So why no announcement of Pearson?

ITVCentral just tweeted the whole thing is in doubt because of compensation details.

Theres also a bunch of people tweeting that it will happen today, and tomorow, and by the end of the weekend, and people doubting it will even happen at all. People need to chill out a bit.

Talks are still ongoing between Leicester and Hull to conclude a compensation package for Nigel Pearson, #HCAFC pushing for £1.2M from #LCFC

This will definitely happen one way or another, his position at Hull is now untenable so they want sufficient compensation as they know he'll probably resign if it falls through!

exactly right, its both clubs trying to get the best deal. Hull understandably want as much dosh as possible, Leicester want him as cheap as possible.

Hull will drag it out as much as possible, but they will give way eventually. Why? look at it this way, they eventually give in and take £xxx,xxx.....or they run the risk of leicester eventually pulling out of a deal, and they are lumbered with a man who could not possibly return to his job at Hull.

Hull would then have to cough up a redundancy package......instead of banking a tidy compo package.

It is happening, and bar an absolute crazy twist....it will happen.

Just watching Sky Sports News, and it came up 'breaking news'. The man presenter said "press conference at 12pm today in the Championship regarding a new manager" and I thought this is it, and he then said "at Portsmouth"

Exactly because Pearson asks to leave he can't go back to Hull putting us at a massive advantage to get him on the cheap. Hull don't really have a leg to stand on trying to hold out for a big payoff. They either accept what we are offering or end up losing out massively.

We're hardly likely to not agree compensation and pull out, plus Hull wont want that.

NP clearly wants to leave and if we did pull out they would probably stick him on gardening leave therefore missing out on money and still having to pay him.

So if Pearson resigns breaking his terms of contract....Hull have to pay him redundancy? I dont think so!! Nigel would be in breach of contract, so Leicester are being held to ransome (rightly so) and will have to pay up.

Don't understand either point of view:

1. If Nigel resigns if the deal falls through why would he be in breach of contract? If i resigned today I wouldn't be breaching my contract.

2. Why would Hull need to offer a redundancy package? Surely a redundancy is only relevant if the position ceases to exist... Hull will replace him meaning he can't be made "redundant".

It'll get there eventually, Pearson has no bridges left at Hull anymore. They're just playing hard ball, they don't want a manager who doesn't want to be there.

where do I say about him resigning?

Im saying, IF Leicester suddenly said "ah stuff you Dull City, we aint paying that" and pulled out and appointed some one else, then what??

Pearson wouldnt resign, but at the same time, how could he possibly return to his job at Dull? he wouldnt be able to. The only option would be Hull to let him go i:e sack him, or pay up his contract.

So Hull....instead of pocketing a nice compo package.....will have £0 compo, and find themselves then paying up Pearsons contract.

What im saying is, there is no way he can return to Hull now. IF it collapses, Hull would still have to replace him. To replace him, they would have to pay up his contract.

He never said that, you need to re read what BCFC actually wrote!

BCFC was answering and agreeing to Petchys original post, which stated he will resign if not agreeing to compo. They certainly wouldn't have to offer Pearson redundancy package!!

Understood, got confused with terminology. That sounds about right, in any case it'd be mental if this doesn't go through now.

I understand what you are saying and yes rightly so they wouldn't want NP back. But leicester have unsettled their current manager, if we were to say "nah actually this is too expensive" (not gonna happen by the way) I'm quite sure we could be held accoutable for unsettling there club? no?
