MrSpaM Posted 9 November 2011 Posted 9 November 2011 Radio leicester just reported a snag in the deal to bring pearson back and now it's off, more details to follow on fb... unsure if anything in it.. anyone got access to radio?? Been listening to radio Leicester for the past hour, and it hasnt been mentioned at all. Whoever told you that on facebook needs a good slapping.
davieG Posted 9 November 2011 Posted 9 November 2011 Assuming this is all true I'd imagine Hull are already in the process of finding a replacement so the longer they keep us hanging on the less time will have elapsed between them losing Pearson and getting a replacement in whilst lengthening our manager-less time. After all they are our direct rivals and will not want to be disadvantaged.

stourbridgefox Posted 9 November 2011 Posted 9 November 2011 He wanted to leave QPR for Leicester but was stopped taking the job by the QPR board. Rob Kelly got the job and Holloway mowed his garden.
Wherethefoxhat? Posted 9 November 2011 Posted 9 November 2011 Cheer up mate, might never happen. I'm guessing you could be the type that puts his underpants in his drawer at exact right angles? Judgeing by the title and context of this needless thread .........it's you that does that !!!
davieG Posted 9 November 2011 Posted 9 November 2011 Pearson is not training / working with the Hull squad currently. I know that and he's not with us so Hull are no more disadvantaged than we are, the longer they can keep us manager-less the better it is for them.
Bryn Posted 9 November 2011 Posted 9 November 2011 Id be surprised if this fell through. Pearson wants out. His position is now untenable, one way or another he will no longer manage Hull. Hull want more cash and know we have it, we don't have a game for 10 days and have time to stall. It is brinkmanship; Pearson is worth nothing to them if we pull out, they'll sign it off eventually. It'll be done by the start of next week.

davieG Posted 9 November 2011 Posted 9 November 2011 Why mate? Because we are their direct rivals for a play-off spot at this time so anything they can do to mess up our chances and being without a manager will do that the better it is for them and gives them time to find their own replacement behind the scenes.

I doubt they could give a monkeys for anything apart from the amount of money they will get from the deal. If we stumped up what they had asked for he would have been with us on Monday I would imagine.

We'll have to disagree then because if I was Hull I'd keep us in limbo as long as possibly just to disrupt us and piss us off, never mind the money which they know they will get.
unreachable Posted 9 November 2011 Posted 9 November 2011 If Hull won't agree compensation and Pearson resigns, then I don't think he can become our manager. He would be in breach of contract and unable to work for either club, so I don't think he will walk. That situation could drag on for months before it was resolved. If Hull just want to stop him managing Leicester then not agreeing compensation could achieve this. We wouldn't be able to wait months and would employ someone else. This happened when Holloway left QPR to come to us. I think that Holloway's position when QPR's manager and Pearson's current position at Hull can be distinguished because QPR didn't consent to Holloway speaking to Leicester whereas (I believe) Hull have consented to Pearson talking to Leicester.
Matt Posted 9 November 2011 Posted 9 November 2011 This is all abit of a joke now. I understand Hull want the best deal, I understand we want the cheapest deal, but really we needed someone in IMO at the start of this week, then he has 2 weeks before his 1st game, whilst I'm over the moon it's looking like Pearson is our man and we know who is coming in we actually need him in actually working with the team. Now obviously I don't know the ins and outs and I dare say it isn't as simple as I'm going to suggest else it would have already happened but you offer Hull the compensation offer if they accept great if not (and this is where I'm not sure of the ins and outs, legal facts, e.t.c) we are obviously in contact and aloud to talk to Pearson so you request him to resign - I don't know whether then he had to pay Hull the rest of his contract or something? Bit if so King Power/Leicester provide him with the funds to pay this, as I said I'm not sure of that's legal or even the case that Pearson would have to pay off his contract. Something needs sorting though and soon. TBH I'm surprised Pearson hasn't resigned already both him and Leicester are being ****ed around here and either party don't strike me as the type of people to stand for it. **Edit - Pearson contract may be more expensive than the compensation they are asking for and we might be trying to haggle I realise that but as I said something needs sorting soon.

If they're not happy with the compensation being offered they don't have to accept Pearson's resignation and as long as they keep paying him they can keep him out on a limb for the rest of his contract whilst they find a replacement. Of course that would cost them 2 salaries so I doubt they'd let it get that far but it puts them in a very strong negotiating position.
Bryn Posted 9 November 2011 Posted 9 November 2011 How are we being ****ed around ffs? He's their asset.

One party to a contract can't resign in law. Both parties must agree to the contract being terminated otherwise one party is in breach of contract.
foxes2011 Posted 9 November 2011 Posted 9 November 2011 i think the problem is with his staff because Pearson wants all of his staff from hull as well so hull want more compo...... i think but hopefully it will be done by next week.
