Thracian Posted 29 October 2011 Posted 29 October 2011 Peltier seems well rated yet I'm sure Alan Young said he was at fault for the far post header for their first. Can I presume Youngy was wrong?
Bert Posted 29 October 2011 Author Posted 29 October 2011 Peltier seems well rated yet I'm sure Alan Young said he was at fault for the far post header for their first. Can I presume Youngy was wrong? Jumped too early.
Corky Posted 29 October 2011 Posted 29 October 2011 Peltier seems well rated yet I'm sure Alan Young said he was at fault for the far post header for their first. Can I presume Youngy was wrong? Peltier probably was at fault for that goal, but he kept going forward and trying to support the attack.
Guest MattP Posted 29 October 2011 Posted 29 October 2011 People seem to be rating Peltier higher because he refused to shake someone's hand. I kid you not.
J.Lisemore Posted 29 October 2011 Posted 29 October 2011 Kasper - 6 Pelts - 8 St.Ledger - 6 Bamba -7 Konch - 6 Abe - 6 Wellens - 7 King - 8 (brilliant 2nd goal) Vassell - 6 Beckford - not even worth it. Nugent - 6 Subs - Dyer - 7 Johnson - 6 Howard - 9
dog_4 Posted 29 October 2011 Posted 29 October 2011 what about trying beckford on the right! nugent and howard upfront for tuesday!
shiv Posted 29 October 2011 Posted 29 October 2011 Schmeicel 7 - Didn't have much of a chance with the goals, except maybe the 3rd. Thought he made a crucial save in the second half to keep us in the game. Peltier 7 - Brilliant at going forward, which admittedly left us exposed at times but we gave them an unnecessary 2-0 headstart. Bamba 7.5 - Strange one for me, because I thought he had a good game and did well against Carew and Piquionne... but then we conceded 3 goals! St. Ledger 6.5 - Don't think he played as badly as most people have made out. First half he wasn't great, but then the whole team played pretty badly. Second half he was much more solid. Konchesky 7 - Again, same as Peltier. Made a couple of crucial blocks and tackles too. Abe 7 - Some people have been harsh to him. I though he had a good game. When Peltier and Konchesky were bombing forward he made sure he was at the back to tidy up. Wellens 7.5 - Much better performance from him. I have criticised him a lot, but I think today he came good. Again, first half he wasn't brilliant but nobody was really. King 8.5 - MOTM. Whenever we seem to be down and out, he pops up with important goals. He was fantastic today, running onto Howard's flick ons. Not sure if was a penalty though. Vassell 7 - Played well until he got injured. Nugent 6 - Not his game today, although was unlucky not to score near the end. Beckford 4 - Had a poor game but I am extremely disappointed at the fans booing him. Sure he had a poor game, but he wasn't at fault for any of the goals. Why not boo our defence for conceding? Subs: Dyer 7 - Again, made an impact but then got injured. Hope he's fit for Tuesday as Vassell's injury looked like he could be out for a few weeks. Howard 8 - Changed the game. Won most his flick ons, held the ball up well. Shows he's still got it. He should start on Tuesday. Johnson 6.5 - Did okay but didn't have much of an impact when coming on. All in all, we deserved at least a point based on our second half performance.

shiv Posted 29 October 2011 Posted 29 October 2011 People seem to be rating Peltier higher because he refused to shake someone's hand. I kid you not. From what I saw, it wasn't necessarily not shaking his hand. He just went up to Green and basically said there was no need for him to taunt the fans. But yes, that was pretty awesome
He's not bald Posted 29 October 2011 Posted 29 October 2011 First match missed today this season because of commitments not even able to listen on radio...was Beckford really as bad as it appears he was?, don't think I've ever seen such negative unanimous feedback for a player in 5 years of foxtalk seriously!!
Simmo86 Posted 29 October 2011 Posted 29 October 2011 Kasper - 6 - Kicking a bit off, made what looked like a cracking stop in the 2nd half Peltier - 7 - Bit unlucky for the 1st and him and Bamba bit slow for the 3rd goal, never stops trying though, very unlucky not to score. Bamba - 6.5 - Decent enough, switched off for their 3rd. SSL - 6.5 - No worse than Bamba. Getting made a scapegoat. Konchesky - 6 - Had a mare for their 2nd, but alot better 2nd half. Abe - 6 - Does a solid job but never really makes an impact on the game. Wellens - 6.5 - Why the **** does it take you 60 mins to get into the game, running the show by the end. King - 7 - 2 goals, 1 a crackers. Bit more involved than normal. Should of had a pen? Vassell - 6.5 - Unlucky not to score 1st half. Decent shift Beckford - 0 - Needs a serious kick up the arse. Not sure fans getting on his back will help. Nugent - 7 - Usual Dave, putting himself about. Very unlucky not to score 2nd half. Subs Howard - 8 - Changed the game, West Ham couldn't handle him. Dyer - 7 - Looked decent for the brief spell he was on. Johnson - 6.5 - So calm on the ball. Needs to be starting every game. Ref - 4 - Bit of a homer! West Ham - 5 - Made the most of the gifts we offered them. ****ing awful division this!!
