rico Posted 13 November 2011 Author Posted 13 November 2011 Not seen this. Opinion? Good film, very violent though
sphericalfox Posted 13 November 2011 Posted 13 November 2011 I was a bit shocked by this movie when I first saw it. But being 13yrs old and seeing a lot of 80's movie on video I could name a lot of them that shocked me, not the more recent gore fests with rape menace proposed as entertainment. Society
Jimothy Posted 13 November 2011 Posted 13 November 2011 Not seen this but was told it was pretty bad, so read the synopsis on Wkipedia Anyone seen it to confirm how bad it is?
MikeyT Posted 13 November 2011 Posted 13 November 2011 Good film, very violent though Shall give it a go then, cheers.
Guest Bilo Posted 13 November 2011 Posted 13 November 2011 I've seen A Serbian Film. It is absolutely horrific to be honest, though some of the more shocking stuff you read on the synopsis is either alluded to by the reactions of the characters or shot from clever angles. The rape and murder scene though is very graphic and to say it's difficult to watch would be to downplay. The Human Centipede is very soft in terms of the way it is filmed. The premise is vile but there is little there that's actually graphic and the film isn't particularly powerful or shocking. Perhaps the most horrific film I've seen though is Salò, or the 120 Days of Sodom by Pasolini. It's based on a Marquis de Sade novel and has some disgusting scenes in it, very unflinching. I joke about how I'm unshockable but that film really made me feel grubby watching it.
Phube Posted 13 November 2011 Posted 13 November 2011 Forget films... even the synopsis for A Serbian Film is tame compared with American Psycho the book... Especially the acid, pipe, rat, cheese rape/torture bit... EDIT: Followed by a casual chainsawing...
StanSP Posted 13 November 2011 Posted 13 November 2011 Inside. French film about a mother and a baby. VERY bloody. That's all I'll say!
21st Century Fox Posted 13 November 2011 Posted 13 November 2011 If you know your french the title is pretty self explanitory, the fact that one of the lead actresses is a porn star also gives away what direction its going. Surely one of the most brutal films ever made. I'm a fan of Gaspar Noe though. Maybe to a slightly lesser extent but I had to watch this in a class room for Film Studies... awkward.

The Year Of The Fox Posted 13 November 2011 Posted 13 November 2011 The Exorcist shook me the first time I watched it. Had to turn it off half way trhough! And that was during the day! Something about that film that will never be right
jonno24 Posted 13 November 2011 Posted 13 November 2011 Not that gruesome TBH but when i was 11 and watched this it was a real stomach turner
Houdini Logic Posted 13 November 2011 Posted 13 November 2011 Irreversible probably wins it for me - that rape scene makes for a long uncomfortable watch
FoxesAreBlue Posted 13 November 2011 Posted 13 November 2011 The only thing I remember from Irreversible is the fire extinguisher scene - I'll never forget how that guys face just caves in.
z-layrex Posted 13 November 2011 Posted 13 November 2011 Not seen this but was told it was pretty bad, so read the synopsis on Wkipedia Anyone seen it to confirm how bad it is? It's absolutly mental man. I'm the kind of person where almost nothing shocks or offends me, but there are some scenes from that film that I can't tell you how far over the line they are. But that's what makes it a good film.
Bob Weasel Fox Posted 13 November 2011 Posted 13 November 2011 Schindlers list due to shear fact it is based on a true story
Christoph Posted 13 November 2011 Posted 13 November 2011 This film gave me nightmares for so long as a kid. Hardly shocking now by some of the other film standards but if you wanna scare a kid, then hellraisers does the trick!
