EnderbyFox Posted 6 December 2011 Posted 6 December 2011 Midfield is the problem area Wellens when he plays well he plays well and pulls the strings King for me is invisable when he`s on the pitch honestly its like he dissapears Gally adds nothing except a moment of brilliance like agaist palace but not offten enough We need to mix it up a bit would like to see Danns in the CM position alongside Yuki Abe with dyer on the wing and schlupp on the other both have pace this could work wont happen though leicester 2 - peterbrough 1 Personally i think King has vastly improved since NP returned, would be foolish to drop him.

Bausor Posted 7 December 2011 Posted 7 December 2011 Explain how, enlighten me! All kingy does is run around closing spaces down and jockying ever rarely gets on the ball and sometimes pops up with a goal ( well much more last season ) Drop him replace with another

You'll see how much work he gets through and how much of a valuable asset he is!
ACF Posted 7 December 2011 Posted 7 December 2011 Fucking hell people talk some shit on here these days.
marbelladave Posted 7 December 2011 Posted 7 December 2011 Personally i think King has vastly improved since NP returned, would be foolish to drop him. Explain how, enlighten me! By being played in his 'natural' position of course. He is at his best playing deep, he defends primarily in and around our box, and does so standing up, rarely gives away a foul (though that is not unknown) and when he does win the ball he is able to bring it out as he has not, usually, gone to ground. Unspectacular that might be and although we all love to see a big thumping tackle from our defenders, King's defensive style is very effective and very much in keeping with the modern game. He is not, nor ever has been an 'attacking' midfielder.......

marbelladave Posted 7 December 2011 Posted 7 December 2011 My team, ---------------------Kasper-------------------- Peltier--------Bamba----St Ledger-----Konchesky ---------Fernandes---Wellens---King--------- Dyer-------------------------------------Nugent -----------------Beckford---------------------- 3-0 City , Nugent, Fernandes, Beckford. Given the players available, that is not a bad shout, though I would set them up with King and Fernandes 'holding' and Wellens pushed forward into the 'hole'. Has it's limitations obviously, but it does try and address some of the issues we are having....... In reality I expect NFP to stick with 4-4-2 and change very little, still we shall see.........
Spiritwalker Posted 7 December 2011 Posted 7 December 2011 My team, ---------------------Kasper-------------------- Peltier--------Bamba----St Ledger-----Konchesky ---------Fernandes---Wellens---King--------- Dyer-------------------------------------Nugent -----------------Beckford---------------------- 3-0 City , Nugent, Fernandes, Beckford. I quite like the look of this if you swapped Dyer with Nugent. However I think NP will find a place for Gallagher with it being a home game.
Guest Col city fan Posted 7 December 2011 Posted 7 December 2011 One things for sure on Saturday.. 'our saviour' Beckford needs to hit the net against Peterborough, at least once. The posh play wide open and this is Beckfords chance to really present his credentials. A poor performance against this lot and my fears will be confirmed.. That he's our best paid player and is, in fact, nowhere near as good as many are bigging him up to be
davieG Posted 7 December 2011 Author Posted 7 December 2011 Big holiday cheap ticket crowd usually signals a shit display and a defeat. OS Leicester City look set to beat the Christmas shopping rush at King Power Stadium this weekend, with a bumper crowd expected for Saturday's Winter Wonderland fixture against Peterborough United. Despite going head-to-head with one of the biggest shopping weekends in the Christmas schedule, the Foxes' game against the Posh should host its biggest home gate of the season, with the Blue Army turning out in force for the Club's final home game before Christmas. A boost to the weekend's attendance has come from the Club's Winter Wonderland plans Winter Wonderland plans, which will see an array of exciting attractions brought to the stadium ahead of the game, creating a truly special atmosphere to celebrate the festive season. The Foxes have also opened a special promotion for Season Ticket Holders, allowing the Club's core supporters to bring friends and family to the game by purchasing tickets at discounted rates purchasing tickets at discounted rates.Leicester City Vice-Chairman, Aiyawatt Raksriaksorn said: "Saturday's game is highly-anticipated by everyone at the Club and given the great response by our supporters, it promises to be a special atmosphere."This time of year is always difficult for people with so many expenses and other entertainment options, but the fans have once again shown their loyalty to the Club by purchasing tickets in numbers."As a fixture, this promises to be a test of our ambitions and will be an entertaining game, but coupled with the Winter Wonderland theme to the day, there will be something for everyone as we all look to celebrate and enjoy the festive period."I hope this will be a memorable day and will encourage more people to come back and sample the King Power Stadium experience."Tickets are quickly becoming limited in several areas inside King Power Stadium. Blocks L, K and B2 are now sold out while availability is highly limited in the East Stand Block J2, SK2 and SK3 in the Kop.
NewburyFox Posted 7 December 2011 Posted 7 December 2011 21k it is then. Nah, I reckon we'll hit 24k this weekend because of the reduced prices.
Fifties Blue Posted 7 December 2011 Posted 7 December 2011 City 6-0 Beckford hat-trick, Nugent hat-trick
Yojoe36 Posted 7 December 2011 Posted 7 December 2011 meh. I can see this being a boring 0-0 to be honest. If we were to win, it'll be 1-0 from a scrap goal via a failed cross.
city1993 Posted 7 December 2011 Posted 7 December 2011 Kasper Peltier Bamba St Ledger Konchesky Gallagher Wellens King Dyer Nugent Beckford Subs: Weale, Tunchev, Fernandes, Danns, Howard. Think we need to use Dyer's pace to get in behind their defence, think Konchesky can help do that. We need to keep Boyd from roaming too much, tell Wellens to stick on him. Use our width wisely, breaking at the right times but keeping it tight in between our backline and midfield. Key players: Wellens, King, Dyer. Prediction: GOALS, and plenty of them.

