Aleksandar Tunchev is ready to step in for banned Leicester City captain Matt Mills on Saturday against Peterborough United

The Bulgarian has not featured for City this season but has had a successful loan spell with Crystal Palace.

City assistant manager Craig Shakespeare said Tunchev will challenge Sean St Ledger and Sol Bamba for a starting slot against Posh.

It follows confirmation that Mills will face a two-game ban following his second red card of the season at Hull City last Saturday.

Shakespeare said they would not appeal against referee Simon Hooper's decision to dismiss Mills for tripping Aaron Mclean inside the penalty box and denying him a goalscoring opportunity during City's 2-1 defeat at the KC Stadium.

While St Ledger did well in Mills' absence, there was no guarantees for the Republic of Ireland international.

"Having looked at the sending off since I think we can't have any complaints," said Shakespeare.

"The first challenge was a terrific challenge. It is just that you could see why the referee has given it. We won't be appealing so we can understand the reasons why he gave it.

"We are missing Matt now for a couple of games but that means there is an opportunity for someone else.

"Sean is a good replacement but is not guaranteed a place. We have Tunchev as well who is fit again. He has trained for a week or so and played in a reserve game.

"That gives us a selection problem. No-one is guaranteed his place and we will weigh up the options before Saturday."

Tunchev endured a two-year injury nightmare after damaging a cruciate ligament during Shakespeare and manager Nigel Pearson's first spell with City.

Shakespeare said it was fantastic to see Tunchev back in action, and added: "He looked a good player before his injury with all the attributes he had,

"It was good to see him go to Palace to get some games because players need to play.

"Mentally it was good for him because it gave him the platform to know that he could go out there and play Saturday, Tuesday, and Saturday.

"He had a niggle but he is fine now. He is in contention and back training, and it is good for him.

"He is a good professional, good to work with and he deserves it."

If he's fit stick him in. I always liked the composure on the pitch that Tunch has.

St Ledger deserves to be playing for me.

I know Wellens is going to start but I'd prefer to see Danns go central with Gally coming in on the right.

Kasper

Pelts SSL Bamba Konch

Gally King Danns Dyer

Beckford Nugent

Subs:

Weale

Tunch

Wellens

Howard

Personally I would stick Fernandes in the middle alongside King and have Danns on the bench, Wellens for me needs some time out.

Don't be naive..

This is exactly the sort of game that wellens needs to be playing in.

Peterborough play very open and this creates space in behind their defence for wellens to exploit.

I agree that wellens is not having his best season but don't just dismiss him because of this. Instead, select the right team for the right game. Wellens and King will get time on the ball to do their stuff. This was not the case with Hull where a quicker player like Fernandes may have been a better option than wellens.

Enjoy Richies performance at Hull did you?

Why single out particular players? They were all poor, apart from Konchesky.

By the way, who played the ball through for our goal? Wellens.

None of the midfield exactly set the world alight before the sending off & at least he defended as well as anyone in the second half .

What i will say is that only a week ago tonight .....he was as good as any midfielder on the pitch ......played a sublime ball to Beckford in the first half that the goalie saved ....and ran the second half, together with a gorgeous through ball that made the second goal !! Yes......just a week ago !!!

Go and join the other pathetic bloody sheep on here .......baaaa !!

My team would be:

Kasper

Peltier -- St. Ledger -- Bamba -- Konchesky

Dyer -- Wellens -- King -- Danns

Nugent -- Beckford

Subs: Tunchev, Abe, Fernandes, Schlupp, Howard

I know Danns is out wide again, but at least there is no Gallagher who would leave if it was up to me. Not keen on Dyer either, but seeing as Vassell is injured, there is no other option.

The game will be open as Peterborough will attack, you know what they are like. I think there will be a few goals in the game; Leicester City 3-1 Peterborough United.

Who gave the ball away more times than anyone? Who was the laziest player on the pitch? Who moaned when other players didn't get on the end of Wellens awful passes?Wellens.

If anyone else had have played as bad as him they'd be dropped.

Did you go?

Would love to seee Tunch play, a fully functional Tunchev would do well against a quick team with small players like Posh, though is he match sharp?

SSL still worries me though he has looked decent lately.

Kasper

Peltier

Tunch (SSL)

Bamba

Konchesky

Gallagher

Wellens

King

Dyer

I'd be surprised if Posh didnt score, but under NP you are never going to concede many at all, so it wont be more than one.

And I'd fancy us to score a few against them they really are dreadful at the back, bit of a joke really.

But hey, we are Leicester, they havent kept a clean sheet all season so this must finish 1-0 to them. Be fuming if we didnt win, as I really think they will still probably go down. A very lucky team, who are all about attack.

Need to make sure we dodnt give away any sill fouls anywhere on the pitch though, McCann is deadly from set pieces for them, makes Gallager look average from the deadball situations.

Your letting those 2 balls overshadow the numerous amount of wayward passes he did in that game. More than Mills but he gets slated for it. I also noticed that whenever he was caught in possession he then went and gave a needless foul away. I do like Wellens but he was poor against Blackpool

really need a win here, not a game we should be dropping points in and much needed after losing last week which increases the pressure of a needed win.

Subs: Weale Tunchev Danns Fernandez Howard

Our home form doesn't bother me in the slightest a standard win, the Doncaster game away from home is where I will be more concerned as we should get 3 points but most likely pick up a point.

Drop the whole midfield then!

Tunch and SSL central defenders, Peltier, Konchesky full backs.

Abe, Bamba, Johnson, Fernandez in midfield.

Job done!

Goals conceded, probably zero every game.

Well that's your opinion and the before post was mine. As I said I'm a fan of Wellens, but 2 good passes doesn't mean he played well does it
