wattolcfc Posted 8 November 2011 Posted 8 November 2011 We took just shy of 6300 cov on the opening day I think you'll find
Mack Posted 8 November 2011 Posted 8 November 2011 I hear this a lot but I really don't think it's true. We're a really self-deprecating lot and if anything, we're often held in higher esteem or status by the media than many LUFC fans hold us themselves. I'm always brutally honest about Leeds fans and have always been happy to admit that there is a larger than average proportion of utter ****heads that follow the club who I wish would just piss off and leave the rest of us to it. We also have some straggling racists hanging on who need to be lanced. There's a lot i'd change about our support but following the team around, this supposed arrogance is something I rarely see. Sure, there are big headed Leeds fans but it's not a widespread defining trait at all. We even sing "we're not famous anymore" at most grounds, we are hardly un-accepting of our fall from grace, it is what it is and most of us are comfortable with who and what we are with hopes of future grandeur but no delusions of it being there already. Anyway, regarding support, I fear there is an increasing desertion of Elland Road. People won't line Bates pocket anymore and pay his crazy prices. The fans are voting with their feet and away matches have never been in greater demand. Those away stats above tell you only half the story. We'll sell all the tickets we're given and then start filling up parts of the rest of the ground too. It's just sad to see Elland Road being such an empty place these days. For you lot, it seems the other way around. Very healthy crowds indeed at home but much less impressive away. Anyway, in some order, it's: Leeds Derby West Ham Leicester Forest Singing 'We're Leeds United we don't give a ****' is cringe worthy. Get over yourselves.
Pub breath Posted 8 November 2011 Posted 8 November 2011 Singing 'We're Leeds United we don't give a ****' is cringe worthy. Get over yourselves. Nah, by and large, we really don't give a ****
Mack Posted 8 November 2011 Posted 8 November 2011 Nah, by and large, we really don't give a **** Just about sums it up... We're such bertie big bollocks we couldn't give a ****. You are'nt up your own arses at all Visas to get out of Yorkshire please! Who's starting the on-line petition for parliament?
Simmo86 Posted 8 November 2011 Posted 8 November 2011 I did have to admire the celebrations on Sunday, people flying about everywhere. Mind you we are everyones cup final this year
Maybes Posted 8 November 2011 Posted 8 November 2011 Derby's away support is lacking somewhat in comparison to their home crowds. I guess thats what happens when you actually have to pay for tickets.
LUFC1919 Posted 8 November 2011 Posted 8 November 2011 Our away support is superb. Up there with the best in England. We have a big nationwide fanbase which is why we sell out out everywhere. Our home support is also up their with the very best, when the fans can be bothered coming along. Unfortunately Bates has created such a woeful match day experience that many can't be bothered with the hassle. Massive ticket prices, heavy handed stewards, poor atmosphere etc etc. Something has drastically changed there this season. It's very noticeable. I

You are'nt up your own arses at all Visas to get out of Yorkshire please! Who's starting the on-line petition for parliament? I think you may have misunderstood the jist of this particular chant. You know Millwall's "no-one likes us, we don't care". Think that. We're a universally hated club so our response is that we really don't give a ****. Being a Leeds fan is a rebellious feeling. Not because you chose it - football teams tend to find you, not the other way around - but that's how it makes you feel. When you're told by everyone that your club isn't liked, in a weird way, it bonds you more strongly to it. The passion you see at your ground is replicated at every ground and it's a passion for the club that manifests itself far more in the tribalistic away end then it usually does at ER, barring very special matches. I have no doubt at all that some of the reason that it is the way it is is down to that "us against the world" attitude that courses through the veins of every white. Never been about "we're great, you're shit", certainly never more than any other club anyway. We're not Manchester United and nor would we want to be (a quarter of their recent trophy haul wouldn't have gone amiss mind).
Webbo Posted 8 November 2011 Posted 8 November 2011 I wish I was a leeds fan. There are a lot of people on here wish you were too.
purpleronnie Posted 8 November 2011 Posted 8 November 2011 There are a lot of people on here wish you were too.
Dan Posted 8 November 2011 Posted 8 November 2011 With that Leeds fan a bit, I'd much rather Leicester were hated by everyone than liked.
Happy Fox Posted 8 November 2011 Posted 8 November 2011 With that Leeds fan a bit, I'd much rather Leicester were hated by everyone than liked. We will be hated when we start buying other clubs best players
John Matrix Posted 8 November 2011 Posted 8 November 2011 incase you didnt know coventry vs west ham isnt a derby neither is Leicester v Cov ooooooooooooooooooooooooooooh
scinnell Posted 8 November 2011 Posted 8 November 2011 I know it seems childish, but that really tickled me i did too mate

Add that to your sick chanting about the Munich air disaster, the 'You Chelsea bastard, get out of our club' chants to Bates, the 'Your Leeds and you know you are' chants to Beckford, the YRA etc etc you come across as arrogant and out of order at times.

