Guest ttfn Posted 16 October 2011 Posted 16 October 2011 Your bias towards king us unbelievable. He had a stinker today. I think you're the only one that can't see that. We had two good players today - Peltier and Kasper. I thought King played fine today.
Bert Posted 16 October 2011 Posted 16 October 2011 I thought King played fine today. I didn't. What did he do?
Topman Posted 17 October 2011 Posted 17 October 2011 1st goal was kings fault with his heavy touch, trying to chase back and gave away the pen, roll on weds!
Thracian Posted 17 October 2011 Posted 17 October 2011 Brilliant. King gives away a penalty, yet it was Kaspers fault, he then slips for their second yet if king had've slipped over if he was defending it wouldn't be a mistake. Your bias towards king us unbelievable. He had a stinker today. I think you're the only one that can't see that. We had two good players today - Peltier and Kasper. King was blamed for the penalty - a full point off in his ratings. Selective reading Bert. We had no good players at Birmingham - at least none that I'd have been satisfied with. As for "bias" if asked frankly I'd say Kasper is my favourite City player. Bamba, Nugent and maybe Tunchev would be alongside King as genuinely effective players. The rest i wouldn't want at all. Kasper is one of the few who shows he wants to be a winner in every game - even when he makes mistakes. King didn't have a stinker - he was trying to do too many jobs in a badly performing team. I've said before, he's wasted here with our seemingly poor preparation and certainly unambitious awayday philosophy. King needs to play in a team with some width and with runners and passers around him. Not the incompetent and disjointed shambles we so often present in representation of what ought to be a reasonable side at best.
Thracian Posted 17 October 2011 Posted 17 October 2011 I didn't. What did he do? Perhaps you should watch a replay. He was forever involved in defence, midfield and attack even though the scope for makin things happen was limited. Even in giving the penalty away it was King who was racing back into the penalty area with no other defenders to be seen. But as Marbella pointed out, there was no adventure, no effort by the team as a unit to move forward as one and to therefore sustain and support attacks. Birmingham's defence were on easy street with just Nugent to contain. Our performance was a tactical disaster, and predictably so because we'd had the same approach so often before on our travels.

