wellyfox Posted 19 October 2011 Posted 19 October 2011 Probably my first away at Orient when we won promotion under Jock. It wasn't the Orient fans so much as the London Police, vicious bastards. There was only about 200 O's in the ground that day and 14thou of us. We had part of the goal post on our bus home. Cold blow lane stamford bridge and upton park in the 70's and early 80's. Pen 2 filbo when chelski where in town and paid to get in pen 2 about 200 of em Roker park was shit too. Qpr getting tear gassed on the way back by pompey fans. Highfield rd them all being gobby till we went over the fences so fvckin funny. Just looked at the redstar vid looks like an average away day going back to the 70's n 80's
DB11 Posted 19 October 2011 Posted 19 October 2011 My first ever away game, which was at Ninian Park in 2007.
Walkers Wench Posted 19 October 2011 Posted 19 October 2011 Yeah ! The Old Den (Cold Blow Lane).... Women and Kids giving throat slashing gestures.... Definately this place, i agree. When we played here I was 6 months pregnant and still went! It was awful...i wanted to come home at half time!! This game that season was my last away game till I had my son! Didn't like Tranmere much either
Father Ted Posted 19 October 2011 Posted 19 October 2011 From stories ive heard: Old Den. Chelsea away in the 80's. A cup match that was abandoned against Burton. And forgot the play off with Portsmouth. Two people I know who were there on the night said theyve never been that scared before. They were chased by a gang with one man carrying a pointy fence post he had pulled out of the ground. Crazy stuff.
Guest MattP Posted 19 October 2011 Posted 19 October 2011 Victoria Ground after knocking Stoke out of play offs tops the lot. Maine Road anytime Upton Park on the last day of the season Rotherham was tasty, got threatened with a knife outside St Andrews once. Came back from the Luton friendly on the train with no shirt a few years back. Vienna wasn't that bad, YouTube myth (though as previously mentioned the Serbs taking a kicking after accidentally locking themselves on the metro trying to slap around women was funny) Good times.
suffolk fox Posted 19 October 2011 Posted 19 October 2011 Was definitely the Old Den. We played them in a cup replay in the 80's. I remember getting a Police escort from the Station we walked between two pubs (escorted by London's finest on horseback) their fans came out of two pubs either side of the road and began to throw bottles and stones at us!! My mate got hit on the head we spent all night in hospital he had ten stiches in his head! We missed the game which I believe we lost 3-1!! There was also reports Leicester busses were stoned with old folk and children on!!!!! I hate Millwall for these reasons Scum!

Didn't like Tranmere much either Friday night game by any chance ? 2-1 win, Ormondroyd and Gee ? Kids throwing smarties at our car at a petrol station... At least your lad can say that he`s been to "The Old Den"...
Jackirius Posted 19 October 2011 Posted 19 October 2011 Love to see it. I found this: 4:25 on that video is quality.

Thought it was 3-2 but did'nt really care. spent most of the game wondering what was gonna happen after. To make matters worse was fvcking freezing. Infact that place gets my vote the coldest away trip.

Ross-Kemp Posted 19 October 2011 Posted 19 October 2011 MattP, luton away ? Was that a friendly on a tuesday night by any chance ?
Guest Bilo Posted 19 October 2011 Posted 19 October 2011 The Forest match that ended up being abandoned was a bit hairy for a while, anyone who thinks they don't care about us wasn't there that night. Sheffield United fans tend to take badly to a home defeat as well. Certainly experienced nothing to match up to some of the old stories of The Den and Ayresome Park though. I'd love to have been in Vienna though, what a night that must have been.
Guest MattP Posted 19 October 2011 Posted 19 October 2011 MattP, luton away ? Was that a friendly on a tuesday night by any chance ? That's the one? You remember it? No coppers nothing and about 20 lads going at it.
General Smuts Posted 19 October 2011 Posted 19 October 2011 Nottingham Forest away was pretty intimidating once the game got called off. Yeah that was probably the worst I can remember (I hadn't drunk much). Phoning me dad to tell him the game was off, he asked me if there was any trouble and just as I was saying that everything was okay a forest fan went flying past my face into the wall thanks to a nice policeman.
wellyfox Posted 19 October 2011 Posted 19 October 2011 That's the one? You remember it? No coppers nothing and about 20 lads going at it. Luton away was always fun. We would all meet in the Leicester arms on the 505 just of junction 11. At some point it always turned nasty and the pub would be trashed.
Floridafox Posted 19 October 2011 Posted 19 October 2011 Stoke City play-off semi final 96. Couldn't find my car afterward but in an effort to show I wasn't from out of town wandered around refusing to look lost, and did so for over an hour Portsmouth play-off semi final 93. 'Slightly' unhappy Pompey fan threatened me with a knife, not sure what happened to the police segregation after that game Those play-offs, gotta love em
Phil Gee's Mullet Posted 19 October 2011 Posted 19 October 2011 Millwall without a shadow of doubt, although Portsmouth away in the play offs when they were chucking half house bricks over the top of the away end wasn't nice, anybody else remember that??
crisp packet Posted 19 October 2011 Posted 19 October 2011 Vienna in Europe vs red star Check out this video on YouTube:
Schlupp Posted 19 October 2011 Posted 19 October 2011 Nottingham Forest away was pretty intimidating once the game got called off. This for me.
crisp packet Posted 19 October 2011 Posted 19 October 2011 Is Vienna the one where their fans got on a train hoping to start something with the Leicester fans but were trapped on either side by the Baby Squad who subsequently beat the living **** out of them? Very true!!
cambridgefox Posted 19 October 2011 Posted 19 October 2011 Millwall old den.only went the once! Villa away after i cheered Claridge scoring, whilst in the Holte End(Twat) Peterborough away, the one when we had streakers and most of the ground and lost. This was by OUR fans and a pile of limestone left outside the ground being hurled towards where i was sitting in my car!
Callabinho Posted 19 October 2011 Posted 19 October 2011 Sheffield United away when their in form! close to the pitch boxed in ground makes for an intense atmosphere.
