I reckon Lennon would be alright, what does anyone else think? He must be fed up at Celtic by now. Really wanted to see MON back, but I think it'd be for the best if he didn't - I really don't want to have the boy-hood hero status tarnished.

Don't want Lennon as manager , hardly set the world alight at Celtic and their currently 3rd in a poor SPL

This is the dilemma as I see it.

The football clubs owners are reported to have said that they want a big name to replace Sven, well they don't come much bigger than Sven & imo they have dropped an almighty clanger by sacking him.

I'm sure that we would have got to at least the play offs this season.

Bring in a 'big name', but they will not be knowledgeable regarding The Championship, & we all know that it's a difficult league to get out of (upwards that is!).

They are also reported to have said that they want someone with experience & knowledge of The Championship.

Both reported requirements can't be right. They must have said either one or the other, not both 'cos that just isn't possible.

They seem to be very 'brand' conscious, so if they wish to continue promoting the brand, then they probably will go for a known name. The one exception to this is probably MON. He isn't really well known outside of the UK, Europe maybe to a small degree, but worldwide he isn't known.

If they want to aim for the ultimate name, then they must go flat out & offer this guy his first job in management, plus the use of a helicopter to commute between Leicester & London.......................that guy is David Beckham!!!

I know a lot of you will scoff & piss your pants, but imo it's not as far fetched as you may think.

Also imo he would make a terrific manager, role model, international status for our football club, total respect from our players, & able to attract some star people into joining City.

Maybe I do have my rose tinted spec's on, but I know how ambitious the owners are so nothing really surprises me now as far as they are concerned.

I might ask you FT posters to respect that this is just a hypothetical viewpoint & I am not claiming that it will happen, so before certain posters start taking the piss & issuing insults, just remember that I am also a FT member & entitled to write in it.

I have to agree completely with the above quotes, also think they have also made thier biggest mistake yet as football club owners, probably the biggest mistake they will ever make.

Ps on the Sven issue - I believe their great mistake was not to have a replacement ready to step in - not the actual sacking of Sven. I really liked Sven and was desperate to see him do well but he was rapidly losing the plot and the players.

Agree entirely... Because it would 'appear' that a replacement hasn't been lined up?

Only speculation though I suppose. The Thais may know exactly who's coming in

I'm a bit disappointed in this thread as there managed to be well over 100 pages on NIcky fucking Maynard's supposed transfer and we have so far only managed 41 pages.

C'mon foxes I believe in you.

Let's get Nicky Maynard in as player manager - that way we can add the 100+ pages to this and go for a super thread

No matter which way I look at it, I can't see past MON.

And as for not having someone lined up already, we all know he (mon) won't speak about a job that isn't vacant. I think we can pretty much presume he's their number 1 target, so Sven HAD to go before he could be approached.

Well let's hope so, because after MON and maybe Sparky everybody else is either a spent has-been, dreary anti-football, underwhelming as ****, a massive gamble or all of these.

Just been told Peter Reid is aprantley in talks with us?

Best not be!

Peter Reids got a ****ing monkeys head!

I heard that on Fighting Talk. Unlikely seen as though he's in the Football Focus studio!

He'll do well to be as he is on football focus!

No way Lennon. He's a horrible bitter man and some of Celtic's tactical displays this season have been superKilliegoballisticcelticareatrocious

You and me both but I think we might have to! If he doesn't rejoin then I wish he'd ruled himself out from the word go.

I would agree with that, but unlike Sven lets have someone with grit and determination for a change, someone with fire in there belly, MON isn't coming so lets go for Roy Keene, lets face it most of our players need a good kick up the Ass at times

Surely the perfect choice for half the fans on here with his "get stuck in" philosophy and his football to fall asleep with.

We should go and get Mick McCarthy. The Wolves fans don't want him, he can get out of this division and speaks his mind like nobody I've ever seen.

He'd give this bunch a kick in the fannys anyway.
