New Manager Test

It's no good everyone squabbling over which player is least effective between King, Gallagher and Wellens. The enlightened amongst us know that we cannot be effective with all three in the team together. I would only ever have one of them and that would be whichever was in the best form at the time.

What concerns me in the long run, is whether a new manager will come in and take twelve games or more to realise they are all one-paced ( slow ), couldn't knock the skin off a rice pudding in a tackle, either 'go missing' or point the finger of blame at someone else when they have been at fault or have been too lazy to do a particular job.

One player like that in a team is quite enough. Having Pearson back would have me worried that he would pick all three together.

It is imperative that part of our selection process should be to find out what team selection a new manager would make, with a particular objective being to see what they would do with King, Wellens and Gallagher.

If that person only included one of those three players ( or maybe two, at a push ) he could go on the short list. If he indicated he would send all three out on loan, or sell all in January we should give him the job immediately. If he indicated he would pick all three he should be asked to leave the interview immediately.

I still cannot believe our caretakers picked them, particularly as we only beat Burnley with a second goal against the run of play when we were being played off the park in midfield.

Leeds are a poor side, but their midfield tore us apart. Our defence were our best defenders, and our best midfield performers.

King, Danns, Wellens and Gallagher were totally inept. They were an embarrassment!

It is time somebody, somewhere did something about it!

Aren't these the three 'senior' players advising Top and Co on who the next manager should be?

davieG, is that true, because I am very worried if it is?

Probably not just another rumour amongst all the others that the Thais were consulting with the 'Senior' players re the manager vacancydunno.gif

Ditto.. And I agree that all three cannot be in the same team..

It's too slow..

Ok guys, do we need to do anything? Can we reasonably expect our owners to be going in the right direction if some of our most inefficient players are advising them.

Vested interests? Players choose a manager who is most likely to pick them to play. IE Nigel Pearson!

Do we need to contact the club? I am serious, and worried. We are already going in the wrong direction. We need to do the right thing as a club sooner rather than later.

Probably Howard rather than King. And that would explain a lot.

How many years is it since we did that? lol

Err... And what exactly would that achieve? Who would you then play in midfield? Abe and Danns? Bring back Oakley?

I guess you meant 'you're', not 'your', which demonstrates the intellect of someone who thinks it might be funny to waste the time of the samaritans - not clever, not funny.

Spot on Artur and to that you can add Abe and Dyer.

Hahahahahahahahaaaaa if you honestly think Yuki Abe is on the selection panel then you need to give serious thought to whether someone has been putting acid in your kettle at work. The geezer can barely speak any English and his knowledge of the game at this level will be vague. Hat's off to you for the gag though pal.

Expecting literacy and wit on Foxestalk is like expecting attacking, winning football at Leicester City.

They're concepts you hope to see, but often do not. :(

Sorry, but you cannot suggest that Dyer is slow...he is undoubtedly fleet of foot, although unfortunately that's his pretty much his best and only asset.

I understand the concerns with these 3 players (King, Wellens, Gallagher), but although none of them are as hard as nails or particularly quick, they are easily our most technical players. They probably create more chances than the rest of our team--bar Nugent and possibly Konchesky/Peltier--put together.

You cannot expect every player in a side to be good defensively, unless you are playing 10-0-0. That's why you have dedicated positions in Defence, Midfield, and Attack. If the latter two can help defensively, then great, but that is not their role. Likewise, although it is a bonus for the Defence to help out the attackers, they are paid to DEFEND. Of course there are exceptions to these rules, but any fan would be stupid to assume that we can play like Barcelona or Total Football.

Wellens and Gally are both past their prime and are only going to get worse and less effective. King has his best years ahead of him.

It's an easy choice.

How did you know it was Samaritans? Did you try to ring it?

Hopefully Pearson will drop Gallagher, buy a qulity right winger which should have been done in the summer, and sell Gallagher. I am not a fan of Gallagher, not at all, and never will be.

Berner is definately one of them. Articulate and against what Sven did. Remember the article he wrote about a team in Switzerland similar to us. If I was Top I would have got rid of him at once after that because that showed his loyalties and it wasn't the new owners and the new manager.

Worthless as a commentator also.......