davieG Posted 8 December 2011 Author Posted 8 December 2011 Merc Darren Ferguson has urged Peterborough fans to keep believing in the team's ability to be successful in the Championship. The Posh boss, who takes his team to the King Power Stadium on Saturday to face Leicester City, is refusing to panic despite a run of five points from a possible 24, which has seen the team tumble from seventh to 16th in the space of six weeks. Posh are now just four points clear of the relegation zone following last Saturday's dramatic 4-3 defeat at home to Barnsley. But Ferguson remains relaxed and his confidence in his squad is undiminished. "It's a point a game from here on in to get us to our target of 50 points, and there's no question we have the ability to achieve that," said Ferguson, who will be without left-back Tom Kennedy who is ineligible because he is on loan from City. "This league is so competitive it can mess with your head if you let it. Win a couple in a row and you shoot up the table and the opposite happens if you lose a couple. "Teams are hard to beat and take advantage of any slips. We have to find a way of keeping some clean sheets, but we are generally playing pretty well. "We've certainly played well and been the better team in our last two matches and yet picked up no points, whereas we picked up a point in games against Middlesbrough and Birmingham when we didn't play so well. "The spirit is still there though. That's why we fight back so often in matches." Posh have yet to keep a clean sheet this season, but only table-toppers Southampton have scored more goals.

Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 8 December 2011 Posted 8 December 2011 Just out of interest how long is Mills' ban for? 2 match ban. http://www.thefa.com/TheFA/Disciplinary/SuspensionLists/ Oh and the news in Peterborough is that Posh will be sticking with Joe Lewis in goal, Lewis returned on Saturday not playing since last season. Paul Jones was bizarrely dropped for the Barnsley game (he has played well when I have seen him, apparantly Fergie Jnr said its because Jones 'needs a rest'. No doubt Lewis will have a stormer then. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/16005197.stm "There's no way any player can play every week at this level and mentally he needed rest."
