It's also a Myth that Barcelona don't foul much, when they're actually awful for it. While they normally have less fouls then the opposition, if you compare fouls to possession of the ball (after all, most fouls are committed trying to win the ball back - you rarely foul when you're on the ball) they'l often have more.

Ronaldo does dive, but not as much as he used to. I think most England fans still haven't forgiven him for the Euros. He does seem to come across as quite arrogant though, not sure about selfish. Either way, he's still an amazing player.

Most barcelona players do dive alot, but Messi doesn't. Infact it's quite amazing how often he manages to stay up, considering the amount of fouls he draws. Thats one of the reasons he has more respect then ronaldo.

To be fair Messi did exactly that against Man Utd at Wembley last season.

The majority of his 76 goals have been in La Liga. Not criticising him, I think the mentality of defenders in La Liga is to all slide in on him and surely one of them will tackle him.

He has every right to be arrogant.

True.

And my the same theory people have every right to dislike him due to his massive arrogance.

He has every right to be arrogant.

Adjective: Having or revealing an exaggerated sense of one's own importance or abilities.

Either he's not arrogant (he is as good/important as he thinks he is) or he is arrogant (he thinks he's more important then he is), but no-one has a right to be arrogant, by definition

Great player; the best I've ever seen in the UK.

One of the top 5 I've ever seen (since '93) alongside Romario, Ronaldo, Messi and Zidane.

The Football Pantheon, which tries to rank players/managers/teams and generally does a good job, scandalously left him out of the top 100 of all time. Surely one of the top 10-20 of all time in my opinion. The guy is a machine.

Would have to agree,

Another hat-trick today.

I'm sure that if he wasn't such an arrogant, preening pretty-boy he would be considered very close to Messi's equal. As it is, many see him as a distant second.

He's a slightly different type of player to Messi, but he's a machine. I think he could play any position and be one of the best in the world.

Wish I was 1/10th as good as him. Gutted he's not in the PL anymore.

Him and Messi are such a class apart that just being 1/10th as good as him would probably still result in a normal lower premiership player.

Absolutely ridiculous talent. He's a bitchboy but who cares, he will go down as one of the all time greats of this game.

It's a shame so many people refuse, as Haydos eluded to earlier, have such a chip on their shoulder when it comes to Ronaldo but Messi is just the Golden boy and can do no wrong.

Another hattrick? 4 in 11 now I think, the guy is ridiculous.

Osasuna conceding a paltry 15 goals against Real and Barca so far lol

Just didn't post for a while mate, same old rubbish everyday. Then was bored browsing the web when I came across FT so thought I'd pop back on a 7 day trial, with a view to a 6 month contract.

With that sig, you should post more often

Devastating player…his record at Madrid is quite an achievement. Best player in the world for me…he could play in any team and be unstoppable. I’m not sure the same can be said for Messi whose contrasting performances on the international stage show that he is not yet the complete footballer.