Thracian Posted 17 October 2011 Posted 17 October 2011 The first one was a penalty given away by King.. how is it Kasper's fault? I agree with our crosses, from open play and set pieces. Konchesky's in particular were abysmal. It's Kasper's fault, in part, because of what led to the situation of King having to chase back in a desperate bid to prevent a free shot at goal.
Finnegan Posted 17 October 2011 Posted 17 October 2011 Do you masturbate TO photos of Andy King or are you more of a fantasist, pretending you're Andy whilst you tickle your pickle?
Guest ttfn Posted 17 October 2011 Posted 17 October 2011 Do you masturbate TO photos of Andy King or are you more of a fantasist, pretending you're Andy whilst you tickle your pickle? Thracian famously doesn't do his own masturbating...
Rhysm Posted 17 October 2011 Posted 17 October 2011 I didn't think Pantsil did too bad. People have rated him as having a shocker. Granted Peltier is better but he was an ok replacement.
Master Fox Posted 17 October 2011 Posted 17 October 2011 With all things taken in to account I've awared the following grades for each person's performance yesterday: Kasper - RUBBISH Pelts - RUBBISH Bamba - RUBBISH Mills - RUBBISH Konchesky - RUBBISH Abe - RUBBISH Danns - RUBBISH Fernandes - RUBBISH King - RUBBISH Vassell - RUBBISH Nugent - RUBBISH Subs Wellens - RUBBISH Paintsil - RUBBISH Beckford - RUBBISH Sven- RUBBISH Ref - RUBBISH Birmingham - RUBBISH We'll win the next two games though. No problem.
RumbleFox Posted 17 October 2011 Posted 17 October 2011 Kasper 6 (At fault for both goals despite making a couple of excellent saves. Put Mills in desperate trouble with his scuffed clearance and slipped when trying to prevent the second meaning he didn't cover his angle.) Pelts 6 (Indifferent). Bamba 7 (Best defender as usual but not at his best). Mills 4 (Poor control cost him when put under pressure and his reaction cost the team badly, and will do for some weeks at exactly the wrong time. Pity because he had a good first half.). Konchsky 4 (Poor. Just a pretend wide man in terms of effect. Foreer having to turn back. I'd sooner have Sheehan any day). Fernandes 5 (Huffed and puffed but was never going to make Birmingham's house fall down) King 6 (A point off for giving away the penalty - harsh though it looked. Otherwise made defensive headers, was our most consistent midfielder, had what few attackers headers we had and was our only player trying to thread the ball or wriggle his way into the box. Should definitely have won a free-kick for obstruction in the box and tried hard to link with Nugent. Suffered once again from having no wide options. Must be so frustrated.). Abe 4.5 (Inconsequential as so often). Danns 5 (See above) Vassell 5 (Just flatters to deceive. Rarely scores, doesn't go by people and didn't really threaten at all today). Nugent 6 (Tried too hard to play off the back mn and was forevr caught offside. Lacked the right kind of service as our final ball was invariably appalling but worked so hard to make something happen. Had one great chance first half when he could have chested down a long kick from Kasper and might easily have scored). SUBS Pantsil 4 (What's he for?) Beckford 0 (Cos I don't recall him doing anything of consequence except being partly responsible for their second goal. Again, though, in his defence, the service was chronic). Wellens 6 (Showed well in his brief appearance but has not shown he can do 90 minutes of playing like that. Nevertheless he did try to ask questions but, like King, was baulked by the negativity of our sysem). . Sven and friends 0 (Appalling. Even with the same team that beat Derby never set up with the attacking energy and determinatin of that day and left out all the substitutes who might have made a difference. Fields too many ineffective players and leaves out the ones who do have some impact even acknowledging they ll have their limitations. As for Fazackerly and Stowell I won't waste words. Nothing has really changed relating to our teams efficiency and effectiveness. We so rarely get the best from ourselves and the standard of our crosses today just emphasised how badly prepared we seemed to be. There must have been more than a dozen...too long, too slow, too weak, over weighted. I could write a pamphlet on how bad we were technically). Ha ha, you're funny. X
He's not bald Posted 17 October 2011 Posted 17 October 2011 Our fans are fcuking pathetic. 'Fantastic points at Cardiff and Middlesborough, would take draws away... blah blah' A couple of weeks after, similar performance and it's: 'We are a disgrace, fcuking shit, Beckford's shit... blah blah, we've got to stop blaming the ref.' When will some people wake up? Everybody is defending the ref's decisions today, fine but you're all so blind and ignoring the fact that Beausejour SHOULD have been sent off (could have been off in first half and for a 2nd yellow in the 2nd half) and we SHOULD have had a penalty. The ref couldn't wait to give the penalty and the sending off. He strolled on to the pitch at half time drinking a powerade like the cunt he is. Fernandes was assaulted by Burke and the ref did jack shit. What a willy puller. Thanks for ruining my day you fat ****. Birmingham fans are fcuking s*it, barely even sang when they were 2-0 up. Agreed, that fat willy puller was a ****ing disgrace!
Simo86 Posted 17 October 2011 Posted 17 October 2011 It's Kasper's fault, in part, because of what led to the situation of King having to chase back in a desperate bid to prevent a free shot at goal. Was he not chasing back because of his ridiculously poor touch that put the Brum player through?
Bert Posted 17 October 2011 Posted 17 October 2011 King was only "racing back" because his poor touch put him in that situation.
martyn Posted 17 October 2011 Posted 17 October 2011 As has been pointed out king was only required to 'race back' owing to a disastrously heavy touch setting beausejour through. King is doing his job getting into the box, its ridiculous to mark up based upon getting into dangerous areas from time to time. On that basis let's give Abe and gelson 6/10 for helping to completely nullify Birmingham in the first half, doing their specified jobs in midfield. It's not the players fault we are set up without width/midfield creativity. Kasper 6 Peltier 7 Bamba 7 Mills 4 Konchesky 4 (absolutely appaling) Abe 5.5 Fernandes 6 King 5 Danns 4.5 Vassell 5.5 Nugent 6

The simple fact that our midfield was set up primarily to defend was the problem, no one bar King was allowed to get forward in support and the strikers had nothing but balls over the top or into the channels to chase. That these were mostly overhit from deep positions really did not help. Our own negativity is our biggest problem at this time. We need to fix it, and fix it soon.

kingfox Posted 17 October 2011 Posted 17 October 2011 Schmeichel 7 - Important saves, when it could of been 4-0 Peltier 6 - Steady game, did ok at centre back aswell Mills 4 - Hoof ball and rash challenge, ****. Bamba 6 - Not bad but not that good either Konchesky 5 - Probably his worst game for us Abe 6 - Bit tired but him and Fernandes worked well 1st half Fernandes 8 - Was impressed, tried to push forward and energy was second to none Danns 4 - Kept falling over, and rightfully subbed King 5 - Best chances fell to him but still not good enough Vassell 4 - Absolute tripe Nugent 5 - Frustrated and poor Pantsil 7 - Got forward quite well, crosses just not good enough Wellens 6 - Average when coming on Beckford 4 - About as bad as Vassell
marbelladave Posted 17 October 2011 Posted 17 October 2011 It is a common denominator away from home, where we just aim for a draw It happens at home too, if we get infront we sit back, even happened against Derby. The point is that we are setting up to play far too cautiously in every game, if we get ahead we invariably sit back and let the opposition back into the game. Away from home we are far to cautious from the first whistle. If we are going to achieve anthing this season, this has to stop.

Bangkok Mick Posted 17 October 2011 Posted 17 October 2011 Schmeichel - 8 Peltier - 6. Mills - 1 - TWAT Bamba - 6. Konchesky - 5. Abe - 6 Danns - 5 Fernandes - 5 King - 5 Nugent - 5. Vassell - 4 - Sh** performance Pantsil - 4 Beckford - 5. Wellens - 5. All marks and comments spot on... sadly

That's what I thought. He was one of the players who actually made an effort to get foward. Granted his final ball wasnt great, but that was the same for the rest of the team....
