attack and was solid in defence.

Mills - 5. Biggest attacking threat, bad misjudgement for tackle though.

Bamba - 6. Kept King quiet, distribution not the best though.

Konchesky - 5. Pushed forward but crosses and and setpieces were abysmal.

Abe - 6. Ran game first half but faded badly in the second.

Danns - 5. Largely anonymous. Very disappointing.

Fernandes - 5. Punched well below his weight - another dismal performance.

King - 4. Only impact on game was conceding penalty. Surely not even Thracian can defend this shocker?

Nugent - 5. Worked hard but had little service.

Vassell - 6. Gave attack some mobility but with little effect.

Pantsil - 5. No real threat going forward.

Beckford - 5. Few real opportunities.

Wellens - 6. Showed urgency as a sub and did enough to merit starting place on Wednesday.

Vassell - 4 - Sh** performance

Do you hold a personal grudge against him? He wasn't 'sh**' at all, and he certainly was not as bad as the likes of King.

Vassell gets some undeserved stick.

No. Quite the opposite. I think he's class, but hasn't performed in a while for me :P

Contradiction at it's best, you always slate King.

Most times, but not all the time...

I said he was good last week

Gotta give Smeichel some blame for Mills sending off today. It was one of his terrible kicks out from a back pass that pinged at Mills and got him in trouble. No excuse for what Mills did to though.

Posted

Kasper 8 - Made a couple of good stops to prevent further embarrassment

Peltier 5 - Looked shaky and panicked too much in possession. Spent long periods camped up in position

Bamba 6 - Wondered and caused confusion amongst own defence but won ball a few times

Mills 5 - Looked ok until crazy two footed tackle which unfortunately is deemed sending off these days.

Konchsky 4 - Out of his depth at Anfield and now seemingly in the championship, very poor distribution.

Fernandes 4 - Had absolutely no influence on the game at all.

King 3 - Lost faith in his own ability after being played out of position by Sven

Abe 3 - Headless chicken

Danns 3 - Very poor, couldn't get near the ball at times

Vassell 3 - Over-hit a number of important passes, lacking technique, quality and skill. A very poor player.

Nugent 5 - Looked our best player and frustrated outbursts indicates his disappointment at playing with below par players.

Subs - Nondescript, Beckford terrible

SVEN - 1 - Set team up to avoid losing but backfired badly. We will never be consistent if Sven makes bad tactical errors.

Our fans are fcuking pathetic.

'Fantastic points at Cardiff and Middlesborough, would take draws away... blah blah'

A couple of weeks after, similar performance and it's:

'We are a disgrace, fcuking shit, Beckford's shit... blah blah, we've got to stop blaming the ref.'

When will some people wake up? Everybody is defending the ref's decisions today, fine but you're all so blind and ignoring the fact that Beausejour SHOULD have been sent off (could have been off in first half and for a 2nd yellow in the 2nd half) and we SHOULD have had a penalty. The ref couldn't wait to give the penalty and the sending off. He strolled on to the pitch at half time drinking a powerade like the cunt he is. Fernandes was assaulted by Burke and the ref did jack shit. What a willy puller. Thanks for ruining my day you fat ****. Birmingham fans are fcuking s*it, barely even sang when they were 2-0 up.

Schmeichel 8- Easily our best player.

Peltier 7- Good; adaptable to boot.

Mills 4 - Let the team down with a terrible tackle.

Bamba 6 - Meh.

Konchesky 5 - Defensively ok, woeful set pieces.

Abe 6 - Tidy but ineffective.

Fernandes 5 - As above but virtually static.

Danns 4 - Did virtually nothing.

King 5 - Gave away a penalty but was otherwise the only player making runs off the ball in midfield.

Vassell 4 - Rubbish

Nugent 4 - Looked tired. Weird.

subs:

Wellens 5 - Don't know why he'd be brought on at a time when we needed energy.

Beckford 4 - Had no service but did nothing with what he did get.

Pantsil 5 - Ok defensively, poor going forward.

Bad day at the office.

Alright mate, lets stick with the same team and tactics for every game shall we? No doubt Fergie, Jose and all the greats do a similar thing.

You are so magnanimous in defeat

Kasper 6 (At fault for both goals despite making a couple of excellent saves. Put Mills in desperate trouble with his scuffed clearance and slipped when trying to prevent the second meaning he didn't cover his angle.)

Pelts 6 (Indifferent).

Bamba 7 (Best defender as usual but not at his best).

Mills 4 (Poor control cost him when put under pressure and his reaction cost the team badly, and will do for some weeks at exactly the wrong time. Pity because he had a good first half.).

Konchsky 4 (Poor. Just a pretend wide man in terms of effect. Foreer having to turn back. I'd sooner have Sheehan any day).

Fernandes 5 (Huffed and puffed but was never going to make Birmingham's house fall down)

King 6 (A point off for giving away the penalty - harsh though it looked. Otherwise made defensive headers, was our most consistent midfielder, had what few attackers headers we had and was our only player trying to thread the ball or wriggle his way into the box. Should definitely have won a free-kick for obstruction in the box and tried hard to link with Nugent. Suffered once again from having no wide options. Must be so frustrated.).

Abe 4.5 (Inconsequential as so often).

Danns 5 (See above)

Vassell 5 (Just flatters to deceive. Rarely scores, doesn't go by people and didn't really threaten at all today).

Nugent 6 (Tried too hard to play off the back mn and was forevr caught offside. Lacked the right kind of service as our final ball was invariably appalling but worked so hard to make something happen. Had one great chance first half when he could have chested down a long kick from Kasper and might easily have scored).

SUBS

Pantsil 4 (What's he for?)

Beckford 0 (Cos I don't recall him doing anything of consequence except being partly responsible for their second goal. Again, though, in his defence, the service was chronic).

Wellens 6 (Showed well in his brief appearance but has not shown he can do 90 minutes of playing like that. Nevertheless he did try to ask questions but, like King, was baulked by the negativity of our sysem). .

Sven and friends 0 (Appalling. Even with the same team that beat Derby never set up with the attacking energy and determinatin of that day and left out all the substitutes who might have made a difference. Fields too many ineffective players and leaves out the ones who do have some impact even acknowledging they ll have their limitations. As for Fazackerly and Stowell I won't waste words. Nothing has really changed relating to our teams efficiency and effectiveness. We so rarely get the best from ourselves and the standard of our crosses today just emphasised how badly prepared we seemed to be. There must have been more than a dozen...too long, too slow, too weak, over weighted. I could write a pamphlet on how bad we were technically).

The first one was a penalty given away by King.. how is it Kasper's fault?

I agree with our crosses, from open play and set pieces. Konchesky's in particular were abysmal.

Brilliant. King gives away a penalty, yet it was Kaspers fault, he then slips for their second yet if king had've slipped over if he was defending it wouldn't be a mistake.

Your bias towards king us unbelievable. He had a stinker today. I think you're the only one that can't see that.

We had two good players today - Peltier and Kasper.
