DANGEROUS TIGER Posted 11 December 2011 Posted 11 December 2011 My day will start early, with my traditional breakfast of Grapefruit segments, followed by boiled ham, and a cup of coffee. Then it is down to the hospital, where I have been duped into being Santa Claus on the children's ward. ( Actually, I am looking forward to it. but will probably feel very sad) Back home to open any presents I may or may not have, followed by a few beers, as the dinner cooks. Being alone is my choice this year, just for a change. Then, I suppose, I will be a fat lazy slob, and watch Xmas dvds etc. So, guys and gals, what are your plans? Yes, I am a nosey sod!
Rincewind Posted 11 December 2011 Posted 11 December 2011 I would like to volunteer in some way but what puts me off is the organization involved may require me to participate in religious ceromonies, carols prayors watching the Queens speech all of which I try not to subscribe to Not being a miserable old git, just like to think it is not needed. I was told the Salvation Army put on a Xmas lunch but that will be all symbols and clapping hands and probably fruit juce instead of a decent beer.

Ido know what you mran, though the Sally Annies are not that bad at all. When I was a PCSO, I used to pop in to chat to people having a dinner, and there was no bible thumping. Some truly lovely people there, and all happy mixing with each other. Think about it Ken, it's a good place to make friends, and enjoy yourself.
Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 11 December 2011 Posted 11 December 2011 Watch TV all day eating sweets. Not one for Christmas day, bring on Boxing day and the rest of the football!!!!
Rincewind Posted 11 December 2011 Posted 11 December 2011 I am sure you are right. The Sally are decent people who only want to help people. I'll look into it but I don't want to return on here as one of the Born Again Gang. I just hope I am strong enough to resist. Actually they probably puit it on for people that have no one to be with at xmas or homeless people and that can't be a bad thing. I could go in have the lunch and come home depending on whats happening.

Fox92 Posted 11 December 2011 Posted 11 December 2011 Get up at a usual ridiculous early time which I enjoy. Open the presents and just generally mess about all day eating chocolate. Christmas dinner, and, Christmas log (for afters) in between.
I am Rod Hull Posted 11 December 2011 Posted 11 December 2011 Traditional Xmas day breakfast when i was a kid was Quality street..
Libertine Posted 11 December 2011 Posted 11 December 2011 End up waking up about 9 at the latest. Do the standard gift nonce then sit around bored for hours in front of films I've seen 10 times until there's some new Xmas specials of the same old garbage in the evening. Tradition's tradition.
Rincewind Posted 11 December 2011 Posted 11 December 2011 WSell I have to cut down to be able to buy my xmas fayre. I had charges on my bank statement but managed to get them reversed so got to watch what I spend until my next lot of DD come out at the beginning of next year. Only one lot of JSA going in on the 16th. Next will be 30th if the bank is open. But the festivities only last a couple of days dont they?
lavrentis Posted 11 December 2011 Posted 11 December 2011 Would love to volunteer one day on Christmas day but this year I'll probably be opening presents in the morning etc with the family.
