Huddersfield Town boss Lee Clark is prepared to talk to Leicester City about their vacancy.

Clark has admitted for the first time that he could go to Leicester if the Foxes make an official approach.

The Huddersfield manager is favourite to take the step up to the Championship from League One after a bid to bring back Martin O’Neill failed.

Clark, 39, said: “If people come calling, you don’t know what the next stage is. But there has been no contact.”

They've obviously taken it from the radio interview he gave.

who ever the new manager is, everyone will have to prove themselves as reputations will count for nothing. hopefully this can make the whole team perform better and those who dont perform will know about it.

I'm guessing that MON and Hughes have been spoken to and our both the top choices of fans and owners but Lee Clark has probably been pencilled in if we fail to land either of these two, which is likely!

Lee Clark is a banker!!!

Whether we get Hughes, or another "good" manager (like a Clark, Jones or Davies) might depend upon what Top is saying to them. If he's insisting on promotion this season or the sack then any manager worth their salt and not desperate for a job will have massive reservations. You only have to look at the table, it's gonna be extremely difficult to get in the top 2. Leeds, West Ham, Cardiff, Southampton, Hull all have great chance of getting automatic promotion and have a head start on us.

Top needs to be reasonable - perhaps insist on a play off place and premier league football by 2014?

One who knows this league well and is tough nut to crack and we could do worse Kenny Jackett

We'd be better off with a life jacket.

I know there is a clamour for a big name but will Clark really want Keegan pulling his strings? Especially as he has done such a good job being a stand alone Manager.

Also it seems easy to put Keegan in with Clark and McDermott but if that was the plan all along surely Fazackerly would not have left with Sven?

What are the odds on Leeds United being approached for Grayson?

My guess is that Birch would be a big supporter of the appointment of Grayson............

i think oneil would be good but can he do what he did the 1st time.

mark hughes would be ideal or billy davies

or just a long shot chris powell doubt that will happen tho.

Grayson is conspicuous by his absence, he's doing a great job with a right cvnt of an owner who's stripping assets left right & centre.

He's well worth shortlisting, surely?

Powell is doing a better job than Clark too, on track for promotion in his 1st full season, not 3rd like Clark.

Doubt we'd even consider though

Yep let's get Grayson on the short list and make it name number 10 that we are linked with...

Seriously though I'd like him here yes...

He pretty much has ruled himself out, unlike some of the others.

It has to be said that is a very good point.

I also worry about any manager that loses a playoff final 3-0 but I guess it hasnt done Warnock too much harm in the long term.

really?

Has he been quoted anywhere saying as much?

“They’re a club who are close to my heart but this club (Leeds United) are far closer to my heart than any other job.

I’m delighted that things are going well here and I want to finish the job I set out to do."

If Bates was offered big compo he might accept and in which case Grayson would go, but I can't see it

Yes .... he said we were close to his heart but Leeds were much closer .. don't forget they are his boyhood club and it must be pretty much his dream job

I'm fed up with the whole business. It's taking too long and I'm bored with the silly comments being expressed.

I'm starting to wonder if Top has any real idea as to who should be manager.