Munich chants are totally wrong of course. A dumb-witted minority sing it but can't really see how it's arrogant. Chelsea bastard song - What's wrong with that? If you had Bates as a chairman, you'd be signing the same ****ing song, I assure you The Beckford chant - Can't really see it as being arrogant. There is an interview of him after he agreed to leave for Everton and there were tears in his eyes. He was so gushing about the club and fans, it's hard not to think that his heart will always be LUFC. I think his reaction at the end may have confirmed our suspicions a bit, don't you think I get why that would piss you off, it'd piss me off too if I was in your shoes. We're not responsible for JB's behaviour though, but we are still responsible for still having a massive soft spot for him YRA - ???" "we're Yorkshire's republican army, we're barmy". Sorry, really struggling to see where you're coming from here. I'm not going to change your mind so you keep thinking that way. At the end of the day, we're Leeds United, we don't give a ****
Kitchandro Posted 8 November 2011 Posted 8 November 2011 I have to agree that a big reason Leeds fans are so hated is because they come across as very arrogant. Everyone does inside the ground but speaking to them gets on my wick. Even when they're trying to be reasonable (and I don't necessarily mean the above poster) most of what they say is tinged with condescension and a belief that they are so much more worthy than everyone else. They almost appear to suggest that they are a different 'species' of football fan and ludicrously still bang on about a European Cup they never even won. I can understand the point about the media bigging them up (as they do with Newcastle) and that making them more hated, but I do think they bring it on themselves. Not that they care, but I do think they are rightly disliked.
Kitchandro Posted 8 November 2011 Posted 8 November 2011 For you lot, it seems the other way around. Very healthy crowds indeed at home but much less impressive away. Anyway, in some order, it's: Leeds Derby West Ham Leicester Forest I see you've been drawn in by the Derby illusion as well then We have very good away support actually, not quite as good as yours but it's easily in the top 5 in the division, and a mile better than Derby's
Kitchandro Posted 8 November 2011 Posted 8 November 2011 Forest I disagree too. I think their home support is better than ours personally, then again I doubt it's better than what ours was at Filbert Street and I doubt they'd be up to much if they moved into a new ground. But as it is, they're in the old ground, better acoustics, more atmosphere, and for some reason better songs (I hate to admit it but their number of songs which they actually use pisses on ours, especially at home). Away? Seem to me like someone who take a lot away but don't really make much noise. I'm willing to admit that the City Ground is quite a good stadium, but I really do think they are terrible vocally, so the better acoustics never really get a chance to have an impact. Having been to their ground twice now I'd say their singing section is virtually non-existant. Agree to disagree I suppose.
accessory Posted 8 November 2011 Posted 8 November 2011 Munich chants are totally wrong of course. A dumb-witted minority sing it but can't really see how it's arrogant. It is when you throw massive hissy fits about Manyoo fans chanting about Istanbul in return. Neither side has the right to the moral high ground. Chelsea bastard song - What's wrong with that? If you had Bates as a chairman, you'd be signing the same ****ing song, I assure you I don't have an issue with it. The sooner you force the scumbag out the better. The Beckford chant - Can't really see it as being arrogant. There is an interview of him after he agreed to leave for Everton and there were tears in his eyes. He was so gushing about the club and fans, it's hard not to think that his heart will always be LUFC. We're not responsible for JB's behaviour though, but we are still responsible for still having a massive soft spot for him Can understand why he has legend status for you. But he should leave it in the past and so should you. At the end of the day, he's only an ex. YRA - ???" "we're Yorkshire's republican army, we're barmy". Sorry, really struggling to see where you're coming from here. It dates from the days when the IRA were in regular action with their shooting/bombing campaigns - probably started as a wind-up as I doubt Leeds fans really have IRA or republican sympathies. I'm not going to change your mind so you keep thinking that way. At the end of the day, we're Leeds United, we don't give a **** Except you obviously do, else you wouldn't be posting on here..

Sorry, really struggling to see where you're coming from here. I'm not going to change your mind so you keep thinking that way. At the end of the day, we're Leeds United, we don't give a **** I think it was 2 seasons ago, Leeds came to the Walkers and just before kick off chanted "You're just a town full of p*ki's". I sit at almost the opposite end to the away fans, and I heard this as clear as can be. Nothing was done about it. It wasn't mentioned anywhere, I have no reaosn to make it up, and I heard correctly, as did many people around me. Completely and utterly bang out of order. That's one of the main reasons I hate Leeds Fans- racist c*nts. Maybe only a minority of them, but still a large minority. And you can bet the same scumbags go for a curry after every match. Thick tw@'s.
accessory Posted 8 November 2011 Posted 8 November 2011 Heard Leeds fans outside the ground sing "you're just a town full of taxis". Same message, but more cleverly worded. A sign of wit/intelligence finally taking a hold among the fanbase?
Simmo86 Posted 8 November 2011 Posted 8 November 2011 We can hardly take the moral high ground when it comes to games against Leeds. Turkey chants used to get belted out on mass at Filbo and have been sung at the Walkers. While 99% of Leeds fans are delusional arseholes the passion they have for their club must be comended
Bob Weasel Fox Posted 8 November 2011 Posted 8 November 2011 Leeds West Ham Leicester Southampton Forest probably this