kingfox Posted 29 October 2011 Posted 29 October 2011 Schmeichel 5 - Not his best game between the sticks Peltier 8 - 2nd half we has amazing, cut inside finding players and crossing was quality St Ledger 6 - He does so very good bits, then follows it up with something bad Bamba 7 - Strong in some parts, but also weak in some parts, weird one tbh Konchesky 7 - First half he was shite, 2nd half quality, great urgency. Abe 7 - Decent game in the middle of the park Wellens 8 - Slated him last two games, but today I thought he was excellent King 8 - About time he got on the score sheet overall very good game Vassell 5 - Didn't do much apart from get injured Nugent 7 - Effort, determination and passion, not his best game but still showed all his qualities Beckford 0 - Utter joke Subs Howard 8 - Play him more often, what an impact he has made in carling cup and two league games this season Dyer 6 - Injured of course, some good bits of play though Johnson 6 - Nothing fazes him but needs to look forward more.
reynard Posted 30 October 2011 Posted 30 October 2011 How can anyone give more than a 6 to any defender who was part of a defence which let in 3 goals?? I'm happy to hear your legitimate reasons.
Guest ttfn Posted 30 October 2011 Posted 30 October 2011 How can anyone give more than a 6 to any defender who was part of a defence which let in 3 goals?? I'm happy to hear your legitimate reasons. Game was lost in the midfield in the first half, not in our defence. The back 4 were given way too much to do.
Thracian Posted 30 October 2011 Posted 30 October 2011 what about trying beckford on the right! nugent and howard upfront for tuesday! If you mean somewhere near the North Sea I'm all for it!
Thracian Posted 30 October 2011 Posted 30 October 2011 How can anyone give more than a 6 to any defender who was part of a defence which let in 3 goals?? I'm happy to hear your legitimate reasons. That's a bloody good question!
accessory Posted 30 October 2011 Posted 30 October 2011 Schmeichel - 6. Not one of his better games for us, but did make a couple of crucial 2nd half saves to keep us in the game. Peltier - 6. Could have done more to challenge Baldock for their first, was better going forward and only denied a goal by an excellent Green save. Bamba - 6. Solid performance, battled well against Carew. St Ledger - 5. Another sub-standard performance, may be his last City performance for some time, Konchesky - 6. Badly exposed at times in first half, improved in the second though. Abe - 5. Tidy when in possession, but not the ball-winning terrier our midfield needs. Wellens - 6. Still no captain, though did put over decent cross for King's first. Wasted most of City setpieces as usual. King - 7. Hopefully returning to the form we saw last season, but his goals weren't enough to redeem a woeful first half. Anyone else spot the the missed tackle on Noble before their first goal? Or any tackle he did make? Vassell - 5. One decent cross which almost forced an own-goal, contributed little else of note. Nugent - 6. System did him no favours while Beckford was on the pitch. Linked up much better with Howard though. Beckford - 1. Made Akinbiyi (or even Nathan Blake) look like Lionel Messi. Not just a waste of money but a waste of oxygen. There are NO excuses for his attitude yesterday. Dyer - 6. Gave side much-needed width and pace, but lacked end-product before his injury. Howard - 8* For his presence alone, he deserves man of the match. Johnson - 6. Useful late cameo, but will need more from him in games to come.
Fox92 Posted 30 October 2011 Posted 30 October 2011 Kasper - 6 - Thought he could have got the second, but he did make an excellent save in the second half. Peltier - 5 - Good going forward, but beaten easily as Baldock kept coming on the inside. Bamba - 5 - Made up for his errors, but he did make the errors. St Ledger - 6 - Good game, far improved from before. Konchesky - 5 - Could have done better for the goal, but, did get better in the second half. Abe - 6 - Out of position but did well when coming inside. Wellens - 6 - Drove us forward in the second half. King - 6 - Apart from scoring, he did little more. Vassell - 6 - Did so much beating players and tracking back. Nugent - 6 - Looked out of position and did little but came into it in the second half. Beckford - 2 - Needs a strike partner. The long ball is not his game, but that didn't make up for his attitude which was poor.
foxaholic Posted 30 October 2011 Posted 30 October 2011 Kasper 6 - one great save, maybe could've done better for their first two, unlucky with the third. Peltier 8 - an extra point for not shaking greens hand. Solid as per. Konchesky 6 - at fault for their second, but a decent second half. Bamba 6 - did ok, still messes about too much on the ball. SSL 5 - very shaky. Abe 5 - doesn't give the ball away, but does little else. Wellens 6 - still tries his Hollywood crap, bug had a great 2nd half. King 8 - seemed to have his freedom back and a weight lifted off his shoulders. A goal well worth waiting up for. Nugent 7 - Very bright once more, unlucky not to score and worked hard. Beckford 4 - says it all really. Vassell 6 - looked dangerous with his direct running. Dyer 7 - along with Howard changed the game. Gutted GE went off injured. Howard 7 - made his presence felt and had a hand in both goals. Johnson 6 - not on for long but added composure. agreed apart from 4 too high for Beckford reckon we could even have won if Dyer hadnt got injured never dreamt I would be shouting for Howard to come on
