Finnegan Posted 21 November 2011 Posted 21 November 2011 The saddest thing about it, really, and the most damning indictment of the state of football in Turkey at the moment, is the fact that Besiktas are renowned for having some of the most "anti-racist" supporters in the league. Although, granted, we're only making assumptions that he was being targeted because of the colour of his skin.

Went on holiday there once and will never ever set foot in that wretched country again. Muggings, rapes and racism were rife in and around our holiday area. The most disgusting thing I saw was some of the black people who were at the same hotel as us getting spat on by near enough everybody as they walked through a market. **** that place. edit: just remembered something that made me laugh though, I was getting a lot of hassle off the market men, nothing compared the getting spat on but just lots of pushing and shoving and threats. Luckily I had my old city top on and would just point at it and go "muzzy!! mustafa!! izzet!!!" which got quite a few smiles.
Jackirius Posted 21 November 2011 Posted 21 November 2011 Agree with Unit, i went on holiday there a few years ago, the majority of men out there all seem to be complete knobs, rude, arrogant, racist and especially sexist. I never got any hassle but a few people from my hotel did. Wouldn't go back.

I think it was largely done because of he over-reacted to a tackle but Eboue himself has made claims that he was racially abused.
