Happy Fox Posted 8 November 2011 Posted 8 November 2011 We will definitely need at least 3 wingers now with Vassell unlikely to play for us ever again due to injury.

Happy Fox Posted 8 November 2011 Posted 8 November 2011 2 is fine. Dyer in reserve and Nugent can do a job there too. I suppose two is fine, but I cannot see Dyer staying on the books I have a feeling he will leave in January.

Lloyd never wanted to leave this summer despite the likelihood of him barely getting a start. Don't know why that would change, especially with NP back.

RyanB89 Posted 8 November 2011 Posted 8 November 2011 2 wingers and some competition for koncheskey at left back
burni Posted 8 November 2011 Posted 8 November 2011 I think Boyd from peterborough would be a good signing heard good things about him. Maybe one other winger/wideman or whatever they have to be called could also prove useful and possibly a target man if howard is let go if he isnt he has to be are target man option. As for players going out anyone who doesnt feature in/around the squad, doesnt want to be here or other important roles should probably be let go and i dont think nigel will hesitate to do this. We have a big squad and a big wage bill i dont think we need to add to this we should be sensible no silly 10m money pots.
Dan Posted 8 November 2011 Posted 8 November 2011 So Wellens, King, Berner, Kennedy & Howard and you wonder why some people don't want NFP back. I'm hoping he's more forward looking than many on this board. Firstly, Konchesky will be our first choice left back, I meant as back-up, I can see him favouring the ones I mentioned over Ball. Howard offers something different, like it or not. Wellens and King are quality midfielders at this level.
Corky Posted 8 November 2011 Posted 8 November 2011 Two proper wingers, a striker with lots of movement like Craig Mackail-Smith, a big but still mobile striker for variation, a fit and genuinely creative midfielder and a Neil Lennon type who will be the anchor and play the ball simply and safely to feet in all directions, unless he uses Kingy. All all these people need to be capable of scoring a few goals cos right now we've no chance of keeping up in that department. As for players going out. I'd say about five are relatively safe. Kasper, Bamba, Mills, King (maybe) and Nugent. But I only say relatively. My life, we need to improve some. Surely Nugent comes into that category?
RyanB89 Posted 8 November 2011 Posted 8 November 2011 deary me people we dont need anymore strikers nugent, beckford, vassell, schlupp, howard, waghorn (if he returns) vassell and schlupp can be used as backup wingers
whoareyaaa Posted 8 November 2011 Posted 8 November 2011 I think this was the plan all along.. Make NP go to Hull.. Bring Sven in to sign some top quality players knowing he wont get results.. Get Leicester some Media coverage and awarness globally (Sven) Get rid of the dead wood to Hull Fryatt.. Hobbs.. Waghorn Sack Sven at the earliest oppurtunity.. Bring Back NP.. Win the League.
mancunianfox Posted 8 November 2011 Posted 8 November 2011 Our problems need to be resolved by changing our training methods, tactics and attitude. I think we would struggle to improve the squad that much in January so we would be silly to spend money for the sake of it. If we are going to play 4-3-3 or 4-5-1 we do need some wide players so that would be the only area I would really want to see money being spent on. Until then Nige will probably just use Dyer and square pegs like Danns and Gallagher...

RyanB89 Posted 8 November 2011 Posted 8 November 2011 Sordel from Watford!! yeh im sure schlupp would appreciate this signing

Waghorn was rubbish once NFP left and I'm not sure he can improve again.
Dr The Singh Posted 8 November 2011 Posted 8 November 2011 yeh im sure schlupp would appreciate this signing Why? Sordell is an attacking player and can play on the wings. Schlupp is still emerging, SOrdell has emerged, and IMO we may have space for both in the team!

Waghorn was rubbish once NFP left and I'm not sure he can improve again. Vassell is more than good enough to be third choice striker I dont think schlupp has been giving enough of a chance prove himself (but i think defo good enough for 4th choice striker) I agree about howard and waghorn. Why? Sordell is an attacking player and can play on the wings. Schlupp is still emerging, SOrdell has emerged, and IMO we may have space for both in the team! Because hes a young striker not a winger and i wouldnt say hes established.
