somebum Posted 2 November 2011 Posted 2 November 2011 ..he has now reached 100 goals in just 105 games for Real Madrid.
21st Century Fox Posted 2 November 2011 Posted 2 November 2011 I know he may think he's Christ but its Cristiano Ronaldo.
StanSP Posted 2 November 2011 Posted 2 November 2011 Cristiano. Congratulations to him. We knew before tonight anyway that he was one of the best.
somebum Posted 2 November 2011 Author Posted 2 November 2011 I typed it that way to start but it just didn't look right... anyway... amazing.
Tielemans63 Posted 2 November 2011 Posted 2 November 2011 Both great players. Messi has 76 goals in his last 71 games. That is unbelievable.
Fox92 Posted 3 November 2011 Posted 3 November 2011 Yeah, fantastic footballer. One of the best to play over here in England, and one of the best ever as well. Great record.
Guest MattP Posted 3 November 2011 Posted 3 November 2011 Que Messi / Ronaldo argument. No argument. One plays for himself, one plays for his team. Messi will end with ten more trophys than Ronaldo
Haydos Posted 3 November 2011 Posted 3 November 2011 Gutted he left the Premier League. Having him and Messi around at nearly the same age is a pleasure.
AyewJoking Posted 3 November 2011 Posted 3 November 2011 I think it says more for the piss poor defending in La Liga than anything else. The number of times I've seen Messi glide past aimless sliding tackles, its like playing Fifa. That said, both Ronaldo and Messi are incredible. I've always rated ronaldo as the better player though.

StanSP Posted 3 November 2011 Posted 3 November 2011 He's no Van Persie. Or Mario Gomez - 59 goals in last 59 games for Bayern!
AjcW Posted 3 November 2011 Posted 3 November 2011 Shame he acts little a spoilt brat And there ends the messi/ronaldo argument
purpleronnie Posted 3 November 2011 Posted 3 November 2011 Great player but he always seemes so self obsessed when he's playing, comes across as a selfish player. But I could be wrong.
Haydos Posted 3 November 2011 Posted 3 November 2011 Great player but he always seemes so self obsessed when he's playing, comes across as a selfish player. But I could be wrong. Self-obsessed? I'm not sure what that means Or is that just a generalisation of his personality? He's 3rd in the La Liga assists table so far this year, on 5 already and only 1 behind Messi. He finished 7th in La Liga last year with 10. Clearly he's not 'greedy'. So where does this selfish tag come from? The fact that he isn't as perfect as Messi? (I'm not having a go at you personally btw, it's just that so many people say he's 'selfish' or 'not a team player' and it just seems to be because he falls ever so slightly behind Messi (who may well be the greatest ever) in the creation stakes).

I'm not saying he doesn't pass the ball, but he just seems to set out to be the star in every match, whilst the likes of messi just want the team to win irrespective if he was the main reason for that win, you see ronaldo moping about if things don't go his way. All conjecture I know but thats the 'vibe' I and others have.

Or maybe because he falls ever so often in opposition penalty areas. If he played for any other club than Real Madrid (and before that Manyoo) he would be banned for being the compulsive diver and cheat that he is.
Haydos Posted 3 November 2011 Posted 3 November 2011 I only see a few Real games a season but he doesn't dive nearly as much as half of Barca's players do. Accessory, it seems like you're just making it all up to fit your point. What about if he played for Barca? They're the worst at it and they don't get banned for being 'compulsive divers' (I mean, who actually does?). Why just him? Do you just not see it when Messi dives? Or more often Busquets? What about Richie Wellens? I love watching Messi like you wouldn't believe but I've seen him sulking a fair few times when things don't go his way. Haters gonna hate I suppose.
somebum Posted 3 November 2011 Author Posted 3 November 2011 Haters gonna hate I suppose. That's true. I'm no homo, but at the end of the day, this kid has it all. Looks, talent, money - everything. Haters gonna hate.

Who's the "hater" here? You just seem bitter because Barca won La Liga and the Champions League and Real didn't. The yarn about Barca being "divers" is a myth which no-one outside Madrid takes seriously. Ask anyone in Europe outside Madrid whether Ronaldo dives more often than Messi and the answer will be yes. He was at it again the other night in the Champions League! You're not wrong about Richie Wellens, though. But why should he spring to mind in a discussion on Real and Barca?

But no La Liga winners' medal... Can understand your Freudian slip in the threat title CR7 plays like he thinks he is Christ reborn.

What would I be bitter about? I don't support either of them. I don't care about the success of either of them. If anything I prefer Barca as a club because of their ethos and I really can't stand the whole Galacticos bullshit. I didn't say Messi dived more than him. I just said that Messi does dive and Ronaldo does it a lot less than a lot of players. I just find it hilarious how people try and fight over who is 'best' and most of the time they declare the other as shit. Barca players being divers is a myth? Are you kidding me? Even Xavi's at it all the time. It might not be as 'obvious' but watch Busquets for 90 minutes, he spends more time looking to get players book than he does playing football. And my point about Richie Wellens was to highlight the fact that half the players in the game dive. Yet you seem to have a massive chip on your shoulder about Ronaldo. I don't know what it is about him that makes people so jealous yet they tongue Messi's arse til the cows come home.
