This is the dilemma as I see it.

The football clubs owners are reported to have said that they want a big name to replace Sven, well they don't come much bigger than Sven & imo they have dropped an almighty clanger by sacking him.

I'm sure that we would have got to at least the play offs this season.

Bring in a 'big name', but they will not be knowledgeable regarding The Championship, & we all know that it's a difficult league to get out of (upwards that is!).

They are also reported to have said that they want someone with experience & knowledge of The Championship.

Both reported requirements can't be right. They must have said either one or the other, not both 'cos that just isn't possible.

They seem to be very 'brand' conscious, so if they wish to continue promoting the brand, then they probably will go for a known name. The one exception to this is probably MON. He isn't really well known outside of the UK, Europe maybe to a small degree, but worldwide he isn't known.

If they want to aim for the ultimate name, then they must go flat out & offer this guy his first job in management, plus the use of a helicopter to commute between Leicester & London.......................that guy is David Beckham!!!

I know a lot of you will scoff & piss your pants, but imo it's not as far fetched as you may think.

Also imo he would make a terrific manager, role model, international status for our football club, total respect from our players, & able to attract some star people into joining City.

Maybe I do have my rose tinted spec's on, but I know how ambitious the owners are so nothing really surprises me now as far as they are concerned.

I might ask you FT posters to respect that this is just a hypothetical viewpoint & I am not claiming that it will happen, so before certain posters start taking the piss & issuing insults, just remember that I am also a FT member & entitled to write in it.

Like it. If not MON then Hughes or the Clark/Keegan thing. Would be surprised if Hughes dropped into the championship though.

We should go and get Mick McCarthy. The Wolves fans don't want him, he can get out of this division and speaks his mind like nobody I've ever seen.

He'd give this bunch a kick in the fannys anyway.

I think Warnock is on par for speaking his mind

Neil Lennon will be looking for a job soon - would you take him ?

No. Great player (I'd say only Vieira and Roy Keane were better than him in his defensive midfielder position in the Premier League when he played for us). Not such a great manager.

Caught a bit of old Sparky a few times as a player down at OT when I was a kid so always liked him. He'd sort this rabble out in a jiffy

Agreed.

Mark Hughes is top manager,I hope he is given time. It is unlikely at this current moment that we will get an automatic slot, but if Mark Hughes gets the players playing with some consistency and we get a couple of wins on the bounce you never know.

Fulham were amazing under him - thought they were going to knock Man U off top slot

Fulham are an average team, so to finish 8th in the league wasn't that bad.
